{"id":213998,"date":"2016-07-19T18:39:23","date_gmt":"2016-07-19T22:39:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/172.24.32.11\/daily\/2016\/07\/19\/bernstein_sounds_the_culture_war_alarm\/"},"modified":"2017-07-11T10:50:51","modified_gmt":"2017-07-11T14:50:51","slug":"bernstein_sounds_the_culture_war_alarm","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/admin.rushlimbaugh.com\/daily\/2016\/07\/19\/bernstein_sounds_the_culture_war_alarm\/","title":{"rendered":"Bernstein Sounds the Culture War Alarm"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/live-rush-limbaugh.pantheonsite.io\/videos\/37\/72306\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><img class=\"alignright\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/listentoit.jpg\" alt=\"Listen to it Button\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<section>RUSH: So I just got a sound bite here from Carl Bernstein, famous for being a part of Woodward and Bernstein, who are accredited and acclaimed for destroying Richard Nixon.\u00a0 Carl Bernstein was on CNN\u2019s Newsroom this afternoon with Brooke Baldwin, and they were talking about the first night of the Republican convention.<\/p>\n<p>Now, Bernstein is a connected leftist.\u00a0 I mean, he\u2019s a joke to many of us, but to them, this guy is the Guru.\u00a0 I mean, he goes way, way back, and his take on things is seen as representative of what the deep, dark left actually believes before they go out and lie about it.\u00a0 So, given your understanding of that, listen to this.<\/p>\n<p><img id=\"eZObject_124973\" class=\"img_middle\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/Bernstein-Flashing-Lights.gif\" align=\"middle\" \/>BERNSTEIN:\u00a0 This election is the Gettysburg of the culture wars.\u00a0 It is that important.\u00a0 Whoever wins this election, the culture wars may be over, but they\u2019re never gonna be the same.\u00a0 It is about two Americas.\u00a0 Whoever wins, we are going to see a different America.\u00a0 And that &#8212; what we saw in the hall last night was that battle being waged, and I think somewhat effectively in terms of those who are in the middle, who are independents, I think that there was some ground gained in the culture wars last night for the Trump people.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH:\u00a0 Now, I\u2019m telling you that Bernstein going on television, saying that, that tells us what they really think.\u00a0 Before they go out and start commenting on how rotten and horrible the mother of the Benghazi victim was and how Melania was a plagiarist and all that, what they\u2019re really thinking, you know, these people, they made a great play, the Trump people made a great play for the independents last night, and they did it on the culture, the basis of culture, and the disintegrating moral rot that is taking over our culture.\u00a0 And Bernstein\u2019s very much aware of it and very much concerned that last night was a good night for that aspect.<\/p>\n<p>By the way, I think he\u2019s right about this culture war business.\u00a0 I don\u2019t think there is any question.\u00a0 We\u2019ve been in a culture war for decades now, but I think he\u2019s right.\u00a0 This election\u2019s gonna determine the ultimate winner.\u00a0 And, by the way, the left is winning it, folks.\u00a0 I just spoke eloquently, I think, too, about the lack of any moral authority in our culture.\u00a0 There isn\u2019t anybody with any moral authority.\u00a0 <a href=\"http:\/\/live-rush-limbaugh.pantheonsite.io\/daily\/2016\/07\/19\/this_convention_scares_liberals_to_death\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><img id=\"eZObject_124998\" class=\"img_middle\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/GOPconv-2016-Truth-Detector-B.jpg\" align=\"middle\" \/><\/a>Nobody\u2019s allowed to have any.\u00a0 That has been one of the objectives of the left, is to destroy any sense that anybody can define morality.<\/p>\n<p>Morality doesn\u2019t exist.\u00a0 What you want to do is what being an American means.\u00a0 And there is no limit to it, and anybody that tries to limit you is a bigot or is prejudiced or is racist or is homophobic or is whatever else.\u00a0 There is no morality.\u00a0 Nobody gets to define what\u2019s right and wrong, because the left knows that if anybody\u2019s able to do that other than them, they\u2019re gonna be on the wrong side much more than they\u2019re gonna be on the right side.\u00a0 And they don\u2019t want that.\u00a0 They hate judgmentalism.\u00a0 They despise it.\u00a0 And that\u2019s what they think of morality.\u00a0 Hence, that\u2019s why we have the culture war.\u00a0 Some simple concepts as right and wrong.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;You don\u2019t get to determine that,&#8221; they tell us.\u00a0 That\u2019s not up to you, and it\u2019s not up to anybody, and it\u2019s not up to the Bible, \u2019cause they don\u2019t believe in the Bible.\u00a0 The Bible is a bunch of phony baloney, plastic banana, good-time rock &#8216;n\u2019 rollism.\u00a0 Not the Bible.\u00a0 The Bible is a bunch of gunk.\u00a0 God didn\u2019t exist.\u00a0 That\u2019s just made up by a bunch of people to give them authority and power.\u00a0 They don\u2019t want to think about it.\u00a0 That\u2019s why the environment is God or any other inanimate object becomes the deity, because there is no learned morality that descends from it.<\/p>\n<p>Don\u2019t doubt me on this, folks.\u00a0 When you take the morality away, when you take away moral authority, when you seek and succeed in blowing it up so that there isn\u2019t anybody that\u2019s perceived to have any and you\u2019re not allowed to define it for a mass culture, you have free reign to do whatever you want to do without any condemnation, without any guilt, without any doubt.<\/p>\n<p>And we are right smack-dab in the middle of it, and it is exactly what is happening.\u00a0 And last night the speakers, people that gave speeches, whether they intended to or not, were addressing the entire concept.\u00a0 This is what Bernstein picked up.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>RUSH: So I just got a sound bite here from Carl Bernstein, famous for being a part of Woodward and Bernstein, who are accredited and acclaimed for destroying Richard Nixon.\u00a0 Carl Bernstein was on CNN\u2019s Newsroom this afternoon with Brooke Baldwin, and they were talking about the first night of the Republican convention.
