REPORTER: Mr. Trump, uh, Republican primary, you —<\/p>\n

RUSH: He\u2019s in Bismarck, North Dakota.<\/p>\n

REPORTER:\u00a0 — attacked your opponents for, uh, you know, being defunded by big donors, big-money donors. You\u2019ve started, now, fund-raising with some really big ticket fundraisers.\u00a0 How do you convince your supporters that you\u2019re not going to become the puppet that your accused your opponents of being?<\/p>\n

TRUMP:\u00a0 Well, I\u2019m no puppet, and I\u2019ll tell you, I\u2019m raising the money for the party — largely for the party — and we intend to raise a lot of money for the party.\u00a0 I have no idea how much, but we\u2019re raising it for senators, for congressmen, congresswomen —<\/p>\n

RUSH:\u00a0 It would be a record.<\/p>\n

TRUMP: \u00a0— you know, a lot of the people that are running. We want to go in; we want to have majorities. It\u2019s very important. We have a tremendous staff of people.\u00a0 We raised last night… Actually we raised in Los Angeles, we raised a lot of money for the party, and this is money that is going into the RNC, and we are going to have, I think, a tremendous… We\u2019re getting thanked all over by the Republican senators, by congressmen, and hopefully we\u2019re gonna raise a lot of money. But this is money that\u2019s being raised for the party —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah.<\/p>\n

TRUMP: — and I think we\u2019re going to have a tremendous success.\u00a0 I\u2019m also continuing to fund big portions of my campaign.<\/p>\n

TRUMP: Go ahead.<\/p>\n

REPORTER:\u00a0 Mr. Trump, uh, Mr. Manafort was also quoted as saying that if you did release your taxes, that he wouldn\u2019t advise it because it would just serve to help year adversaries.\u00a0 You seem to sound as if you\u2019re not going to release the taxes —<\/p>\n

TRUMP:\u00a0 No, no. I\u2019m releasing when we\u2019re finished with the audit.\u00a0 I have to say the IRS has been very professional, and they continue to be very professional, and when they finish… I\u2019ve been audited, however, for 15 years, and I don\u2019t know of very many people that have been audited for 15 years.<\/p>\n

RUSH:\u00a0 I have!<\/p>\n

TRUMP:\u00a0 I\u2019m audited all the time, so I don\u2019t know what that\u2019s all about.<\/p>\n

RUSH:\u00a0 I have.<\/p>\n

TRUMP:\u00a0 But the IRS has been very professional, and as we move along, as soon as that\u2019s finished, whenever that may be — and hopefully it\u2019s gonna be before the election — I\u2019m fine with it.\u00a0 Okay?<\/p>\n

REPORTER:\u00a0 Just to be very specific on this: You do pay some federal taxes?<\/p>\n

TRUMP:\u00a0 I do.\u00a0 Yeah.<\/p>\n

REPORTER: You do!<\/p>\n

TRUMP: I do.\u00a0 Yes.<\/p>\n

TRUMP: \u00a0David?\u00a0 David, go ahead.<\/p>\n

REPORTER:\u00a0 Mr. Trump, um, in the wake of yesterday\u2019s, uh, inspector general report — the State Department — about Hillary Clinton emails, you said you have doubts on whether or not she could stay in the race against you.\u00a0 Are you prepared right now to, in fact, call on her to get out of the race so that Americans have more confidence in the integrity of their government?<\/p>\n

TRUMP:\u00a0 Actually I want her in the race.\u00a0 I want to run against her.<\/p>\n

REPORTERS: (laughter)<\/p>\n

\"original\"TRUMP: Look, she has bad judgment.\u00a0 This was all bad judgment.\u00a0 Probably illegal.\u00a0 We\u2019ll have to find out what the FBI says about it, but certainly it was bad judgment.\u00a0 I just read the report. \u00a0It\u2019s devastating, the report. It\u2019s devastating.<\/p>\n

RUSH:\u00a0 Very bad.\u00a0 Very bad.<\/p>\n

TRUMP:\u00a0 There\u2019s no reason for it.\u00a0 It\u2019s just, you know, skirting on the edge all the time, and you look back at her history, and this is her history.\u00a0 It\u2019s a very, very harsh report — done, really, by Democrats, if you think of it, appointed by Obama and done by Democrats.<\/p>\n

RUSH:\u00a0 That\u2019s right.\u00a0 That\u2019s right.<\/p>\n

TRUMP:\u00a0 So it\u2019s shocking to see it.\u00a0 It\u2019s shocking to see what she did, and really, more than anything else, it\u2019s bad judgment. But that\u2019s gonna be up to her whether she wants to continue running.<\/p>\n

RUSH:\u00a0 All right, we gotta take a break here.\u00a0 That\u2019s Trump. He\u2019s in Bismarck, North Dakota; that\u2019s his first press conference after crossing the 1,237 threshold.\u00a0 It\u2019s a good point.\u00a0 They can\u2019t say what they always say about this IG report. The “vast right-wing conspiracy” had nothing to do with it.<\/p>\n

RUSH:\u00a0 You know, stop and think of this.\u00a0 Back last June and July, Hillary Clinton was thought to be on the way to a coronation.\u00a0 Her nomination was a perfunctory, accepted thing.\u00a0 It was automatic. It was gonna happen. Just a matter of the calendar.\u00a0 And Trump was gonna implode and be sent packing in a mass moment of embarrassment.\u00a0 He was going to implode.\u00a0 Well, now Donald Trump has secured the GOP nomination, surpassing the 1,237 delegate threshold, and Mrs. Clinton cannot close the deal against Bernie Sanders.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s why I tell you, you just never know.\u00a0 It\u2019s a risky thing to start predicting long-range political outcomes (like it is anything), \u2019cause nobody\u2019s knows what\u2019s gonna happen, and nobody knows the things that are gonna transpire in the time frame in which a prediction is made.\u00a0 I try to, you know, refrain from it as much as I can, \u2019cause you just don\u2019t know.\u00a0 Nobody would have predicted… Well, I did, by the way.\u00a0 I predicted 80, 90% of this.\u00a0 I got audio sound bites here today to prove it if anybody wants it, but I don\u2019t want to waste time on that.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
