He\u2019s appearing here seven o\u2019clock this evening.\u00a0 I came about eight hours early so I could get on the scene and take a look at the gathering of folks.\u00a0 And it\u2019s palpable, Rush. It\u2019s palpable. The activity, the people &#8212; and I\u2019ve never seen so many normal people gathered in the center of Albuquerque as I am seeing today.<\/p>\n<p><img id=\"eZObject_122859\" class=\"img_middle\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/Trump-Plane-New-Mexico.jpg\" align=\"middle\" \/>RUSH:\u00a0 And this is for a Trump rally at the convention center tonight? Is that what you\u2019re saying?<\/p>\n<p>CALLER:\u00a0 There\u2019s a Trump rally at the convention center, and the interesting thing is, he\u2019s been shunned by the Republican leadership of New Mexico.\u00a0 You know, the Trump campaign had to dig around and find a different brand of conservative than most people are talking about these days.\u00a0 It seems like everybody\u2019s got some sort of lock on conservatism as to what it is.\u00a0 And in some people\u2019s book, it just does not fit Donald Trump.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH:\u00a0 Well, Jay, how is he being &#8220;shunned&#8221; by the Republican leadership there?\u00a0 How does that manifest?<\/p>\n<p>CALLER:\u00a0 Well, prime example: The governor, Susana Martinez, has stated publicly that she\u2019s too busy to attend the rally or even to meet with Donald Trump while he\u2019s in town.\u00a0 I think that\u2019s a serious slap in the face at the many, many Republicans that came to elect her, as well as a number of Democrats who crossed the line to elect her &#8212; many of whom, I\u2019m sure, will be supporters of Donald Trump.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH:\u00a0 Well, I know she endorsed Rubio.\u00a0 But he\u2019s &#8212;<\/p>\n<p>CALLER:\u00a0 Well, yeah.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: He\u2019s out of the race.\u00a0 So is everybody else out of the race.\u00a0 She\u2019s refusing to attend this thing? Now, is this a Trump rally at the convention center? There\u2019s no New Mexico Republican Party even tonight, is it? This is a Trump rally?<\/p>\n<p>CALLER:\u00a0 No, it\u2019s a Trump rally, and there\u2019s gonna be thousands of people here.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH:\u00a0 Right, it\u2019s not \u2019til tonight. But people are already lined up to make sure they get in, and Susana Martinez is not gonna go?<\/p>\n<p><img id=\"eZObject_122863\" class=\"img_middle\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/SusannaMartinez.jpg\" align=\"middle\" \/>CALLER:\u00a0 Susana Martinez&#8230; What she was quoted as saying on the local radio shows is she\u2019s too busy.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH:\u00a0 Wow.\u00a0 Okay.<\/p>\n<p>CALLER:\u00a0 Too busy.\u00a0 So, I think it\u2019s kind of a shame.\u00a0 I called the local folks yesterday and let \u2019em know my opinion of that.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH:\u00a0 Well, the reason I took your call, you know, I\u2019ve got the TV monitors on and there\u2019s been some stuff with Susana Martinez today. I didn\u2019t know what it was about because the chyron graphics just say she endorsed Rubio, but it didn\u2019t say anything else &#8212; and I wasn\u2019t able to listen to it, obviously, because I am hosting. So you have filled in the blanks. (sigh) I don\u2019t know.\u00a0 I guess I was a little surprised by it.<\/p>\n<p>But if she hasn\u2019t endorsed him, then I guess it makes sense that she would stay away.\u00a0 We\u2019ll see what happens here.\u00a0 It\u2019s still early.\u00a0 The thing doesn\u2019t start for a few hours now.\u00a0 The amazing thing is it starts at seven o\u2019clock tonight and there\u2019s people already in line, &#8220;more normal people in the center of Albuquerque&#8221; than this guy\u2019s ever seen.\u00a0 What kind of people are normally there, if there\u2019s more &#8220;normal people&#8221; in the center of Albuquerque there?\u00a0 Jay, I appreciate the call.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>RUSH: We have a guy from Albuquerque on the phone.\u00a0 Jay, is there something going on with Trump out there right now today?\u00a0 Is that what you\u2019re talking about?
