Well, we\u2019re gonna talk about it. Well, some of these are really good people&#8221; And the Drive-Bys are just ecstatic \u2019cause they think Trump is totally reversing himself, and they think Trump is totally reversing himself on his number one issue, the only reason he has support, they think he\u2019s committing suicide.&nbsp; So the Drive-Bys went out and they started doing man-on-the-street interviews with Trumpists.&nbsp; And they wanted to know, &#8220;How do you feel now that Donald Trump has sold you out?&nbsp; How do you feel that Trump is maybe not gonna build a wall, that Trump is maybe not gonna deport?&#8221; And they\u2019re not finding anybody mad at him.&nbsp; They\u2019re mad about that.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>What they\u2019re finding are Trumpists saying, &#8220;Well, you know, it\u2019s not the primaries, it\u2019s the general.&nbsp; Gotta make some modifications, gotta do some changes here, gotta reach out to a little bit more people, totally understandable he might have to modify his position.&#8221;&nbsp; Then the Drive-By, &#8220;You don\u2019t think he lied to you, then?&#8221;&nbsp; &#8220;No, no, not at all, he\u2019s doing what he has to do to get what he wants accomplished.&#8221;&nbsp; In other words, Trump\u2019s supporters are not leaving him over this, at least here in the early stages of analysis.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"585\" height=\"315\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/L560G7woTeY\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The Drive-Bys thought for certain that they would.&nbsp; You could see it the minute this story broke, the minute Trump said what he said that caused all this, you could just see the Drive-Bys salivating.&nbsp; I mean, you could see the saliva literally dripping from the corners of their mouths down to the floor, they are so excited.&nbsp; They thought there was gonna be a mass protest against Trump.&nbsp; They thought that Trumpists nationwide were gonna rise up and abandon Trump and start getting mad and say, &#8220;See?&nbsp; We can\u2019t trust anybody.&#8221;&nbsp; And it didn\u2019t happen.&nbsp; And it didn\u2019t happen because they don\u2019t understand the connection that Trump supporters have for him.&nbsp; And there are many elements to that connection.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>And I\u2019m gonna tell you what one of them is.&nbsp; And if there are any of you in the Drive-Bys listening now who really want to learn and really want to understand, I mean, really want to know, I\u2019m going to give you a hint.&nbsp; I don\u2019t know what percentage of Trump supporters this applies to, but I know it\u2019s big.&nbsp; Are you ready?&nbsp; I\u2019m gonna say this very slowly so it has maximum impact.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Trump supporters don\u2019t care what he does or what he says because there is no way they are going to do anything that helps elect Hillary Clinton.&nbsp; It\u2019s no more complicated than that.&nbsp; There are many other reasons why Trump\u2019s supporters support him, and I don\u2019t know what percentage of the Trump support base represented by what I just said, but it\u2019s a sizable number of Trump supporters.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>And you Drive-Byers are looking for mass defections. You\u2019re looking for people to be disappointed. You\u2019re looking for people to think that Trump has sold \u2019em out, lied to them. You\u2019re waiting for them to, in effect, come to Jesus and realize that they\u2019ve been snookered from day one by Trump.&nbsp; You\u2019re not gonna find it.&nbsp; Because this has been bigger than Trump, it\u2019s about more than Trump. This movement that\u2019s there, however big it is, existed before Trump came along.&nbsp; Trump happens to be the guy, whether by accident or by design, who connected with this movement.&nbsp; Again, unknown how big it is.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img id=\"eZObject_126676\" class=\"img_middle\" align=\"middle\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/TrumpMex-border-c2.jpg\"\/><line xmlns:tmp=\"http:\/\/ez.no\/namespaces\/ezpublish3\/temporary\/\">There are many reasons why Trump supporters support Trump.&nbsp; There are many reasons why Trump supporters are loyal.&nbsp; There are many reasons why people are gonna vote for Trump and are excited.&nbsp; There\u2019s a lot of reasons why Trump draws huge crowds with lots of energy.&nbsp; One of the reasons why some of those people will never abandon Trump is because they\u2019re not gonna do anything that in their minds would help Hillary Clinton get elected.&nbsp;<\/line><\/p>\n<p>And this is something the Drive-Bys can\u2019t understand, \u2019cause they love Hillary.&nbsp; I mean, they\u2019re Democrats.&nbsp; They\u2019re leftists like she is.&nbsp; They think she\u2019s due to be coronated.&nbsp; They\u2019re going to treat her like a queen if she is elected, and they can\u2019t understand other people not seeing this.&nbsp; So the only way they can chalk it up is, you people that don\u2019t see Hillary for what she is, you\u2019re just biased, you\u2019re sexists, you\u2019re bigots, you\u2019re chauvinists, you\u2019re numskulls, you\u2019re idiots.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>And the proof to them will be that even when Trump sells you out, in their opinion, you will not abandon him.&nbsp; So there\u2019s something wrong with you.&nbsp; And they will never understand, I don\u2019t think, just how fervent, just how solid the &#8220;no way Hillary Clinton as president&#8221; group of people is that\u2019s supporting Trump.&nbsp; Maybe even some of the Libertarians that are supporting other people, too.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Hillary Clinton is the worst Democrat candidate that party has ever nominated.&nbsp; All this talk about Trump being the worst presidential candidate any party has ever nominated.&nbsp; Maybe, but Hillary Clinton is a close second, and she is the worst candidate the Democrat Party has ever nominated.&nbsp; She is a walking disaster waiting to happen in I don\u2019t know how many ways.&nbsp; And believe me, like our guy from St. Louis, there are a lot of people out there looking at all of this thinking, &#8220;Is this the best we\u2019ve got?&#8221;&nbsp; And you might start asking yourself, &#8220;Well, may not be the best we have, but it may be a reflection of what we\u2019ve become.&#8221;&nbsp; I mean, these two did win, after all.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: Let\u2019s go to the audio sound bites and Trump.&nbsp; Now, this was last night on Hannity. &nbsp;It\u2019s a town hall in Austin, Texas, with Trump.&nbsp; And the question, &#8220;You seem to be, in the last week, revisiting the issue of immigration, sending everybody back that is here illegally.&nbsp; Where do you stand on that now?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>TRUMP:&nbsp; We want to follow the laws.&nbsp; You know, we have very strong laws.&nbsp; We have very strong laws in this country.&nbsp; If you start going around trying to make new laws in this country, it\u2019s a process that\u2019s brutal.&nbsp; We want to follow the laws of the country, and if we follow the laws, we can do what we have to do.&nbsp; We\u2019ve got some great people in this country, they shouldn\u2019t be here, they\u2019re still great people. But we\u2019ve got some really, really bad gang members and some horrible people.<\/p>\n<p>HANNITY:&nbsp; Start with them.<\/p>\n<p>TRUMP:&nbsp; Those people are going out day one. They\u2019re gonna be the first order I sign. They\u2019re going out day one.<\/p>\n<p><img id=\"eZObject_126712\" class=\"img_middle\" align=\"middle\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/trump-pose-b2-4.jpg\"\/><line xmlns:tmp=\"http:\/\/ez.no\/namespaces\/ezpublish3\/temporary\/\">RUSH:&nbsp; Okay.&nbsp; So not a big deal there.&nbsp; I mean, the question is, &#8220;Okay, Mr. Trump, you\u2019re starting to revisit the issue of sending everybody be back.&#8221; And the answer, &#8220;Well, we want to follow the law.&#8221;&nbsp; You hear \u2019em cheer, no matter what, they cheer. &#8220;We want to follow the law,&#8221; because they understand that that\u2019s not what the Clintons are doing, that\u2019s not what the Democrats are doing, that\u2019s not what Obama\u2019s doing.&nbsp; These guys are extraconstitutional, executive orders and this kind of stuff, but it\u2019s this bite coming up that have the Drive-Bys practically unable to contain themselves with joy and excitement today.&nbsp;<\/line><\/p>\n<p>So Hannity says, &#8220;Well, is there any part of the law that you might be able to change that would accommodate those people that are here illegally who contribute to society, who have been law-abiding, who have kids here?&nbsp; Would there be any room in your mind where you could maybe moderate a little bit, maybe not send \u2019em all back. Maybe keep the good ones. Keep the law-abiding, keep the productive, keep the parents, keep the kids, because I know you had a meeting this week with Hispanic leaders.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>TRUMP:&nbsp; I did.&nbsp; There certainly can be a softening because we\u2019re not looking to hurt people.&nbsp; We want people &#8212; we have some great people in this country, we have some great, great people in this country.&nbsp; But we\u2019re gonna follow the laws of this country.&nbsp; What people don\u2019t realize, we have very, very strong laws.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>HANNITY: Yeah, but Obama doesn\u2019t follow them.<\/p>\n<p>TRUMP:&nbsp; They don\u2019t follow him.&nbsp; But we\u2019re gonna follow the laws.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH:&nbsp; Now, that\u2019s the bite that had the Drive-Bys talking today that Trump is softening.&nbsp; Hey, it used to be, &#8220;They gotta go, they gotta go, they gotta go, we gotta send \u2019em back, way, way back, we\u2019re sending \u2019em back, they gotta go, they can\u2019t stay.&#8221;&nbsp; Now it\u2019s become, &#8220;Well, well, some of them are great people. Some of them have kids, have jobs. Some of them are productive, create great things, contribute to society, law-abiding. Yeah, yeah, I can see not sending all those people. We\u2019re gonna focus on the rotgut. We\u2019re gonna go out there, we\u2019re gonna find these gang members and we\u2019re just gonna bang \u2019em right outta here.&#8221;&nbsp; No matter what he said, there was raucous applause.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The Drive-Bys took this and ran with it, and they said, &#8220;The Trump campaign doesn\u2019t know what it\u2019s doing. The Trump campaign is softening.&#8221;&nbsp; Then they started asking, &#8220;Is this Kellyanne Conway, is it Bannon?&#8221;&nbsp; And Byron York had a piece: The Trump campaign doesn\u2019t know what it\u2019s saying anymore. The Trump campaign is trampling all over itself. The Trump campaign can\u2019t get out of its own way.&nbsp; And here\u2019s how the media started reacting to it, accusing him of flip-flopping.&nbsp; This is from last night, a montage of various Drive-Bys.<\/p>\n<p>ALISYN CAMEROTA: Donald Trump says he may be, quote, &#8220;softening&#8221; his hard line stance on immigration.<\/p>\n<p>GEORGE STEPHANOPOULOS: Donald Trump is signaling a new softening on immigration.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img id=\"eZObject_126719\" class=\"img_right\" align=\"right\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/483208412_large.jpg\"\/><line xmlns:tmp=\"http:\/\/ez.no\/namespaces\/ezpublish3\/temporary\/\">MEGYN KELLY: Softening his hard line position on immigration.<\/line><\/p>\n<p>JESSICA SCHNEIDER: Maybe softening his stance on immigration.<\/p>\n<p>ANTHONY MASON: He may be willing to soften his plan for mass deportations.<\/p>\n<p>HALLIE JACKSON: He might soften some of his immigration positions. &nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>RUSH:&nbsp; Where did Trump ever say &#8220;soften&#8221;?&nbsp; I\u2019ve got two sound bites here, and I don\u2019t find Trump using the word.&nbsp; Did Hannity use the word?&nbsp; What\u2019s that?&nbsp; Yeah.&nbsp; Okay, there certainly can be some softening, all right, there it is.&nbsp; So they picked up on it, gonna soften here, soften there, and they think it\u2019s a flip-flop.<\/p>\n<p>They think Trump\u2019s people would be abandoning him left and right.
