RUSH:\u00a0 All right, look.\u00a0 It\u2019s no big deal, folks.\u00a0 Everybody knew it was coming.\u00a0 No reason to get all down in the dumps here.\u00a0 I\u2019m not gonna put up with it.\u00a0 There\u2019s literally no excuse for being down in the dumps and depressed.\u00a0 What did you think, that Nurse Ratched was gonna commit herself to the asylum last night?\u00a0 Did she think she was gonna fall flat on her face? Did you think she was gonna erupt into a coughing spasm?\u00a0 Did you think Bill Clinton was gonna file for divorce?\u00a0 What did you think was gonna happen?<\/p>\n

It\u2019s amazing how things repeat, despite people\u2019s best instincts and despite how prepared people are.\u00a0 I began to get word today that — and I do not spend a lot of time on Facebook and Twitter.\u00a0 I find out what\u2019s happening there by other people spending time there and telling me.\u00a0 So I don\u2019t really know from firsthand knowledge, but I\u2019m being told by two or three people that the Republican side of things is really down in the dumps on Twitter and Facebook today.<\/p>\n

I gather that one of the main reasons for it is, again, the Drive-Bys.\u00a0 For some reason, people were expecting the Drive-Bys to focus on the negatives of Nurse Ratched, and, since they\u2019re not, since they\u2019re actually building her up, it\u2019s a bad sign. What did you think was gonna happen?<\/p>\n

Look, I don\u2019t mean to sound lecturing here, and I\u2019m not wagging my finger, but come on, what did you expect was gonna happen?\u00a0 In fact, this is an interesting observation.\u00a0 Grab audio sound bite number.\u00a0 We\u2019ve put together a montage, and I\u2019m gonna play this montage. I\u2019m not gonna tell you what it is, I just want it to hit you, I want you to listen to it, 41, 42 seconds here, and I of course will have expert commentary and analysis after playing this, but get a load of this.<\/p>\n

SUSAN DAVIS: (convention background noise) I felt like I could have been at the Republican convention.<\/p>\n

JUDY WOODRUFF: (convention background noise) I don\u2019t think it gets any more red, white, and blue on a convention floor.<\/p>\n

GWEN IFILL: (convention background noise) To see a Democratic convention in such a spasm of patriotism.<\/p>\n

JENNIFER GRIFFIN: (convention background noise) They were taking, it seemed like, a page from the Republican playbook.<\/p>\n

KEVIN MADDEN: (convention background noise) Republican messages being delivered at a Democratic National Convention.<\/p>\n

VAN JONES: (convention background noise) Remember when “USA! USA!” was considered a solely Republican chant.<\/p>\n

ANDERSON COOPER: (convention background noise) Morality of religion, of patriotism. I mean these are not ordinarily — I mean the tone of this that we\u2019ve heard is not your typical Democratic convention.<\/p>\n

JOHN KING: (convention background noise) You heard more about God and more about the (crosstalk) military at the Democratic convention (crosstalk) than you did at the Republican convention.<\/p>\n

MICHAEL STEELE: I thought this was the best Republican convention I\u2019ve been to (laughter starts) in a long time.<\/p>\n

RUSH:\u00a0 That was Michael Steele, the last voice.\u00a0 Let me tell you who you heard here. You heard Judy Woodruff, Susan Davis, Gwen Ifill, Jennifer Griffin, Kevin Madden, Van Jones, the known communist at CNN, the admitted, the admitted, the lone admitted communist at CNN.\u00a0 They have Anderson Cooper in there from CNN and John King.\u00a0 This is stunning to me.\u00a0 There are many things going on.<\/p>\n

Number one, this montage is filled with Drive-By Media people admitting that you normally don\u2019t get anything pro-America or patriotic at a Democrat convention.\u00a0 You have a Drive-By guy admitting here that chants of “USA, USA,” why, we\u2019re not used to hearing that at the Democrat convention.\u00a0 We only hear that kind of thing at the Republican convention.<\/p>\n

I even saw there was a tweet one night earlier this week.\u00a0 I think it was Shannon Bream at the Fox News Channel tweeted<\/a> that somebody sitting in the crowd at the convention got mad when the chant in the hall was “USA, USA,” and this conventioneer says, “We gotta stop doing that, that\u2019s Trump, that\u2019s Trump\u2019s slogan.”\u00a0 “USA, USA.”<\/p>\n
