RUSH:\u00a0 It\u2019s Open Line Friday.\u00a0 We head back to the phones here.\u00a0 We had a young man last week who was 11 years old that we didn\u2019t get to, last Open Line Friday.\u00a0 I told Mr. Snerdley to see if we could make arrangements to call him back because he held on for a while.\u00a0 So he\u2019s with us.\u00a0 His name is Jonathan from Rockingham, Virginia.\u00a0 And I\u2019m so happy that you let us call you back and that you\u2019re here today, Jonathan.\u00a0 How are you?<\/p>\n

CALLER:\u00a0 I\u2019m good, how are you?<\/p>\n

RUSH:\u00a0 Well, I\u2019m doing pretty well, all things considered.\u00a0 And I\u2019m glad that you\u2019re here.\u00a0 What\u2019s up?\u00a0 What did you want to talk about last week?<\/p>\n

CALLER:\u00a0 Oh, I wanted to thank you for writing the books<\/a> for a couple of reasons.\u00a0 One of them being that in some of the schools they won\u2019t teach the kids the truth about real history, but your books are telling the truth so that the kids will know what\u2019s right.<\/p>\n

<\/a>RUSH:\u00a0 I cannot thank you enough for that assessment.\u00a0 You know what I saw last week?\u00a0 It might have been earlier this week.\u00a0 There was a story, Jonathan, it was in the Wall Street Journal,<\/a> and it was somebody that had studied 73 top universities and colleges in America, and they found that at, I think 55 of them, you can get a degree in history without learning American history.\u00a0 You don\u2019t have to learn American history, because it\u2019s deemed not that important to worldwide events; that other things are more important.\u00a0 And that\u2019s what\u2019s being taught.<\/p>\n

So it\u2019s just incredible.\u00a0 Here we are in America, 55 top universities — I don\u2019t have the names of the colleges, universities — you get a history degree without even learning about American history.\u00a0 And that doesn\u2019t count the lies that kids are being told about American history in junior high and high school and so forth.\u00a0 So I\u2019m flattered that you like the books and that you\u2019re learning something from them.\u00a0 Have you read them all?<\/p>\n

CALLER:\u00a0 I\u2019m in the middle of the fourth one.\u00a0 My favorite one is the first one about the pilgrims.<\/p>\n

RUSH:\u00a0 Right.\u00a0 Why do you like that the best?<\/p>\n

CALLER:\u00a0 Because of what I just said.\u00a0 What they say about that is that they just came, but then the book is telling the kids why they came and that\u2019s because they wanted to —<\/p>\n

RUSH:\u00a0 You know, you\u2019re right about that.\u00a0 I think we hear from a lot of people that read the books at your age, that they really like book one because it\u2019s easy to understand. The pilgrim story is actually the story of the first Thanksgiving and how the truth of that isn\u2019t told anymore.\u00a0 And this book teaches it.\u00a0 And it\u2019s easy to grasp.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s what\u2019s so important about the first book.\u00a0 The first book shows very simply how American history is being mistaught and the truth about it is not being told.\u00a0 You pick that up in the first book easier than, I think, the others.\u00a0 The others, they\u2019re a little more complicated in terms of the other books tackle a few more events in history than simply one event like the pilgrims arriving.<\/p>\n

CALLER:\u00a0 I\u2019d also like to tell you that I\u2019ve done book reports in my English class about the books.<\/p>\n

RUSH:\u00a0 Well, I appreciate that.\u00a0 How have those gone?<\/p>\n
