It was positive. It was Reaganesque.<\/p>\n<p>So why wasn\u2019t every Democrat in that convention hall last night angry and fit to be tied.\u00a0 That\u2019s not what they believe.\u00a0 Why weren\u2019t there mass protests? That\u2019s not who he is.\u00a0 He doesn\u2019t talk that way, except at election time.\u00a0 Republicans always have to face up to the fact that the Democrats are gonna try to co-opt conservatism at election time.\u00a0 But why wasn\u2019t every Democrat in that place last night angry?<\/p>\n<p><img id=\"eZObject_125438\" class=\"img_middle\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/Obama-Reagan-Mask.jpg\" align=\"middle\" \/>That\u2019s not Barack Obama.\u00a0 That\u2019s not what he believes.\u00a0 That\u2019s not who he is.\u00a0 And there they are applauding him.\u00a0 But then my next question is this.\u00a0 If it was such a great speech, if it was so wonderful, if it was so, so magnanimous it passed the torch, it set up Hillary, it hit on all cylinders, why is nobody talking about it today?\u00a0 I can\u2019t find anybody talking about it.\u00a0 You know what they\u2019re still talking about?\u00a0 They\u2019re talking about Trump and that joke yesterday about the Russians finding Hillary\u2019s emails.<\/p>\n<p>Let me ask you a question about that.\u00a0 Why are they so upset about that?\u00a0 When did they start caring about national security?\u00a0 When did they start caring about treason?\u00a0 Talking about Trump maybe committing treason, betraying national security.\u00a0 When did the Democrats start worrying about that?<\/p>\n<p>And before you think that I\u2019m going off the deep end, are these not the people of open borders and letting anybody and everybody from any war torn ISIS dominated area of the world come into this country unchecked?\u00a0 Aren\u2019t these the people that tell us we are not to see what we see when we see crime, when we see terrorism?\u00a0 And yet all of a sudden these people are obsessed with what Donald Trump said because somehow he\u2019s putting America at risk, he\u2019s somehow sidling up to Russia.<\/p>\n<p>Barack Obama is the man who told Dmitry Medvedev (imitating Obama), &#8220;Hey, Dmitry, tell Vladimir just relax.\u00a0 I\u2019ll have a lot more flexibility after I win reelection next month.&#8221;\u00a0 That was in 2012.\u00a0 It was Hillary with this massive stupid red button toy reset button with the Russians.\u00a0 But seriously, Donald Trump still hijacked Tuesday night at the Democrat convention.\u00a0 He hijacked last night at the Democrat convention.\u00a0 He\u2019s still dominating news coverage today.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/MNxEDomUlXw\" width=\"585\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Would somebody explain to me why they care?\u00a0 I mean, if Trump was so off the wall, if Trump was so irresponsible, if Trump had done something that is essentially self-defeating &#8212; and this is what they\u2019re saying and hoping &#8212; if this was the big Trump implosion that everybody has been waiting for since last July, then why are they still talking about it?\u00a0 Why are they so upset about it?<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019ll tell you, I\u2019m gonna answer all of my questions.\u00a0 But the answer to the last question, they know full well that what Trump said is profoundly effective in defining who they are and who Hillary Clinton is and what all of the controversy and scandal that swirls around her is all about.\u00a0 Trump just continually reminds everybody that she is not the woman portrayed at the Democrat National Convention.\u00a0 That speech last night, I mean, taken in its own cocoon and bubble, I guess you could say it\u2019s a great speech, but it doesn\u2019t relate to anything real.\u00a0 That\u2019s not who Obama is and it\u2019s not what he really thinks.<\/p>\n<p>Let me tell you something.\u00a0 If Obama had been, the last eight years, in word and policy, as he was in that speech last night, we wouldn\u2019t have a prayer.\u00a0 If Obama had been what he was last night for the last eight years, there would be no Republican Party.\u00a0 He would have everybody.\u00a0 If he had governed the way he says he believed last night, there wouldn\u2019t be a Republican Party today because every Republican would have signed on with it.\u00a0 Because it was the conservative Republican Reagan agenda spelled out for the most part.\u00a0 I mean, exceptions to everything here.\u00a0 But that\u2019s not who Obama is.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/NnBjvBS8w9s\" width=\"585\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Obama is Mr. Apology Tour.\u00a0 Obama is the guy who thinks America\u2019s founding was unjust and immoral.\u00a0 He doesn\u2019t relish it.\u00a0 He doesn\u2019t cherish it.\u00a0 Obama resents it, and he\u2019s made this perfectly clear his entire political life.\u00a0 And those Democrats that were cheering last night, they\u2019re gonna need therapy \u2019cause they\u2019re not gonna know which is which.\u00a0 Well, that\u2019s not true.\u00a0 They do know which is which.\u00a0 They were only applauding that last night because they &#8212; but this ought to even tick them off.\u00a0 They gotta be saying to themselves, &#8220;If this is what we have to say to win, if this is what we have to do to win?&#8221;\u00a0 Of course, they don\u2019t care, they\u2019ll do anything to win.\u00a0 But for some of their true believers, this had to be The Twilight Zone last night.<\/p>\n<p>BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: We had Obama\u2019s speech last night &#8212; and honestly, folks, that\u2019s not who Barack Obama is.\u00a0 That\u2019s not what Barack Obama thinks, and it\u2019s not how Barack Obama has governed.\u00a0 And I\u2019m just gonna tell you again: Had he governed and implemented policies based on the beliefs he espoused last night, a bunch of things would be different.\u00a0 We would not have an unemployment problem.\u00a0 We would not have a nation with 94 million Americans not working.<\/p>\n<p><img id=\"eZObject_125458\" class=\"img_middle\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/ObamaDebtEconomyPIX.jpg\" align=\"middle\" \/>We would have a growing economy.\u00a0 We would already have a legitimate recovery from the recession.\u00a0 Something else that would have happened if Obama really believed what he said last night and had implemented policies based on it: We wouldn\u2019t have had all this negative talk for 7-1\/2 years about how devastating that recession was because it wasn\u2019t.\u00a0 It wasn\u2019t a near financial collapse.\u00a0 That was all BS.\u00a0 It was a recession.\u00a0 It was an economic downturn.<\/p>\n<p>But it was not the end of the world like they portrayed.\u00a0 But Obama has portrayed it to be so negative and so bad that not even he &#8212; and Bill Clinton said this four years ago, that nobody could have done better. &#8220;I couldn\u2019t have done any better with Obama\u2019s economy.&#8221;\u00a0 They wanted you to think it was near death &#8212; and that\u2019s the excuse for Obama not having fixed it.\u00a0 He\u2019s still trying! He never gets the blame for any of it.\u00a0 He deserves the blame for every economic aspect of life in this country today.<\/p>\n<p>He owns it all.\u00a0 He has implemented policies &#8212; Obamacare being policy implementation number one &#8212; designed to stifle the American economy.\u00a0 There would not have been Obamacare if he believed what he said last night.\u00a0 He would have never implemented it. He would have never proposed it. He would have never suggested it or talked about it.\u00a0 That\u2019s how off the beaten path that speech was last night.\u00a0 It\u2019s very typical of Democrats, however, when they think they\u2019re in trouble &#8212; and Hillary\u2019s in trouble.<\/p>\n<p>Her unfavorables, her untrustworthiness, is 68%.\u00a0 And the speakers this week have not moved that number.\u00a0 Trump\u2019s lead has increased a little in pretty much every poll every day this week.\u00a0 If Obama really had believed all that he said last night, if he had implemented policies that he said last night, the Republican Party would seriously be searching for reasons to exist, because Obama would have co-opted the Republican Party.<\/p>\n<p>If Obama had actually talked the last eight years like he talked last night, if he had implemented policies like he suggested, he would not have won reelection in 2012 running as a Democrat.\u00a0 I mean, that\u2019s how extraordinary this was, the optimism alone.\u00a0 Obama is not optimistic.\u00a0 The Democrat Party is defined by its vision of dystopia.\u00a0 They want it.\u00a0 They thrive on it.\u00a0 They live and breathe it. Because in dystopia, people turn to government for their very existence.\u00a0 If the country\u2019s doing so well, why do we need a &#8220;change maker&#8221;?<\/p>\n<p><img id=\"eZObject_125500\" class=\"img_middle\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/DNC-Protest.jpg\" align=\"middle\" \/>What\u2019s all this about Hillary being the best &#8220;change maker&#8221; Bill Clinton\u2019s ever seen?\u00a0 Why do we need change?\u00a0 My God, if things are going so damn well why do we need change?<\/p>\n<p>BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/p>\n<p>RUSH:\u00a0 I got an email, I checked the email during the break.\u00a0 &#8220;You\u2019re not spending much time on Obama\u2019s speech.&#8221;\u00a0 That\u2019s right.\u00a0 He didn\u2019t mean any of it.\u00a0 How do I know he didn\u2019t mean any of it?\u00a0 Why was last night the first night we\u2019ve heard a bunch of this stuff from him?\u00a0 First time in eight years.\u00a0 Seven and a half.\u00a0 Well, eight, when you count the campaign of \u201908.\u00a0 Why?\u00a0 If he believes all of this stuff, where was it?\u00a0 If he believes all this stuff, why did he go to Reverend Wright\u2019s church?<\/p>\n<p>This line I particularly loved.\u00a0 Obama said, &#8220;Our power does not come from some self-declared savior promising that he alone can restore order.\u00a0 We don\u2019t look to be ruled.&#8221;\u00a0 Oh, really, Mr. &#8220;I\u2019m gonna lower the seas&#8221;?\u00a0 Oh, really, &#8220;I\u2019m gonna heal the earth&#8221;?\u00a0 Oh, really, Mr. Executive Orders on Immigration?\u00a0 Oh, really, Mr. Apology Tour?\u00a0 Really?\u00a0 &#8220;Our power doesn\u2019t come from some self-declared savior promising that he alone can restore order.&#8221;\u00a0 Oh, really, &#8220;We are the ones we\u2019ve been waiting for&#8221;?\u00a0 That\u2019s why, folks, because it\u2019s tough enough to listen to it and then to be watching it realizing that way too many, a lot of people are eating it up.\u00a0 It\u2019s just asking a lot.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>RUSH:\u00a0 Okay.\u00a0 Folks, would somebody explain a few things to me?\u00a0 I really need some help in understanding things today.\u00a0 In the first place, I thought, because I was told, that Barack Obama\u2019s speech last night was fabulous.\u00a0 It was just great.\u00a0 It was uplifting.
