But when was the last time a Republican voter had a win?\u00a0 Maybe back in like \u201908 with Prop 8 in California when we doubled down and we were able to stop that.\u00a0 That\u2019s like the last thing I remember.\u00a0 You\u2019re gonna know better than I am.\u00a0 But as a Republican voter, I don\u2019t have a lot of wins.\u00a0 But when I look at Trump, I think, &#8220;Hey, maybe this guy can do something. Maybe we can win something for a change.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/live-rush-limbaugh.pantheonsite.io\/pages\/static\/join\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><img id=\"eZObject_125389\" class=\"img_middle\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/Never-Hillary-585-plain-B2.jpg\" align=\"middle\" \/><\/a>RUSH:\u00a0 No, let me tell you something.\u00a0 There have been some wins since then.\u00a0 The Republicans won back control of the House in 2010, and then they won back control of the Senate in 2014.\u00a0 It\u2019s after that that you have to ask: What do we have to show for it?\u00a0 It\u2019s not that we haven\u2019t won; it\u2019s that they don\u2019t seem to count for anything.\u00a0 And the last really big win was 2004 with George W. Bush\u2019s reelection.\u00a0 You talk about Prop 8 in California. That was a win, but look at what has happened to many of the public people that voted for it.<\/p>\n<p>They\u2019ve been destroyed.\u00a0 This poor guy that ran Mozilla, the Firefox web browser, Brendan Eich? Gone, because he donated a thousand dollars to the effort.\u00a0 But I get your point.\u00a0 There hasn\u2019t been a lot of rallying calls. There hasn\u2019t been a whole lot of wins.\u00a0 The House is a big win, but it\u2019s not like winning a presidential election, and we\u2019ve lost two of those in a row.\u00a0 But it\u2019s not just that.\u00a0 We don\u2019t even&#8230; Many Republicans don\u2019t even think we\u2019ve competed seriously or competently.<\/p>\n<p>CALLER:\u00a0 Yeah, that\u2019s exactly what I\u2019m saying. Like, I mean, obviously we won the House, we won the Senate, but what good\u2019s that done us?\u00a0 I\u2019m talking about wins like policy.\u00a0 Policy wins.\u00a0 There\u2019s not much. There just isn\u2019t a whole lot of it to come by.\u00a0 So when the establishment looks at us and is like, &#8220;Hey, well, you know, Trump isn\u2019t this. He\u2019s not conservative. He\u2019s not&#8230;&#8221; This is like, &#8220;Well, guess what? You\u2019re not doing any of that for us, so maybe we\u2019ll take a chance on him.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>RUSH:\u00a0 So that\u2019s why you were not a Trump supporter because he\u2019s not conservative?<\/p>\n<p>CALLER:\u00a0 Yeah. But, I mean, obviously I\u2019m not gonna vote for Hillary.\u00a0 So there you have it.<\/p>\n<p><img id=\"eZObject_125399\" class=\"img_middle\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/TrumpWinning.jpg\" align=\"middle\" \/>RUSH:\u00a0 Well, no, no, I understand.\u00a0 Believe me, you\u2019re not alone on that with people, the conservatives not thinking Trump is one and then therefore he\u2019s not deserving of support.\u00a0 No matter. No matter what.\u00a0 But regardless, in your case, something\u2019s causing you to moderate and come around.\u00a0 I suspect that it\u2019s what you say: You want to be on the winning side.\u00a0 And the other side here is Hillary Clinton, and I know that&#8230; I don\u2019t know too&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>They\u2019re out there. I don\u2019t know too many people who actually want Hillary to win so that conservatives will be punished, but there are some who do. Yeah, conservatives supporting Trump will be punished.\u00a0 But all that aside, just in the realm of politics: What a rank amateur, Donald Trump &#8212; in terms of politics, a rank amateur outsider &#8212; has pulled off here today, with no media support?\u00a0 Not in the Drive-Bys?\u00a0 It is mind-boggling.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>RUSH: We\u2019re gonna start in Logan, Utah.\u00a0 This is Michael.\u00a0 Great to have you.\u00a0 Welcome to the program.
