CALLER:  Hey, Rush, great to talk to you.  Just a couple real quick points.  The first is about the whole Khan controversy.  You know, I\u2019m a military wife, and I totally honor their son\u2019s sacrifice.  But I don\u2019t think that gave them or him the right to bash on Trump the way he did.  Because it\u2019s not Trump\u2019s fault, you know.  I understand their pain as a family, being a military wife, but still, it doesn\u2019t give them the right to do that, and when you hit Trump, you\u2019re gonna get hit back, and you have to expect that. And now he wants out, but there\u2019s no way he\u2019s getting out now.<\/p>\n

<\/a>RUSH:  Who are you talking about, you talking about Khan wants out?<\/p>\n

CALLER:  Yeah, in an interview, he said, “I want out of the spotlight now.”<\/p>\n

RUSH:  Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.<\/p>\n

CALLER:  But I think he still wants in.<\/p>\n

RUSH:  Khan wants to get out before there\u2019s too much scrutiny.  He wants to get out where the timing is still focused on Trump and not him.  Mission accomplished.  They got what they wanted there.  By the way, speaking of which, professor John Banzhaf, who is no conservative, I remember watching this guy on Crossfire way back long ago trying to get smoking outlawed, a bunch of other crazy things, wanting the government to do everything.<\/p>\n

I remember Pat Buchanan just reaming this guy.  John Banzhaf, who is a law professor, George Washington University, says, quote, “Virtually all constitutional scholars agree that a Muslim immigration ban would be legal.” That Trump is not violating the Constitution, and Trump is not even suggesting a ban of all Muslims.  He just wants to increase the vetting procedures.  But even if there were a ban, it would not be unconstitutional.  It might be unhelpful, it might be uncool, but it wouldn\u2019t be unconstitutional.  Anyway, your second point, Amy?<\/p>\n

CALLER:  I wanted to say thank you for what you do.  My dad was a staunch Republican back in the eighties when I grew up, and one of my favorite memories with him was listening to you on the radio while we were in the car.  So you gave me one of my favorite memories with my dad, and I just want to thank you for what you do every day.  You\u2019re awesome.<\/p>\n

RUSH:  Well, thank you always for that.  I love these stories.  I mean, we have a term for you, Rush Baby.<\/a> You listened to this program when you were young with your parents, and here you still are.  It\u2019s fabulous.  I take it as a great compliment, so I thank you.  Okay, Amy, thanks much. <\/p>\n
