CALLER:\u00a0 Hi, Rush! I\u2019m good.\u00a0 How are you?<\/p>\n

RUSH: Very well.<\/p>\n

CALLER:\u00a0 That\u2019s good.\u00a0 I read your books, and they were excellent.\u00a0 I really enjoyed them, and I\u2019m really excited to be on the show today.\u00a0 I had a question for you about what\u2019s been happening the past couple days at the RNC, and I wanted to know your opinion on it.<\/p>\n

RUSH:\u00a0 All right.\u00a0 I\u2019ll be happy to help.<\/p>\n

CALLER:\u00a0 Okay.<\/p>\n

RUSH:\u00a0 You\u2019re 13, is that right? You\u2019re 13?<\/p>\n

CALLER:\u00a0 Yes, I am.<\/p>\n

RUSH:\u00a0 That\u2019s incredible.<\/p>\n

CALLER:\u00a0 Well, my family were very strong Cruz supporters until he dropped out of the race a little while back. And we were really disappointed about what he did with his RNC speech a couple nights ago, all his unforgiveness with Donald Trump with his wife and his father. So I wanted to know your opinion, \u2019cause Cruz said about voting your conscience and not endorsing Trump. Could this give his supporters the idea to vote for Hillary Clinton and possibly allow the Republicans and other viewers to have Trump lose voters and even bigger than that, to lose the election in November?<\/p>\n

RUSH:\u00a0 No, because the next day… He attended a Texas delegation breakfast and he clarified that he\u2019s not voting for Hillary. He wasn\u2019t intending to say that.<\/p>\n

CALLER:\u00a0 Yeah.<\/p>\n

RUSH:\u00a0 Now, one thing, Haley, that we learned today from a Donald Trump press conference was that apparently Ted Cruz did change his speech.\u00a0 You know, they submitted — the Cruz people submitted — the speech to the convention, and it was approved.\u00a0 Apparently, Cruz added something to his remarks that they didn\u2019t know was coming.\u00a0 I don\u2019t know what it was, but I do know…\u00a0 I was watching it, and I saw Ivanka and Donald Jr. stand up and start pointing at the screen and saying, “What the hell is this?”\u00a0 I think it may be that that\u2019s when he inserted something that had not been vetted.\u00a0 I didn\u2019t know what it was; I didn\u2019t learn about it until today.\u00a0 Now, look, I\u2019ve gotta take a break here.\u00a0 Can you hang on through the break and we\u2019ll continue?<\/p>\n

CALLER:\u00a0 Yeah, sure.<\/p>\n

RUSH:\u00a0 Excellent. \u00a0Don\u2019t go away.\u00a0 We\u2019ll be right back before you know it.<\/p>\n

RUSH:\u00a0 And we are back with 13-year-old Haley in Pittsburgh.\u00a0 I heard you trying to interrupt me, and I didn\u2019t let you because I was running out of time.\u00a0 Did I misunderstand the question you were asking me?\u00a0 Was that where you were trying to correct me on?<\/p>\n

CALLER:\u00a0 No.\u00a0 No, I was actually — you got it great.\u00a0 Yeah, I just wanted to clarify that I am a supporter of Donald Trump and I just —<\/p>\n

RUSH:\u00a0 But you were, you and your family were supporters of Cruz, right?<\/p>\n

CALLER:\u00a0 Yes, sir.\u00a0 Yes.<\/p>\n

RUSH:\u00a0 But you upset with the way Cruz did what he did, and you\u2019re afraid that what Cruz did might end up having people that supported him vote for Hillary?\u00a0 Is that what your concern is?<\/p>\n

<\/a>CALLER:\u00a0 Well, yes, because we thought he could say — well, I thought that what he could have done at the Republican National Convention, which he didn\u2019t, is he could have tried to unify the party, because we want to win in November. And so our party could be unified to — so he could have supported Trump, he could have unified the party by making a decision during his speech, which he didn\u2019t do.\u00a0 But I was saying about how we\u2019re not sure if it could affect Trump\u2019s vote in November.<\/p>\n

RUSH:\u00a0 Let me run an alternative theory on the Ted Cruz speech at the convention by you, \u2019cause there are some who are saying —<\/p>\n

CALLER:\u00a0 Okay.<\/p>\n

RUSH:\u00a0 — that Cruz didn\u2019t do anything wrong. That the real incivility was the New York delegation when they started booing him and when they started hissing at him, when they started shouting, “Endorse Trump, endorse Trump,” that it was the incivility and the mean-spiritedness of the New York delegation, led by Peter King, who hates Cruz, that led to everything thereafter happening. The boos, Cruz having to leave the stage in disgrace, and some of the pro-Cruz people are saying that Cruz, had the New York delegation left him alone, everything would have been fine, but they started booing him and they started treating him with incivility, and it\u2019s typical of what Trump people do, and that\u2019s the problem we really face. Ted Cruz is a great, virtuous guy, but he ran up against these uncivil, mean-spirited Trumpsters from New York.<\/p>\n

CALLER:\u00a0 Yes.<\/p>\n

RUSH:\u00a0 What do you think of that theory?<\/p>\n

CALLER:\u00a0 I think what you\u2019re saying could be true because he could have felt some pressure from the crowd, especially the New York delegation.\u00a0 But I think he came out and said he wasn\u2019t going to endorse Trump at the Texas delegation because of what he said about his father and what he posted about his wife.\u00a0 But I think your theory could be correct, Mr. Limbaugh, but —<\/p>\n

RUSH:\u00a0 Not mine, it\u2019s not mine.\u00a0 It\u2019s a theory that is running around among some of the very devoted Cruz supporters.<\/p>\n

CALLER:\u00a0 Right.\u00a0 Yes, I agree.\u00a0 I do agree with that.\u00a0 I just think if Cruz could have chose a different way to — with his speech, I think he could have unified the party more and —<\/p>\n

RUSH:\u00a0 Well, you know, you\u2019re not alone, I gotta tell you, Haley, a lot of Cruz people have shared with me their disappointment over how it was perceived that he did what he did.\u00a0 So you\u2019re not alone there.<\/p>\n

CALLER:\u00a0 Okay.<\/p>\n

RUSH:\u00a0 But, look, I still can\u2019t believe you\u2019re 13.\u00a0 I honestly can\u2019t believe you\u2019re 13.<\/p>\n

CALLER:\u00a0 Thank you.<\/p>\n

RUSH:\u00a0 You sound more intelligent and more mature than some college kids that I know.<\/p>\n

CALLER:\u00a0 Thank you very much.\u00a0 I appreciate it.<\/p>\n

CALLER:\u00a0 I have.\u00a0 I enjoyed them a lot.\u00a0 I still have to read the third one, but I read the first two, yes.<\/p>\n

RUSH:\u00a0 Oh, you haven\u2019t read the third one.\u00a0 Oh, well, and there\u2019s a fourth.\u00a0 And there might even be more, Haley.<\/p>\n

Well, that\u2019s obviously her family.\u00a0 I\u2019m convinced that a little girl like that can be pummeled with all this global warming crap and it would not, it would not permeate her boundaries, it wouldn\u2019t penetrate her boundaries.\u00a0 She\u2019s got a solid upbringing and so forth.\u00a0 But, anyway, you never know.\u00a0 But, yeah, that\u2019s incredible, 13.\u00a0 Not just the ability to speak, but the intelligence, the knowledge, the poise.\u00a0 Incredible.<\/p>\n

CALLER:\u00a0 Thank you, Rush.\u00a0 Great to talk to you.\u00a0 I happen to love Ted Cruz.\u00a0 He\u2019s a good man, and I was very disappointed when he didn\u2019t make it. But Ted Cruz was in a no-win situation the other night.\u00a0 If he comes out and endorses him, “He\u2019s a fraud! He\u2019s a phony! He said all these things about Trump. Now he comes out and endorses him?”\u00a0 He doesn\u2019t endorse him, and he gets the abuse that he got.\u00a0 So Ted Cruz was gonna lose no matter what he did, but he spoke his mind, and he\u2019s a man of integrity.\u00a0 That\u2019s why people like me and support him, and I\u2019m gonna vote for Donald Trump, okay?\u00a0 I\u2019m gonna hold my nose and do it, but I\u2019d rather do that than vote for that diseased rodent on the other side, \u2019cause I would never do that.<\/p>\n

RUSH:\u00a0 “Diseased rodent,” did you say?<\/p>\n

CALLER:\u00a0 Yeah, “diseased rodent.”\u00a0 I could say something more, but I know this is a family hour show.<\/p>\n

RUSH: What do you want to say, “Lock her up, lock her up, lock her up”?<\/p>\n

CALLER:\u00a0 No, I\u2019d say worse than that, but I can\u2019t do that.<\/p>\n

RUSH: By the way, Trump got credit for a lot of class last night.\u00a0 The crowd\u2019s going, “Lock her up! Lock her up!”\u00a0 He pauses. “Let\u2019s defeat her.”<\/p>\n

CALLER:\u00a0 Well, she deserves to be locked up and more.\u00a0 She\u2019s a treason-er, in my opinion.<\/p>\n

RUSH:\u00a0 Yeah, let\u2019s go back to Cruz only because time is dwindling here.\u00a0 I think that there is a way Cruz could have done this and not have what happened happen.\u00a0 I think he could have made a speech that would have satisfied his supporters and not angered the Trumpists.\u00a0 And, frankly, that\u2019s what I thought he was gonna do. He wouldn\u2019t have had to mention the actual words “I endorse Trump.”\u00a0 All he would have had to do was make an appeal to unity.<\/p>\n

And he could have done it when he talks about “vote your conscience.”<\/p>\n

He could have added something like, “And that cannot include voting for Hillary Clinton.”\u00a0 It would have been real easy.\u00a0 There obviously something deeply bothering Ted Cruz here.\u00a0 I think there\u2019s something to the fact that if the New York delegation hadn\u2019t started having fun here, it might not have ended the way it did. But he could have done this in a way that would not have angered one group or the other — which, again, is what I thought he was gonna do.<\/p>\n
