RUSH: Ted Cruz went to the floor of the Senate yesterday to talk about the incident in Orlando.  See what you think of this.  We have three bites.  Here\u2019s the first one…<\/p>\n

CRUZ:  Democrat after Democrat, standing for hours, incensed not at ISIS — incensed not at radical Islamic terrorism — incensed that Americans have the right to keep and bear arms.  I think the American people find it ridiculous that, in response to an ISIS terror attack, the Democrats go on high dudgeon that we\u2019ve gotta restrict the Second Amendment rights of law-abiding citizens.<\/p>\n

RUSH:  Well, ten years ago I would agree with him.  But I don\u2019t think that\u2019s the case anymore.  I don\u2019t think it\u2019s… Folks, I really don\u2019t think we can now say, quote, “I think the American people find it ridiculous that, in response to an ISIS terror attack, the Democrats blame the Second Amendment.”  I don\u2019t think a majority of Americans do blame the Democrats.  I think more Americans than you would care to admit agree with the Democrats. <\/line><\/p>\n

Let\u2019s be honest about this. Democrats have succeeded, via the educational system, in really dumbing down two generations of Americans.  You know, I\u2019m gonna find that Howard Zinn story.  I\u2019m gonna lead with that in the monologue segment the next hour.  It will explain a lot.  All you have to do is patrol social media. All you have to do is look at the comments on I don\u2019t care what website you go to. The ignorance, the anger, the outrage at us is everywhere. <\/p>\n

You don\u2019t find any outrage at ISIS on social media!<\/p>\n

You don\u2019t find any outrage at terrorism. <\/p>\n

You don\u2019t find any. <\/p>\n

The anger is full-throated and singularly concentrated on us!<\/p>\n

Ten years ago it would have been accurate to say the American people find it ridiculous that in response to a terror attack, the Democrats blame the Second Amendment and law-abiding citizens.  I think it\u2019s applauded by a lot of Americans today.  That\u2019s why we\u2019re in the situation.  That\u2019s why we have the problem that we have.  If it were otherwise, Barack Obama\u2019s approval would be 25%, folks.  It be 30, 35.  How is it that George W. Bush\u2019s approval was at 30 and Barack Obama\u2019s at 53?  We are assuming the polls are accurate.  It\u2019s dangerous to not do that because can\u2019t start cherry-picking. <\/line><\/p>\n

Here\u2019s the next Cruz sound bite…<\/p>\n

CRUZ:  Over and over again, we have seen the Obama administration having ample information to stop a terrorist attack.  And yet, because of the political correctness, because of the ideology of this administration that won\u2019t even say the word “jihad,” won\u2019t even say the word\u2019s “radical Islamic terrorism,” they look the other way, and the attacks go forward.<\/p>\n

RUSH:  Let\u2019s squeeze the final one in.  I can only do that with no commentary.  Here goes…<\/p>\n

CRUZ:  President Obama and Vice President Biden are going down.  They will no doubt give a self-righteous speech about gun control, trying to strip away the rights of law-abiding Americans.  How about them standing up and having the president pledge that ISIS will be driven from the face of the earth?  You want to see a response to murdering innocent Americans? “If you declare war on America, you\u2019re signing your death warrant.”  That is the response of a commander-in-chief.  That\u2019s the seriousness we need.<\/p>\n

RUSH:  Well, why don\u2019t we have it?  And why aren\u2019t the American people outraged that we don\u2019t have it?  Hmm?  There have to be answers to both of my questions.  <\/p>\n<\/section>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
