RUSH: Well, get this. You know, Obama once thought there were 57 states in the United States? He signed the guest book at Westminster Abbey and placed a wreath at the Grave of the Unknown Warrior there. He said, “It is a great privilege to commemorate our common heritage and common sacrifice,” and he wrote the date underneath that passage to commemorate his trip. You know what date he wrote? “24 May 2008.” 2008 is three years ago. Now, you can say what you want, Snerdley, about Herman Cain, but he knows what year it is. Obama thinks it\u2019s 2008! He wrote that. How do you do that? How do you think it\u2019s 2008? What is on your mind when you\u2019re writing, “It\u2019s a great privilege to commemorate our common heritage and common sacrifice” in the guest book at Westminster Abbey? <\/p>\n

<\/a>Maybe this is what he means by “leading from behind.” Maybe he wants history to know he was there in 2008 and is responsible for all that\u2019s happened since. Maybe he was trying to pull a fast one on everybody. Or maybe he thinks he\u2019s still in campaign mode. Maybe he thinks it\u2019s… Well, we know he\u2019s campaigning. That\u2019s what the stop in Ireland was all about. That\u2019s what the stop in Europe is all about. And, by the way, he finally came up at a class gift for the Queen: A nice leather bound pictorial display of her parents\u2019 visits to the United States — King George VI, about whom the movie The King\u2019s Speech was made, and her mother, the Queen Mum, Queen Elizabeth. (interruption) It was, it\u2019s classy. Somebody obviously was hired to come up with an idea for a gift for Queen Elizabeth. But there\u2019s Obama: 57 states and signed the date today in the guest book at Westminster Abbey: 24 May 2008. <\/p>\n

I\u2019m open for suggestions on how this coulda happened and what must have been in his mind.<\/p>\n

RUSH: You know, if Sarah Palin had thought this was 2008, Katie Couric would have stormed the CBS anchor desk last night and tried to take over the news just to report it. No, seriously. If Reagan or Palin thought it was three years ago? They\u2019re making excuses for Obama, he\u2019s jet lagged, he was tired, any number of things. <\/p>\n

You gotta listen to this sound bite. This is F. Chuck Todd and Savannah Guthrie. They\u2019re on MSNBC Daily Rundown this morning. Cohost F. Chuck, traveling with the Obamas and reported where the Obamas slept last night in London.<\/p>\n

TODD: Apparently Mr. and Mrs. Obama are staying in the same room that Kate and Will stayed in the night after they got married. I\u2019m just saying.<\/p>\n

GUTHRIE: What\u2019s your point?<\/p>\n

TODD: Now nobody will confirm if it\u2019s the same bed —<\/p>\n

GUTHRIE: What\u2019s your point, Chuck? (laughing)<\/p>\n

TODD: — but they are staying in the same room. Why palace officials decided to give us that detail I don\u2019t know. Because they know at heart we\u2019re all 13-year-olds when we get information like that.<\/p>\n

GUTHRIE: Exactly, but, you know, on your wedding night, you\u2019re so tired.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Wow. Ho-ho-ho-ho. Savannah Guthrie telling the world that she was so tired on her wedding night. That\u2019s what that means. Did you catch F. Chuck? There was a lot of crosstalk. He said nobody will confirm if it\u2019s the same bed that the president and Michelle (My Belle) stayed in, but it was the same room. And then F. Chuck says, yeah, you know, we all turn into 13-year-olds with stories like this, and Savannah Guthrie, yeah, but, you know, on your wedding night you\u2019re so tired. (laughing) <\/p>\n
