RUSH: “Three-Quarters of Americans Felt ‘Positive\u2019 About Donald Trump\u2019s Convention Speech, After the Mogul Painted a Dark Portrait of the Nation\u2019s Problems and Cast Himself as the Man to Fix Them.”<\/p>\n

Grab audio sound bite number four and number five.\u00a0 You can hear this, CNN, the disconnect on display, CNN anchors shocked and dismayed that an instant poll showed their viewers liked Trump\u2019s speech.<\/p>\n

DAVID CHALIAN:\u00a0It is, but before we get to that news, I just want to give a couple caveats of what this is.\u00a0 This is a poll of speech watchers. This is not representative of all Americans as we normally talk about polling.\u00a0 So this is people who tuned in.\u00a0 The next thing you need to know is, people who tune in to a Republican convention to hear the Republican nominee are predominantly Republican.\u00a0 So speech watchers.\u00a0 It\u2019s like when we do the president\u2019s State of the Union address, they predisposed to like what they are tuning in to see.<\/p>\n

RUSH:\u00a0 Okay, did you ever hear them precede poll results like that?\u00a0 You never do.\u00a0 This is David Chalian, and what he\u2019s saying is, look, the news I have for you is not good but don\u2019t sweat it, it\u2019s just a bunch of wackos.\u00a0 It\u2019s a bunch of wacko Republicans who watch the speech. It\u2019s a bunch of wacko Republicans who expect this kind of stuff to be said.\u00a0 It\u2019s not the real America. It\u2019s not the real American people, not as we think of in other polls.\u00a0 This is just a poll of Republican watchers.\u00a0 This is wackos, this is fruitcakes, this is nutcases responding to their leader nutcase.\u00a0 Don\u2019t worry about it.\u00a0 But here are the numbers.<\/p>\n

DAVID CHALIAN: Reaction to Trump\u2019s speech, very positive reaction, 57% of the speech watchers had a very positive reaction.\u00a0 Eighteen percent had a somewhat positive reaction.\u00a0 That adds up to 75% there.<\/p>\n
