We&nbsp;<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.premierenetworks.com\/Press\/Pages\/iHeartMedia-Extends-Partnership-with-Rush-Limbaugh.aspx\">announced<\/a> early this morning that I have decided to keep doing this for four more years, and I want to be honest with you about it. I\u2019m always honest.&nbsp; I want to tell you something.&nbsp; I have, in the past six months, really been going back and forth on whether or not I wanted to keep doing this or move on to something else &#8212; or nothing.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>And it went back and forth in a whole bunch of different ways with a bunch of different input and a lot of soul-searching.&nbsp; It\u2019s been 28 years &#8212; we\u2019re starting our 29th now &#8212; and I don\u2019t do this for any reason other than I love it.&nbsp; One thing that was not a factor in my decision was, &#8220;What else is there?&#8221;&nbsp; I never said to myself, &#8220;Okay, there\u2019s nothing left you have to prove. There\u2019s nothing left you have to accomplish.&#8221;&nbsp; That was not part of my thinking.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>As I told you yesterday, I still don\u2019t think I\u2019ve done a perfect program.&nbsp; <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/live-rush-limbaugh.pantheonsite.io\/daily\/2016\/08\/01\/an_eib_28th_anniversary_look_back_via_audio_sound_bites_describing_your_host\">As I told you yesterday<\/a>, I walk out of here after the end of many programs troubled to one degree or another that it could have been better.&nbsp; I figured, if I still think that, if I still feel that way, then that was in the column to keep going.&nbsp; But it eventually came down to being honest with myself about what I love and the great, good fortune I\u2019ve had to be able to do what I love at a high degree of success.<\/p>\n<p>And I don\u2019t feel old, I don\u2019t feel worn out, I don\u2019t&#8230; None of that.&nbsp; So I decided to keep doing it, because there\u2019s nothing I love more, and there\u2019s nothing that could replace it &#8212; even being on TV occasionally, which would not be a replacement or anything of the sort.&nbsp; So four more years is what it is. The release didn\u2019t specify that, because I told everybody involved, &#8220;I don\u2019t want any terms announced.&#8221;&nbsp; I have never, by the way, released that kind of information about my arrangement here.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Those numbers have always come from other people.&nbsp; My parents, my dad always told me, &#8220;You never talk about it, Son.&#8221;&nbsp; It was a sign of bad manners, class, and no class.&nbsp; And I\u2019ve never forgotten it.&nbsp; It\u2019s kind of a joke for people to throw out numbers anyway \u2019cause I don\u2019t earn a salary.&nbsp; This is another thing, by the way, that keeps this fresh and young.&nbsp; I have to perform every quarter, every six months, every year.&nbsp; There\u2019s no salary involved here.<\/p>\n<p>So throwing out numbers is kind of misleading in the first place.&nbsp; But I just wanted to confirm what everybody had seen in the media, even though it doesn\u2019t need to be confirmed because it\u2019s official; I\u2019m quoted there.&nbsp; I really want to be here, folks, if the Russians find Hillary\u2019s emails.&nbsp; When it comes down to it, that\u2019s why I rolled the dice and hung in.&nbsp; Can you imagine if that day ever comes?&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/section>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>RUSH:&nbsp;
