RUSH:  Okay.  You want to hear something?  You may remember this once I jog your memory.  Do you remember back in 2010, 2011, Obama became alarmed when we essentially gave up on Iraq because Obama was trying to establish that he was a president of peace?  How\u2019s that working out?  We have more wars going on with this guy in the Oval Office than we had with Bush, or Bush, or Reagan, or Clinton. <\/p>\n

But the point is this.  When Iraq was abandoned — and, of course, we didn\u2019t have to abandon it.  We chose to abandon Iraq under a false premise that they would not grant our soldiers immunity from any actions that were taken in defense of Iraq for the world court, that kind of — I forget the name of it, but it was a phony — the Iraqis offered it to us, we turned it down.  We wanted to get out of there, and this left Iraq in a position of the Wild West. <\/line><\/p>\n

And it turned out, you know what Obama did to deal with it?  He banned all immigration from Iraq. Just with a stroke of a pen, the waving of his magic wand, the Obama Regime stopped processing Iraq refugee requests for six months in 2011.  We might have been among the first to pass that on to you. <\/p>\n

Now, everybody today is saying you can\u2019t do that.  Hillary Clinton\u2019s mocking it. Obama\u2019s mocking it, you can\u2019t do that. You can\u2019t build a wall. You can\u2019t stop \u2019em. We don\u2019t have papers.  Obama did it.  They say you can\u2019t stop immigration.  We as a nation shut down immigration from about 1924 to 1965.  Every time I mention that people are shocked.  People thinking immigration, legal immigration happens all the time.  We shut it down from 1924 to 1965. <\/p>\n

You know why?  Because we had been flooded about so many immigrants, we to take time to stop it so those that arrived could assimilate and become Americans.  That doesn\u2019t happen anymore.  This story is from November 18th, 2015.  It\u2019s from the Federalist website<\/a>.  “Although the Obama administration currently refuses to temporarily pause its Syrian refugee resettlement program in the United States, the State Department in 2011 stopped processing Iraq refugee requests for six months after the Federal Bureau of Investigation uncovered evidence that several dozen terrorists from Iraq had infiltrated the United States via the refugee program.”<\/p>\n

Obama even tweeted.  There\u2019s a President Obama tweet here @POTUS: “Slamming the door in the face of refugees would betray our deepest values. That\u2019s not who we are. And it\u2019s not what we\u2019re going to do.”  That\u2019s 18, November 2015.  This is last year, when everybody\u2019s begging him to put a moratorium on all these refugees.  Europe was being flooded with able-bodied, military-aged men who were fleeing their homelands, Syria and elsewhere, and they were flooding Europe, and they were flooding the United States, and Obama was welcoming them in.  People said, “Shut it down, stop it.  We don\u2019t know who\u2019s coming in yet.”  Obama tweeted: “Slamming the door in the face of refugees would betray our deepest values. That\u2019s not who we are.”  There\u2019s that line again, “That\u2019s not who we are. That\u2019s not our values.”<\/p>\n

I get nervous when he starts talking who we are, \u2019cause I don\u2019t think I\u2019m included in the “we.”  And I don\u2019t think he\u2019s talking about my values when he starts talking about these imaginary values he wants to establish and maintain.  And I know I\u2019m not part of the “we” when he says, “That\u2019s not who we are.” <\/line><\/p>\n

Anyway, he did shut down all refugee requests — i.e., immigration — from Iraq for six months in 2011, and then four years later he said, “Can\u2019t do it, not who we are, not what we\u2019re gonna do, would betray our deepest values.”  The point is, it can be done.  He just doesn\u2019t want to, nor does Hillary Clinton. <\/p>\n

“After two terrorists were discovered in Bowling Green, Kentucky, in 2009, the FBI began reviewing reams of evidence taken from improvised explosive devices (IEDs) that had been used against American troops in Iraq. Federal investigators then tried to match fingerprints from those bombs to the fingerprints of individuals who had recently entered the United States as refugees.”<\/p>\n

We can find \u2019em.  We know who they are.  We just choose not to.  This is what makes people suspicious, \u2019cause it doesn\u2019t make common sense.  We\u2019ve got events like Orlando happening and San Bernardino, and the Regime makes no effort to stem the tide.  It\u2019s a common-sense reaction to say, “What the hell is going on?  Why?”  It\u2019s a very commonsensical question. <\/p>\n

CALLER:  Thanks, Rush.  Great to talk to you.  I\u2019m a longtime listener, but first-time caller.<\/p>\n

RUSH:  Thank you very much.<\/p>\n

CALLER:  I\u2019m 56 years old, and my heart is in my stomach.  What\u2019s going on in our country is so sad.  Why can\u2019t we learn from the past?  I mean, there\u2019s been so much hate by Muslims in this country and across the world since the seventeenth century.  I mean, Muslims are moving into Paris —<\/p>\n

RUSH:  It\u2019s a great question, but you\u2019re looking at the wrong past.  Obama\u2019s not looking at that past.  He\u2019s looking at America\u2019s past.<\/p>\n

CALLER:  I know.  Well, then you just gotta go back to 1968 when Bobby Kennedy was shot.  He was killed by a Muslim.<\/line><\/p>\n

RUSH:  That\u2019s not the past Obama sees, either.<\/p>\n

CALLER:  I just don\u2019t understand — (laughing)<\/p>\n

RUSH:  Obama sees — no, no, no.  No, this is a serious point, now.  I know I\u2019m a naturally funny guy.<\/p>\n

CALLER:  Oh, I love you.<\/p>\n

RUSH:  But I\u2019m not trying to be funny here.  You say, “Why don\u2019t we look at the past?  Why don\u2019t we learn from the past?”  Obama looks at the past; he sees things in our past, in our history that he abhors.  But you and I don\u2019t.  He thinks this country is laden with so much guilt, we have behaved so badly that we owe so many people so much in the form of apologizes and reciprocity and so forth. He sees really, really rotten behavior by America in the past.<\/p>\n

CALLER:  Right.  He\u2019s trying to bring the country to its knees, from the inside out, is my feeling.<\/p>\n

RUSH:  I don\u2019t think it\u2019s that.  I think he\u2019s trying to transform it.  I mean, I\u2019m not trying to think it, I know it.  I\u2019m just listening to what he says.  This country needs to be transformed.  This country is ill-conceived, ill-behaved.  It\u2019s not a mystery anymore, folks.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
