Woods, Glen Doherty, and Ambassador Stevens to die in Benghazi.\u00a0 Van Jones on CNN stated that she should just get over it.\u00a0 Chris Matthews said that it ruined their evening &#8212; that is the GOP\u2019s evening &#8212; by allowing her to speak and that everybody knew that what she was saying wasn\u2019t true.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH:\u00a0 Right.\u00a0 The Washington Post said that her speech took the convention into the gutter.<\/p>\n<p>CALLER:\u00a0 Well, Cindy Sheehan? I seem to recall when she was being held up as a paragon of virtue, when she was venting her bile and bereavement.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH:\u00a0 You know, that is an excellent point.\u00a0 You are exactly right.\u00a0 They were parading Cindy Sheehan around everywhere.\u00a0 She lost a son in the Iraq war, and she was a rock star everywhere the Democrat Party had an event.\u00a0 And the media followed her everywhere and made her a great hero and spokeswoman.\u00a0 They even made documentaries movies about her, if I recall.\u00a0 But Patricia Smith? She\u2019s horrible.\u00a0 A little bit of what she said, grab sound bite 21 and give just a bit of.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/TN1RvEmMPLk\" width=\"585\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>SMITH:\u00a0 For all of this loss, for all of this grief, for all of the citizens of the tragedy in Benghazi has brought upon America, I blame Hillary Clinton.<\/p>\n<p>CONVENTION: (cheers)<\/p>\n<p>SMITH: I blame Hillary Clinton personally for the death of my son.\u00a0 In an email to her daughter shortly after the attack, Hillary Clinton blamed it on terrorism.\u00a0 But when I saw Hillary Clinton at Sean\u2019s coffin ceremony just days later, she looked me squarely in the eye and told me a video was responsible.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH:\u00a0 She did! She was telling everyone that! Obama, too.\u00a0 They were lying to everybody about that video and so forth.\u00a0 And see, this woman was personally lied to, and Cindy Sheehan was running around blaming George W. Bush and Rumsfeld and everybody else. The media would then go question Bush about it, and they would go question Rumsfeld. They\u2019d give Cindy Sheehan every ounce of credibility they could give her.\u00a0 That is an excellent, excellent point.\u00a0 Look, I want you to hear a little bit of Rudy last night if you didn\u2019t, because one of the objectives of the coverage of Melania today is to make sure nobody saw Rudy.\u00a0 We\u2019ve got a bunch of bites. We\u2019ll try to squeeze a number of them in here starting with number 27.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/2_GVUcpZ9ZM\" width=\"585\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>GUILIANI:\u00a0 We say thank you to every police officer and law enforcement agent who\u2019s out tonight protecting us!<\/p>\n<p>CONVENTION: (cheers and applause)<\/p>\n<p>GIULIANI: Black, white, Latino, of every race, every color, every creed, every sexual orientation.<\/p>\n<p>CONVENTION: (applause)<\/p>\n<p>GIULIANI: When they come to save your life, they don\u2019t ask if you are black or white!<\/p>\n<p>CONVENTION: (wild cheers and applause)<\/p>\n<p>GIULIANI:\u00a0\u00a0 They just come to save you!<\/p>\n<p>RUSH:\u00a0 And so people were saying, &#8220;He was too caffeinated! He was too wild! He was making too many gestures. He was just shouting! It was too much,&#8221; and they\u2019re worried, \u2019cause that means he was too effective.\u00a0 And this one, this was a great sound bite.<\/p>\n<p>GIULIANI:\u00a0 What happened to&#8230;?<\/p>\n<p>CONVENTION: (cheers and applause)<\/p>\n<p>GIULIANI: What happened to, &#8220;There\u2019s no black America, there\u2019s no white America, there is just America?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>CONVENTION: (cheers and applause)<\/p>\n<p>GIULIANI:\u00a0 What happened to it? Where did it go?\u00a0 How has it flown away?\u00a0 I know we can change it because I did it by changing New York City from the crime capital of America to the safest large city in the United States.\u00a0 What I did for New York, Donald Trump will do for America!<\/p>\n<p>CONVENTION: (cheers and applause)<\/p>\n<p>RUSH:\u00a0 That was a direct hit there on Obama, who got great credit in 2004 for his convention speech saying, &#8220;There is no black America, there\u2019s no white America, there\u2019s no red states, there\u2019s no blue states.&#8221; And of course Rudy is asking, &#8220;Where is that America?\u00a0 What happened to it?&#8221;\u00a0 Well, we all know.\u00a0 And here\u2019s Rudy defending Trump, and doing it pretty well.<\/p>\n<p><img id=\"eZObject_125001\" class=\"img_right\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/491877628_large.jpg\" align=\"right\" \/>GUILIANI:\u00a0 Every time New York suffered a tragedy, Donald Trump was there to help.\u00a0 He\u2019s not gonna like my telling you this, but he did it anonymously. When police officers were shot, when fighters were hurt, when people were in trouble, he came forward, and he helped, and he asked not to be mentioned.\u00a0 I am telling you this because I am sick and tired of the defamation of Donald Trump by the media and by the Clinton campaign.\u00a0 I am sick and tired of it!<\/p>\n<p>CONVENTION: (wild cheers and applause)<\/p>\n<p>GIULIANI: This is a good man!<\/p>\n<p>RUSH:\u00a0 Rudy Giuliani, who was the firebrand of the night last night in what all in all was a really good night, first night for the Republican convention.\u00a0 Tonight, it\u2019s Mitch McConnell, Paul Ryan, Chris Christie, Ben Carson, a lot of elected Republicans on the podium tonight at the Republican convention.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>RUSH: Jack in Nashville.\u00a0 Hello, sir.\u00a0 How are you?
