RUSH:\u00a0 Here is Sylvana from San Diego.\u00a0 It\u2019s great to have you.\u00a0 Hello.<\/p>\n

CALLER:\u00a0 Hi.\u00a0 Hi, Rush.\u00a0 I\u2019m calling actually regarding the speech, the Donald Trump acceptance speech he did last night.<\/p>\n

RUSH:\u00a0 Yeah?<\/p>\n

CALLER:\u00a0 And after listening to that speech, my question to you is: Why doesn\u2019t Donald Trump want my vote?\u00a0 I\u2019m a Ted Cruz supporter, and I\u2019m a constitutional conservative.\u00a0 I felt no love from Donald Trump last night. \u00a0He mentioned everybody under the sun — evangelical, LGBT, blue-collar, coal workers, students, student loans, Bernie Sanders and his supporters.\u00a0 The group that he did not mention is people like me, Ted Cruz supporters, constitutional conservatives.<\/p>\n

RUSH:\u00a0 Well, now —<\/p>\n

CALLER:\u00a0 What does that mean?\u00a0 Well, all I wanted to hear was small government, Constitution, Bill of Rights, individual liberty and freedom, small business.\u00a0 I heard none of it.<\/p>\n

RUSH:\u00a0 No, I —<\/p>\n

CALLER:\u00a0 And my question — I\u2019m sorry, but my question to you is, if he had shown some respect to Ted Cruz and his supporters, you know, I think support for Donald Trump would have been overwhelming.\u00a0 But I heard him say repeatedly that he doesn\u2019t care about Ted Cruz and his support.\u00a0 And the question is: Why not?\u00a0 The other day you had a caller, a guy, and he said, “I think we can win without them.\u00a0 They\u2019re welcome to join us, but I think we can win without them.”\u00a0 But my question to you is: Why do it that way?\u00a0 Why not swell your ranks and overwhelm the opposition in November?<\/p>\n

RUSH:\u00a0 I think he thinks he is.\u00a0 He\u2019s not an ideological conservative.\u00a0 I have mentioned this a bunch of times.\u00a0 He doesn\u2019t —<\/p>\n

CALLER:\u00a0 I know. I\u2019m sorry for interrupting, but —<\/p>\n

<\/a>RUSH:\u00a0 He\u2019s not an ideological liberal, either.\u00a0 He\u2019s not an ideological person.\u00a0 He doesn\u2019t look at it that way. He couldn\u2019t talk about the Constitution last night, other than talking about Supreme Court justices.\u00a0 He didn\u2019t mention it. He didn\u2019t talk about, “We, as Republicans…”\u00a0 I was making notes.\u00a0 You\u2019re getting me a little bit ahead of myself.\u00a0 I haven\u2019t gotten to the speech itself.\u00a0 I\u2019m still trying to bury the Democrats because they\u2019re the enemy here.<\/p>\n

But I\u2019m telling you: The first half of this speech, I was starting to get a little concerned, \u2019cause it was “I, I, I, I, I, I,” and, “I\u2019m gonna, I\u2019m gonna, I\u2019m gonna.”\u00a0 I said, “Hey, what about us out here?\u00a0 What about marshalling the support of American people? What about mobilizing us?\u00a0 We\u2019re the ones that are gonna have to do it!\u00a0 Where\u2019s the ‘we\u2019?\u00a0 Where\u2019s the ‘we\u2019?”\u00a0 All of this “I, I, I,” I heard some guy who is gonna go in and grab every lever of government he can find and fix whatever he thinks is wrong, and his supporters want him to do that.<\/p>\n

But then later in the speech he got to the “we.”\u00a0 He got there eventually.\u00a0 He got to the “we are gonna do this” and he got to the idea that the American people are responsible for what happens to them and what they do and so forth and his job\u2019s keeping government out of the way and fix the things that are impediments and impeding people.\u00a0 And you\u2019re right: He didn\u2019t talk about limited government, small government, \u2019cause he doesn\u2019t believe in that. Obviously.<\/p>\n

CALLER:\u00a0 My point is this: I think that if he had shown a little more humility and a little less hubris —<\/p>\n

RUSH:\u00a0 To who?<\/p>\n

CALLER:\u00a0 I\u2019m sorry?<\/p>\n

RUSH:\u00a0 You\u2019re still —<\/p>\n
