RUSH: We have Trump responding to Hillary\u2019s comment about his supporters being deplorable<\/a>.\u00a0 He was in Baltimore during the National Guard Association 138th General Conference.TRUMP:\u00a0 I was thus deeply shocked and alarmed this Friday to hear my opponent attack, slander, smear, demean these wonderful, amazing people who are supporting our campaign by the millions.\u00a0 Our support comes from every part of America and every walk of life.\u00a0 We have the support of cops and soldiers, carpenters and welders, the young and the old and millions of working-class families who just want a better future and a good job.\u00a0 These were the people Hillary Clinton so viciously demonized.\u00a0 These were among the countless Americans that Hillary Clinton called “deplorable,” “irredeemable,” and “un-American.”<\/p>\n

RUSH:\u00a0 And then he categorized, correctly, the way Hillary and all of the Democrats really see people…<\/p>\n

TRUMP:\u00a0 She called these patriotic men and women every vile name in the book.\u00a0 She called them “racist,” “sexist,” “xenophobic,” “Islamophobic.” She called half of our supporters “a basket of deplorables,” in both a speech and an interview.\u00a0 She divides people into “baskets” as though they were objects, not human beings.<\/p>\n

RUSH:\u00a0 Exactly right.\u00a0 You know, the thing about this, too, is that Hillary and the Democrats, they\u2019re the ones that get all the credit for being compassionate and tolerant and open and welcoming and accepting and all of this.\u00a0 Nothing could be further from the truth, when you get right down to it.\u00a0 They have open contempt, especially for people that doesn\u2019t vote for them.\u00a0 But they have open contempt for people.\u00a0 They really do believe this caste system-type thing.<\/p>\n

They believe in the elites and in the hoi polloi and the rabble-rousers, and they categorize people on that basis, and then they make judgments on their value. All these things they accuse us of doing, they live their lives this way.\u00a0 They classify and qualify people based on the color of their skin or their sexual orientation or their gender or what have you — all these surface things — all the while getting away with the supposed image of concern, love, and tolerance and acceptance and openness.\u00a0 And it\u2019s just not true.\u00a0 In fact, here\u2019s how Trump characterizes this…<\/p>\n
