CALLER:\u00a0 Thanks, Rush.\u00a0 I went into law enforcement in \u201973, retired in the late nineties, after 9\/11 went back to work with the Feds and left them in 2009.\u00a0 My original question was, you know, why don\u2019t we call the demonstrators that are gonna be at the Republican National Convention Hillary supporters?\u00a0 They always make it sound like they\u2019re some neutral party, but you can bet that if there was big demonstrations at the Democratic convention, they\u2019d call \u2019em Trump supporters, so that was my food for thought there.\u00a0 Everybody that\u2019s gonna be demonstrating at our convention are Hillary supporters but they always call them this innocuous “demonstrators” like they\u2019re just neutral parties that don\u2019t vote.<\/p>\n

But secondly, just since you\u2019re on the topic of the law enforcement killings and since my opinion would be prejudiced, we used to have a saying in law enforcement, that, one, if you want to be loved, be a fireman.\u00a0 And, two, the worst thing they can do to you in this job is kill you, but the beauty of that is they can only kill you once.\u00a0 It\u2019s a dangerous business.\u00a0 Every day it\u2019s dangerous.\u00a0 It isn\u2019t like when something like this happens in Baton Rouge the officers are gonna say, “We\u2019re not gonna go back out there, it\u2019s too dangerous.”\u00a0 You put on your uniform every day and go out there.\u00a0 That\u2019s about it.<\/p>\n

RUSH:\u00a0 That\u2019s true.\u00a0 No, that\u2019s absolutely true.\u00a0 But I want to go back to your first point.\u00a0 I was looking for something and I found it while you were making your point.\u00a0 It\u2019s a good point.\u00a0 You have people protesting at the Republican convention, and they\u2019re legit, and they are a great legacy, they have connections to the great protesters of the past. They\u2019re practicing the great fine American art of dissent, and they\u2019re opposing the radicalism that\u2019s coming out of the Republican convention.<\/p>\n

If anybody shows up at a Hillary protest event, they\u2019re called Trump supporters or worse.\u00a0 And they are not portrayed with any kind of legitimacy whatsoever.\u00a0 And, of course, it\u2019s done purposely for mind shaping and so forth.\u00a0 But here\u2019s something else the media isn\u2019t telling anybody about.\u00a0 And, you know, we have to deal with the polling data as it is, folks, because there\u2019s too many polls and it\u2019s too risky to discount the ones that you don\u2019t like, but I think there are two polls now, the LA Times has a poll and Rasmussen, that show Trump leading Hillary.\u00a0 There\u2019s an NBC News\/Wall Street Journal poll that shows Hillary lead — or maybe it\u2019s a Fox poll, I forget.\u00a0 Maybe it\u2019s ABC.\u00a0 It\u2019s one of the three.\u00a0 See, I don\u2019t even recall.\u00a0 I saw it on TV earlier, that Hillary\u2019s lead is shrinking.<\/p>\n

And the Democrats — do not doubt me on this — the Democrats in the deep, dark crevices of the bowels of their movement, they are petrified.\u00a0 Because these people come from the standard world of establishment politics.\u00a0 And in that world, Donald Trump ought not be getting 20% support from anybody.\u00a0 In their world, Donald Trump is the biggest idiot, buffoon that has ever entered politics and shouldn\u2019t have even 20% support and should be by now established as a full-fledged laughingstock. And, by extension, Hillary Clinton should be leading this guy in easy double digits.<\/p>\n

But none of that is true and they are worried on the Democrat side.\u00a0 Now, the Drive-Bys are not gonna have a whole lot of stories about this.\u00a0 They will do some.\u00a0 The stories that the Drive-Bys do about this story will not be stories critical of Hillary.\u00a0 They\u2019ll be stories designed to warn the Democrats that they better start taking things seriously and they\u2019d better get in gear.<\/p>\n

And you\u2019ll have quotes from various Democrats, “You know, I wouldn\u2019t be surprised if Trump won this thing, it\u2019s very possible.”\u00a0 Like Dan Rather is out there saying.\u00a0 Dan Rather is out there warning these Democrats (imitating Rather), “You know, you people, it\u2019s not a slam dunk.\u00a0 This guy Trump can win this election.\u00a0 He can beat you.\u00a0 He can beat you like a possum in a swamp fox.” \u00a0Or whatever Rather would say.\u00a0 And he\u2019s out there saying, you better guard against being too radical on the left.<\/p>\n

So that\u2019s the tone of any negative Hillary story.\u00a0 You won\u2019t see this story in the American media.\u00a0 This is from the UK Guardian.\u00a0 Headline:\u00a0\u00a0“Democrats Struggle for Unity as Protesters Swarm Netroots Convention.”<\/a> Yeah, here\u2019s a story of protesters protesting Democrats, protesting Hillary.\u00a0 They are not happy campers, and the Drive-Bys in America are ignoring the story.\u00a0 Let me give you some details.<\/p>\n

“No sooner had the question been posed of where angry young activists would go after the Bernie Sanders campaign than a group of angry young activists provided the answer: to the streets. The surprise walk-out of protesters from a conference of US progressives in St Louis this weekend forced the cancellation of its panel on ‘translating [M]illennial votes into power.'”\u00a0\u00a0 This is the Netroots convention.\u00a0 It\u2019s held every year.<\/p>\n

Normally it\u2019s reported on, because the Netroots convention genuinely displays Democrat Party unity and progressive dominance of the Democrat Party and be so they happy report what\u2019s going on there.\u00a0 And you have all kinds of wackos, like Harry Reid and Hillary Clinton. They all go to this convention.\u00a0 But this year, the Netroots, they were all Bernie Sanders voters, and they are still ticked.\u00a0 They\u2019re mad that Bernie sold out. They\u2019re mad that Bernie was denied the nomination. They\u2019re mad that Bernie endorsed Hillary!<\/p>\n

They don\u2019t believe it, and they are mad, and they had a panel discussion slated for this convention called “translating [M]illennial votes into power,” and the panel was canceled because people walked out.\u00a0 That\u2019s right.\u00a0 “The surprise walk-out of protesters from a conference of US progressives in St Louis this weekend forced the cancellation of its panel on ‘translating millennial votes into power.\u2019 But here was more vivid testimony.<\/p>\n

“Despite Sanders urging his supporters to back Hillary Clinton in an official endorsement a few days earlier, the energy once captured by his campaign … appeared already to be slipping out of the hands of Democrats.\u00a0 Hands Up United — a group born of anti-police violence protests in nearby Ferguson — brought both the Netroots convention and surrounding freeways to a standstill, accusing the largely white [progressive] delegates of becoming ‘occupiers\u2019 in the ‘disunited States of America\u2019.<\/p>\n

<\/a>“‘Mic check, mic check,\u2019 they chanted, in an echo of the Occupy movement that used voices in the street to amplify its message.\u00a0 Across the corridor in another unofficial Netroots spin-off, a different group of activists were plotting to do the same on a bigger stage in Philadelphia, where the Democratic [P]arty is holding its national convention in a week\u2019s time. Democracy Spring is planning non-violent civil disobedience on a daily basis, scheduling sit-ins and mass arrests until the party promises to scrap the system of super-delegates that” denied Bernie the nomination.<\/p>\n

By the way, folks, history has taught us that when any Democrat protest group plans “nonviolent civil disobedience,” you better plan on violence.\u00a0 You\u2019d better plan on head knocking.\u00a0 You\u2019d better plan on fires and overturned police cars. You better plan on riots. Because when they pledge nonviolent civil disobedience, that\u2019s when riots happen.\u00a0 So at the Netroots convention there was division among all of these progressives.\u00a0 There was racial division, the progressives that were in there for Bernie, or Hillary perceived to be all white. They got ripped off and ticked off by African-American Netroots protesters.\u00a0 And a lot of the panels of this convention were shut.\u00a0 And you haven\u2019t probably seen a word of this because it is rampant discord among the Democrats, particularly among young voters.<\/p>\n

RUSH:\u00a0 Okay.\u00a0 We\u2019re gonna transition here by way of the phones to the Republican convention and presidential politics.\u00a0 Folks, by the way, the fact that we\u2019re not getting to this until at this point in time in the second hour does not mean I\u2019m not interested in it.\u00a0 I\u2019ve had a couple of questions in the email.\u00a0 “Are you really this uninterested in the convention that you haven\u2019t yet talk about it?”\u00a0 No.\u00a0 No, no.\u00a0 It\u2019s just, nothing\u2019s gonna happen \u2019til tonight.<\/p>\n

We got the vice presidential nominee, and we got some sound bites coming up on this.\u00a0 There hasn\u2019t been any news made yet, so… (interruption) No, no, no.\u00a0 Folks, I\u2019m not… I don\u2019t speak to you from the political handbook.\u00a0 My job here is not to promote the various aspects of the convention and whatever they\u2019re doing there.\u00a0 But I got a whole Stack of Stuff.\u00a0 If you just be patient, it\u2019s all coming up.\u00a0 But I guess we\u2019re gonna instigate it with Jimmy here in Naples.\u00a0 Great to have you, sir.\u00a0 Hello.<\/p>\n

CALLER:\u00a0 Hey, Rush.\u00a0 It\u2019s an honor to talk to you.<\/p>\n

RUSH:\u00a0 Thank you very much, Jimmy.\u00a0 I appreciate that.<\/p>\n

CALLER:\u00a0 I remember I first heard your name; I thought it was a cheese.\u00a0 Now, that\u2019s going back a long time ago.<\/p>\n

RUSH:\u00a0 That\u2019s one of those Limburger jokes that you\u2019re making.\u00a0 Yeah, I\u2019ve heard that a lot.<\/p>\n

CALLER:\u00a0 Okay, the reason why I called, the Republicans and the Democrats are very afraid of Donald Trump because nobody owns Donald.\u00a0 And if he gets to the White House, he\u2019s gonna start poking around, and is gonna wonder why this happened and this happened, and all of a sudden start pulling on the string. A lot of people are gonna get embarrassed; some might even go to jail.\u00a0 And it\u2019s both sides. People are afraid of him.<\/p>\n

RUSH:\u00a0 Wait, wait. Hold it a minute. Hold it a minute.\u00a0 I lost you there. People are gonna…? Pulling on strings?\u00a0 Who? What…? What does “pulling on a string mean”?<\/p>\n

CALLER:\u00a0 Donald. Donald, when he becomes president, okay, he\u2019s going to wonder why people were let off the hook.<\/p>\n

RUSH:\u00a0 You mean like Hillary?<\/p>\n

CALLER:\u00a0 Like Hillary, and other people.<\/p>\n

RUSH:\u00a0 Who?\u00a0 Only \u2019cause I just —<\/p>\n

CALLER:\u00a0 Hillary\u2019s husband.<\/p>\n

RUSH:\u00a0 Like Bill Clinton.\u00a0 Okay.<\/p>\n

CALLER:\u00a0 Okay.\u00a0 And there\u2019s a lot of, you know —<\/p>\n

RUSH:\u00a0 I just wanted to understand what you were talking about.\u00a0 I appreciate your —<\/p>\n

CALLER:\u00a0 Yeah.<\/p>\n

RUSH:\u00a0 So what\u2019s Trump doing to “pull the string”?<\/p>\n

CALLER:\u00a0 What\u2019s gonna happen is he\u2019s gonna start finding out stuff.\u00a0 You don\u2019t need the money, and you don\u2019t need the fame.\u00a0 He honestly wants to do right.\u00a0 He\u2019s probably looking for a statue on Mount Rushmore.\u00a0 I mean, he really —<\/p>\n

RUSH:\u00a0 Oh, so your point is that lifelong Republicans, they only care about the next election and themselves, whereas Trump, he couldn\u2019t care less about the party and the next election; he cares about the country?<\/p>\n

CALLER:\u00a0 That\u2019s exact it — and not just the Republicans.\u00a0 The Republicans are… You know the difference between a Republican and a Democrat?\u00a0 The Democrat Party, they sell used cars.\u00a0 They\u2019re used car salesmen.\u00a0 The Republicans are new car salesmen.\u00a0 They\u2019re a bunch of salesmen.\u00a0 You know, they\u2019ll sell their own mother.\u00a0 But once you get someone in there that can\u2019t be bought, that don\u2019t need to buy nothing, he\u2019s gonna find out —<\/p>\n

RUSH:\u00a0 Folks, I get this.\u00a0 I know what\u2019s being said here.\u00a0 He\u2019s trying to explain why there\u2019s such opposition to Trump, which manifests itself into fear of Trump. Because Trump\u2019s not one of these guys, so he\u2019s not gonna care that these lifelong politicians of either party advance to get promoted by virtue of the traditional ways of kissing butt in the establishment.\u00a0 Trump doesn\u2019t care about any of that and he\u2019s gonna root out all this deadweight. He\u2019s gonna pull strings and get rid of all the criminal and near-criminal activity.
