RUSH: Ladies and gentlemen, now that the climate change hoax has been exposed, what is Algore going to do? He has made the leap. He has made the leap to discredited, crackpot, overpopulation theories. It is amazing. “In an appearance Monday in New York City, former Vice President Al Gore, prominently known for his climate change activism, took on the subject of population size and the role of society in controlling it to reduce pollution. He offered some ideas about what might be done for [women] in the name of stabilizing population growth. ‘One of the things we could do about it is to change the technologies, to put out less of this pollution, to stabilize the population, and one of the principle ways of doing that is to empower and educate girls and women,\u2019 Gore said. <\/p>\n

“‘You have to have ubiquitous availability of fertility management so women can choose how many children to have, the spacing of the children.'” He has acknowledged that he has no interest, no intention of controlling any sexual urges, so women better be prepared to deal with guys like him — and they better be able to have access to abortion or what have you. There\u2019s much more to this. This is descent, folks, into inanity. Algore is doing Paul Ehrlich now: Overpopulation. The key is women. Women must be made to do the right thing, in order to save the planet.<\/p>\n

BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/p>\n

RUSH: Here is Algore, by the way. This was Monday, New York City. This the eighth annual Games for Change Festival, pre-festival summit. I have never heard of the Game for Change Festival — or Games for Change. I don\u2019t know what it is — and, by the way, folks, if I don\u2019t know what it is it\u2019s not worth knowing what it is. I\u2019m just happening to say that I never heard of it. Algore spoke at this thing and then there were Q&A, and during the Q&A this is what he said about the link between climate change and population.<\/p>\n

ALGORE: One of the things that we can do about it is to change the technologies, to put out less of this pollution, to stabilize population — and one of the principal ways of doing that to empower and educate girls and women. You have to have ubiquitous availability of, um, uh, fertility management so women, um, can choose how many, uh, children to have and the spacing of the children. When that happens, then the population begins to stabilize and societies begin to make better choices and more balanced choices.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Okay. So the climate hoax has blown up on Algore, so now he\u2019s moving to another discredited crackpot theory: Overpopulation. Which is a theorem that has been totally debunked. Now, again, the left lives in theory and utopia. It does not live in Realville like I do. You can\u2019t “debunk” it to them; it\u2019s a cause. It\u2019s a panic, it\u2019s a crisis; and therefore it will never, ever not exist. But we don\u2019t face a problem of overpopulation in the world. Now, I know, folks, it\u2019s really fun to say something like that, too, because you know the power of conventional wisdom and you know that there are people who believe and want to invest in Armageddon and apocalyptic-type things. So global warming? “Oh, yeah! Oh-ho-ho, yeah,” and overpopulation? “Oh, yeah! We\u2019re running out of food, running out of water. Oh, yeah.” <\/p>\n

People, they invest in this. Either it\u2019s their personality type or they\u2019re making money themselves off promulgating it or what have you — and for somebody like me to come along and say we don\u2019t have an overpopulation problem, and to say it with ontological certitude as I do? Why, that just rubs people the wrong way. If I were to say, “You know, folks, I\u2019ve thought about it and I\u2019m not sure. I\u2019ve gone back and forth. I really wish I knew for sure. I just don\u2019t think there\u2019s an overpopulation problem,” that would be far more acceptable to people than just coming in here and say, “THERE ISN\u2019T AN OVERPOPULATION PROBLEM. Don\u2019t believe that there is.” That rubs people the wrong way. You\u2019re not supposed to be that sure of yourself. <\/p>\n

It especially irritates women. Women don\u2019t like that kind of ontological certitude. It rubs them the wrong way. Just get in an airplane and fly anywhere you want to go. Fly over the United States and tell me we have a population problem. We do not. Now, there might be places around the world where it\u2019s crowded and we might, as human beings, make some errors and mistakes in where we choose to populate, but we\u2019re not overpopulated. The world, planet can still feed itself. The planet can still quench its thirst. The planet can still have people get around on the planet, wherever they want to go. The reason, ladies and gentlemen, that people think that there\u2019s an overpopulation problem is because of poverty. <\/p>\n

They see videos, movies, documentaries, still pictures, what have you; graphic images of people in dire economic straits suffering dire consequences, the depths of poverty and so forth. And, of course, it\u2019s a easy step (not logical, but easy) to make. “Oh, yeah, well, we\u2019re overpopulated. There\u2019s not enough food for everybody and there\u2019s not enough water for everybody.” But, see, that isn\u2019t true. The problem in the world today is not an unequal distribution of resources; the problem in the world is not enough resources. The problem is not enough capitalism. If you look where there is poverty and thus where people think there\u2019s overpopulation, you will find largely socialist or Marxist regimes, denying people freedom and liberty, economic opportunity, and what have you. <\/p>\n

The world is still able to feed itself. It\u2019s a massive undertaking, by the way. One of the things I\u2019m in profound awe of is the ability of this country (by the way) to feed not only itself, but the world, each and every day, and as affordably historically as we\u2019ve been able to do it. So global warming\u2019s a hoax, and here comes Algore now with his birth panels. All of a sudden we have a population problem, and he says that one of the things we could do about it is to “change technologies to put out less of this pollution.” Oh, he\u2019s still oriented around pollution. Too many people that\u2019s polluting the planet, global warming, climate change.<\/p>\n

Therefore his new solution is to get rid of people — or, more properly stated, to have fewer people born. We\u2019ll forget he has four. The rest of you, if he has his way, you\u2019re not gonna be able to have as many kids. You\u2019re the problem and you gotta pay the price, and you\u2019ll pay the price by not having as many children. Besides, it\u2019s better for the planet. It will save you money. There was a story yesterday (this stuff is interconnected) that having a child today costs an average family $1.2 million over the course of a lifetime of the child. See? It\u2019s not worth that. You could rethink it. “One of the things we can do is change technologies to put out less of this pollution. You have to have,” he said, “ubiquitous availability of fertility management.” <\/p>\n

I\u2019m gonna have to translate this for people in Rio Linda. They\u2019re lost here with “ubiquitous and fertility management.” Let me give you Gore\u2019s words, I\u2019ll translate it here in just a second. Gore said, “You have to have ubiquitous availability of fertility management so [women] can choose how many children they have and the spacing of the children.” So what Gore is doing here is acknowledging he has no intention of controlling his own sexual urges, so women had better be prepared to deal with guys lick him. Remember, he\u2019s divorced now and it\u2019s up to you women it limit yourselves, especially when he\u2019s around. You must have “ubiquitous availability of fertility management.” For those of you in Rio Linda what Algore is saying we need a Planned Parenthood shop on every corner, in every city in the country. That\u2019s all you have to know — and you know what goes on in Planned Parenthood places. <\/p>\n

He said, “You have to lift child survival rates so that parents feel comfortable having small families — and most important, you have to educate girls and empower women; and that\u2019s the most powerful leveraging factor; and when that happens, then the population begins to stabilize and societies begin to make better choices and more balanced choices.” What country is he talking about? Where has this theory been established? Is this a consensus of socialists and despots? Has he talked to the ChiComs about this? This sounds like China\u2019s forced-abortion policy, but here we go. So we have the firmly established hoax of global warming, and now it\u2019s time to scare you in a different way: You are having too many kids. You are polluting the planet. You are putting too much stress on our stressed resources. <\/p>\n

You, you, and you! <\/p>\n

You must reduce your activity and increase your number of abortions if you don\u2019t reduce your activity, all to save the planet — and this is a former vice president of the United States.<\/p>\n

BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/p>\n

RUSH: Tampa and Steve. I\u2019m glad you waited, sir. Welcome to the program.<\/p>\n

CALLER: My honor, Mr. Limbaugh, and dittos.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Thank you, sir, very much.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I was calling because the Algore business is symptomatic of what\u2019s wrong or one of the things that\u2019s wrong in Washington, and that is that people who have absolutely no idea about their technology are the ones who are declaiming the most. I do not know if you were in Florida at the time, but President Obama came down to Cape Kennedy and made a big speech about what would happen after the space shuttle. He wanted to send men to Mars, orbit them, and return. Basic problem is he has no idea of what\u2019s involved there. It would take 280 days just to get there, much less waiting for the planets to get in the right position for a return —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Wait, wait, wait just a sec. Why are you assuming he — do you think he just actually showed up at Cape Canaveral and essentially meant let\u2019s send somebody to Mars tomorrow?<\/p>\n

CALLER: No, no, no. But what he did is he was trying to be like JFK, remember, JFK wanted to send men to the moon and bring them back.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah, he didn\u2019t care that we ever do it. That\u2019s the difference. He wants credit for wanting to do it or thinking people want him to do it or say it. He doesn\u2019t intend to do that. He\u2019s gonna turn NASA into Muslim outreach.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Of course. I understand that, but most of the news media took it as real, which is to say he wants to send men to Mars, have them orbit the planet, and return. And unfortunately, given our current state of technology, that\u2019s gonna take a long time to go and to come back. Algore\u2019s doing the same thing with energy. Batteries are considered a primary energy source, which they\u2019re not. You have all these people who are declaiming about technological things and they obviously haven\u2019t the slightest idea —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Wait a second. You just said something here that a lot of people are gonna think you don\u2019t know what you\u2019re talking about. You happen to be right, but this illustrates I think what you\u2019re saying. You said batteries are considered a primary energy source and they\u2019re not, but most people think they are. Put a battery in a phone and it works.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yeah. I understand that. <\/p>\n

RUSH: Tell \u2019em what you mean then. No, no, tell \u2019em what you mean by it\u2019s not a primary energy source.<\/p>\n

CALLER: A battery is something that you store electricity into. Figure it like the equivalent of a canteen. You can\u2019t get any water out of a canteen until you put water into the canteen.<\/p>\n

RUSH: That\u2019s right.<\/p>\n

CALLER: You can\u2019t get any electricity out of a battery until you put it in, or do the equivalent by assembling the active parts that will give you that much electricity. But some people think that there\u2019s some sort of a magic electric fairy that just waves their wand and then suddenly you get electricity out of a battery.<\/p>\n

RUSH: That\u2019s right. They must, otherwise people, what are there, 200 of \u2019em, 200 people have actually bought electric cars knowing full well they\u2019re gonna get 20 miles to a charge.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, plus two other factors. One is they\u2019ve had electric cars for years, and they\u2019re called golf carts. The second one is that most people are still unaware of the fact that the majority of electric cars use fossil fuels to charge. <\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah.<\/p>\n

CALLER: So you\u2019re still getting all the so-called greenhouse gases if you charge up an electric car —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Okay, therefore we have another hoax. Look, this is one thing Obama does know. Obama does not think that the electric car is some magical new thing that\u2019s gonna save electricity. He knows it\u2019s the exact opposite. He knows it\u2019s gonna take coal-fired electricity plants to charge up his Volts. He knows that. Now, what he\u2019s counting on people not realizing it, not thinking about it. He is relying on or investing in people\u2019s stupidity or ignorance, because his objective is not to save the planet, his objective is not to save the climate. All of that, those things are just launching pads, if you will, to get where he ultimately wants to go, and that is total government control over as much life in the country as possible.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Oh, yes, I couldn\u2019t agree more on that.<\/p>\n

RUSH: He\u2019s never gonna get it coming out and saying that\u2019s what he wants, but he puts people in charge of losing their own freedom, and if they willingly do it, all the better. So if he can make people think they\u2019re responsible for warming the planet with their profligate use of fuel and make \u2019em go out and pay higher taxes and then go out and buy a cheap little car they don\u2019t really want as a means of forgiveness or paying penance, then they\u2019re doing his bidding for him while he\u2019s making \u2019em think they\u2019re great citizens. What they end up doing is give away their freedom, their economic prosperity or opportunity, all for a hoax. You know, we go back and forth on whether these people are stupid, brilliantly demonic, or what have you, and really it doesn\u2019t matter which is the case because it doesn\u2019t change what they\u2019re doing and what they\u2019re doing is totally transforming the country from the way it was founded and in the process destroying it. It\u2019s sad to see. <\/p>\n

CALLER: It\u2019s a privilege and an honor, sir. How are you today?<\/p>\n

RUSH: I understand. Thanks very much, sir.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I have been looking for an opportunity to call you and challenge you on something from a cynical point of view, and I find it today.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Go for it.<\/p>\n

CALLER: The United States definitely has a population problem. What I mean by that is that our population is growing at such a rate that our entitlement society cannot continue to sustain itself —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Ah, ah, ah, ah.<\/p>\n

CALLER: — especially given our immigration policy.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Ah, ah, ah, ah, ah. On the surface that sounds great. It\u2019s not correct to say that our population is growing. Our population isn\u2019t growing. The influx, you know, the birth replacement level in this country is not there. You know, Algore\u2019s out there telling women to have abortions, there are too many of them, there are too many happening. The birth replacement level in this country is below what it should be to keep the population where it is. Why do you think the Democrats want all these illegals to come in the country and become registered voters? It\u2019s because they\u2019re aborting their future voters.<\/p>\n

CALLER: But, Rush, I\u2019m not talking about our illegal immigration problem, which obviously is a problem, I\u2019m talking about our legal immigration problem where, when the laws were changed back in the 1960s, when we were bringing in about 250,000 or so a year, we started bringing in more and more where we\u2019re bringing in up to a million plus legal immigrants every year, and the people that we\u2019re bringing in are the people that are adding to our population and, of course, to the Democratic voting base.<\/p>\n

RUSH: I\u2019m gonna need some documentation on this because my research and understanding of legal immigration is occurring because we are not properly educating our own natural-born population, and the kids from around the world are coming here to be educated. Some leave and go back home. Some stay. But you talk to any high-tech people in Silicon Valley and they\u2019re desperate for changes in the Visa rules, \u2019cause they can\u2019t find qualified, educated people here to work. That\u2019s what they say, anyway.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I understand that. That\u2019s true, but if you\u2019re gonna —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Regardless, there\u2019s not a population — in the sense that, don\u2019t forget the context here. Gore and his population problem means we don\u2019t have enough food, we don\u2019t have enough water, we don\u2019t have enough shelter. No, that\u2019s not true. We can handle millions more in this country. We can feed millions more. Now, who pays for it, I agree it\u2019s a different thing, but that\u2019s really not what Gore is talking about nor is it what I was bouncing off of.<\/p>\n

CALLER: And you, as a genius have pointed out, Barack Obama, like Algore, knows exactly what they\u2019re talking about. We don\u2019t have a population problem in the United States; we have a Democratic voter population problem in the United States. And that\u2019s the target.<\/p>\n

RUSH: That\u2019s exactly right, that is exactly right. Well, I couldn\u2019t have said it better myself. That\u2019s a profound compliment. I don\u2019t say that to too many people.<\/p>\n

CALLER: NumbersUSA. They\u2019ve been around for quite a while, that\u2019s the website to go to and look at legal immigration problem which obviously doesn\u2019t touch the illegal immigration problem we have in the United States.<\/p>\n

RUSH: What do you mean, just in terms of numbers?<\/p>\n

CALLER: It\u2019s NumbersUSA.org —<\/p>\n

RUSH: No, no. You\u2019re talking about the numbers don\u2019t compare?<\/p>\n

CALLER: The numbers of legal immigrants versus our previous policies on legal immigration, yes.<\/p>\n
