CALLER: (whispering) How are you, Rush?<\/p>\n

RUSH: (whispering) Very good.<\/p>\n

CALLER: This is the second time I have had an opportunity to speak with you.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Thank you.<\/p>\n

CALLER: We need to get behind Mitt. We need to, because he\u2019s clean, Rush. He\u2019s clean. He\u2019s not corrupt.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Fine. Who is corrupt?<\/p>\n

CALLER: What I\u2019m talk about is the others, unfortunately, bring baggage and fodder for the libs to use against us.<\/p>\n

RUSH: I think Mitt is not going to offer opportunity. You think the Democrats gonna leave Mitt alone?<\/p>\n

CALLER: No, they\u2019re gonna attack him as virulently as they can possibly do, but show me something they can get on him.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Does it matter if they tell the truth?<\/p>\n

CALLER: (laughing) We both know it doesn\u2019t matter to them.<\/p>\n

RUSH: All right.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Whoever the nominee is, they\u2019re going to destroy or they\u2019re gonna try to destroy.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yeah, but here\u2019s the thing. Mitt also has cheek. Did you notice what he did with the pizza in Chicago yesterday?<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah. Yeah. What was it? He sent used or old pizza over to Obama\u2019s headquarters.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Let me tell you my concept of this. This guy is wealthy. He understands the privileged class, and he can deal with them as well as he can deal with the common man because he understands both. He comes from a people who have been oppressed.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Okay.<\/p>\n

CALLER: The Mormon people.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Right.<\/p>\n

CALLER: He can deal with it.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Okay, let me jump in right. I understand the opportunity that this program affords a lot of you. You have the person that you think should be the nominee. So it\u2019s Open Line Friday, you can call and that\u2019s great. I just want you to know, I\u2019m not endorsing anybody today. I\u2019m not. I don\u2019t care to be persuaded today who I should endorse. So feel free and call and tell me who you like. (interrupt) I don\u2019t know when I\u2019m gonna endorse anybody, Snerdley, but I\u2019ll know. But I\u2019ll know. I\u2019ll know, but I don\u2019t know now when it\u2019s gonna happen. But, the pressure\u2019s on. A number of them are telling me: “If you don\u2019t, we\u2019re dead. You had better choose somebody and you better get behind \u2019em and you better get behind \u2019em early, \u2019cause if you let this process drag out these guys are gonna destroy each other. Whoever the nominee is is gonna be beat up so bad by that time that it won\u2019t matter.” <\/p>\n

The pressure is on me here. Fine and dandy. I understand that, but just so you know: You can call here and you can tell me you\u2019re for Daffy Duck today, just don\u2019t tell me I ought to be, because you can\u2019t persuade me today. This is not the day to try. I\u2019m just trying to be polite here, pure and simple. (interruption) All right, yeah, Brian, we got a problem here. My implant just slipped out of its belt holder. No. No, no. No, no. We don\u2019t have time to stop the program to put it back on. He didn\u2019t hear me. Hang on; turn the Dittocam off. Put this back on. I got it, I got it, I got it. Just a sec. Put it up here for now. Okay. There we are. I\u2019ll get this fixed permanently at the top of the hour. Now the Dittocam is back on. Make sure I don\u2019t rip that cable off again. Okay. I\u2019m looking for the wireless cochlear implant. It takes two cables for this to work and if I start gesticulating wildly, sometimes one of the cables comes loose, and that\u2019s what happened.<\/p>\n

CALLER: The other day you played a clip from the PBS guys where they were trying to tell us that Huntsman was the guy we should get, and I\u2019m like, “Why are they ignoring Herman Cain?” And then it occurs to me, “Oh, are the PBS guys racist?” Because it seemed to me that Herman Cain won a debate, and you talked more about it than anybody did. The national media totally ignored him, and I\u2019m like, “So they must be racist.” Now, as you\u2019re talking about Palin, I\u2019m thinking, well, maybe they\u2019ll be afraid to attack him. But anyway, one more thing if I may, we need a few more of those editorial things from Bo Snerdley. That rocked.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Oh, yeah, the Official Obama Criticizer.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes, sir, that rocked last week.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Right.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Thank you.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Rick, I appreciate that. Thanks very much. Yeah, we could start trying to establish that everybody who doesn\u2019t support Herman Cain is a racist, everybody who doesn\u2019t support Sarah Palin is afraid of strong woman. We could try it. I think, folks, honestly I think with Herman Cain and the media, I think to the extent they\u2019re ignoring him it\u2019s just that they don\u2019t think he\u2019s got a chance to win, it\u2019s all it is. they don\u2019t look at him as top tier, and if he gets top tier, if he moves in there polling data, they\u2019ll pay, believe me, don\u2019t worry, he\u2019ll get his anal exam from them, don\u2019t sweat it.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yes, sir.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I called and I talked to Snerdley a little bit. With Sarah Palin running, she\u2019s stupid and all this other stuff, I have a tendency to look when they say that as stupid as being honest, and somebody that\u2019s smart is —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Wait, wait, wait, I\u2019ve already… Hold it, hold it, hold it. I\u2019ve lost track. Did you tell Snerdley that you think Palin\u2019s stupid? Is that —<\/p>\n

CALLER: No, I mean Sarah Palin, the news says she\u2019s stupid.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Oh, the news says she\u2019s stupid, okay.<\/p>\n

CALLER: The news says she\u2019s stupid, yes, I do, yeah.<\/p>\n

CALLER: What I think is she\u2019s an honest person, and I think you look at the news when they break down who is “smart” and who is “dumb,” it seems like the “dumb” people are the most honest people.<\/p>\n

RUSH: In their view?<\/p>\n

CALLER: In their view, yeah.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah.<\/p>\n

CALLER: And so the media, they like to be smart so they go right along with what our president\u2019s doing. He\u2019s the smartest man in the room.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, he\u2019s smart \u2019cause he\u2019s a liberal and he went to Harvard and Columbia. He could have an IQ of 30 and they\u2019d say he\u2019s brilliant because he went to Harvard.<\/p>\n

CALLER: But what he says and what he does are two different things, and I think that\u2019s the dishonest part. <\/p>\n

RUSH: I know. <\/p>\n

CALLER: I think Sarah Palin running and maybe Michele Bachmann, you would see honesty. You might not like the answers to the questions, but you would see an honest answer.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Meaning you\u2019re gonna see real.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yeah. That\u2019s what I\u2019m talking about.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Exactly. You\u2019re gonna see real. This is an age-old argument: “How do you define smart?” You know, I keep threatening to do a program on that, and I just never move beyond the threat. What is smart? How do you define it anymore? Because it seems there are a lot of really stupid people that have no common sense whatsoever, who have not done one thing, for example, in the private sector who are said to just be serious and brilliant, and yet you wouldn\u2019t want \u2019em in your foxhole. You wouldn\u2019t want \u2019em if you had a flat tire. They\u2019d be useless to you. <\/p>\n
