CALLER: Good afternoon, Rush.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Hi.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I would like to address schools and education very quickly.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Thank you.<\/p>\n

CALLER: And I can say this, if any of you gentlemen or your gentlemen listeners did, you would be verbally castrated by my species and the press so I am going to say it and I\u2019m not afraid to. If you will trace back about 30 years and see the beginning of placements of my species — women — as principals, vice principals, chancellors, et cetera, you will start to see the creation of what I call the touchy-feely generation, “no child left behind,” every child\u2019s equal, therefore teach to the lowest denomination. That\u2019s an oxymoron —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Right.<\/p>\n

CALLER: — in itself.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Takes a village to satisfy my husband, that kind of thing —<\/p>\n

CALLER: No. Now, I\u2019m a 70-year-old widow of a Vietnam veteran. I work two jobs. I don\u2019t want your feminists blasting you because I\u2019m saying this. “Oh, she was a stay-at-home mom.” Nah-uh. Worked two jobs, broke the glass ceiling in the trucking industry which was totally male dominated.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah.<\/p>\n

CALLER: So you don\u2019t need to hear any of that trap. But that\u2019s why you\u2019re seeing the young adults living at home now because a lot of our young parents were brought up in this situation, in this education —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Okay, we\u2019ve discussed it on the program before, and I\u2019m still whole, and —<\/p>\n

CALLER: I know you are.<\/p>\n

RUSH: — and it\u2019s the chickification of America. The chickification of America\u2019s happened in education, chickification of America has happened to television news. I know exactly what you\u2019re talking about when you say touchy-feely. Everybody knows what you mean.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Instant gratification, Rush. That\u2019s why these people, the younger ones looking for jobs can\u2019t find them. They are not gonna work like we did, like I did, like my husband did. They\u2019re not going to do it.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Why?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Because they haven\u2019t been taught —<\/p>\n

RUSH: That\u2019s right.<\/p>\n

CALLER: — to do it.<\/p>\n

RUSH: It\u2019s because they\u2019ve been taught it should be handed to \u2019em.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, it\u2019s because they\u2019ve been told (unintelligible) doesn\u2019t stink, you know, Thomas Jefferson was right, we all are created equal but you gotta take that out a little further. We don\u2019t all have the same IQ or we would all be Isaac Newtons or we would be Albert Einsteins or we would be Rush Limbaughs.<\/p>\n

RUSH: That\u2019s right. There aren\u2019t too many of those. Let me ask you a question. Do you watch the TV show Justified<\/a> by any chance?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Justified?<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I\u2019m sorry, I haven\u2019t.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Oh. Ho-ho-ho.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Should I?<\/p>\n

RUSH: You remind me of one of my favorite characters on the show.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Oh. I hope that\u2019s good.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, if I don\u2019t preface it right you might not take it as a compliment, because the woman is a criminal.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Oh.<\/p>\n

RUSH: But that\u2019s not why — (crosstalk)<\/p>\n

CALLER: Your best shot.<\/p>\n

RUSH: No, no, no, no, no, no. I\u2019m not hitting you with anything here.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I know.<\/p>\n

RUSH: This woman runs an entire crime family enterprise in the hills of Kentucky. She runs it. And when you said that you took over trucking, you know, in the male dominated — it\u2019s a parallel. Not that trucking is a criminal, forget the criminal aspect of it.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, there were some criminals in trucks, Rush. (laughing)<\/p>\n

RUSH: I\u2019m sure there were, but forget the criminal aspect.<\/p>\n

CALLER: All right.<\/p>\n

RUSH: This character was portrayed by an actress named Margo Martindale, and she\u2019s just flawless in this role, just superb in this role. Hang on. I can\u2019t let you go away misunderstanding what I\u2019m saying here, so hang on, we\u2019ll be back in a second.<\/p>\n

BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/p>\n

RUSH: Okay. Now back to Jo in Thomasville, North Carolina. I\u2019m sorry to make you sit through that<\/a>, but I got the sound bites.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I don\u2019t mind at all. The sound bites just bear out my theme that I was presenting to you, between the Prime Minister of Israel and this Obama person we have as president. There you see the difference in environment, education. I know Harvard\u2019s the same for both but it depends on your form of entitlement; it depends on being taught manners. Manners are taught in school and at home. You know, anybody can be a good orator. Go to a few Dale Carnegie courses. You know, that\u2019s all well and good.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Hell, it\u2019s just reading a teleprompter in Obama\u2019s case.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I\u2019m sorry?<\/p>\n

RUSH: It\u2019s just reading a teleprompter in Obama\u2019s case.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Oh, well.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Not even good oratory.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Who in the world is writing this man\u2019s speeches? <\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah.<\/p>\n

CALLER: But, anyway, I do think if the young parents will do their research, if they will just take a day off — even if it has to be without pay, it will be worth it — or a half a day or a lunch hour and go and see what… Well, maybe it doesn\u2019t need to be the young parents because they\u2019re being taught the same thing. They need to get involved and see what our children are being taught, because they aren\u2019t being taught.<\/p>\n

RUSH: They\u2019re being indoctrinated. That is exactly right.<\/p>\n

CALLER: They are being indoctrinated, and most of our professors. Our son had a political science professor at one of the universities. You couldn\u2019t mention a Republican president\u2019s name in his class or he would give you a failing grade. Well, his dad and I drove the 400 miles and had a little meeting with the professor. I\u2019m sure our son was thoroughly embarrassed at the time, but I didn\u2019t really give a…you know?<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah, we know. (chuckles)<\/p>\n

CALLER: You know, so I told him to keep his opinions to himself. So for my son\u2019s graduation I had him give that particular — or his dad did — a tape of Nixon speeches.<\/p>\n

<\/a>RUSH: Well, God bless you.<\/p>\n

CALLER: You know. (chuckles)<\/p>\n

RUSH: God bless you. Now, look, before you go here: I don\u2019t want you to be insulted here. The character I\u2019m talking about, this television show, Justified, she was in season two<\/a> which just ended. So it\u2019s not on anymore. It\u2019s in hiatus \u2019til season three, obviously. What network is it on? It\u2019s on FX. They have DVDs of it. You can get it off Apple TV, probably Netflix, if you care. But the character is Mags Bennett, played by Margo Martindale. She\u2019s described as “the Tony Soprano of Harlan County.” She just a no-nonsense woman. Forget the fact that&hellip; I don\u2019t want anybody here to misunderstand. I\u2019m not insulting this woman as a criminal. Mags Bennett runs a criminal enterprise, but that\u2019s not the relationship. She\u2019s just no nonsense, and you\u2019ll love this character. You\u2019ll love the character Mags Bennett. It may be her best acting job that she\u2019s ever done. I\u2019ve not seen everything Margo Martindale has been in, but this is just over-the-top superb — and I gotta go. Jo, thanks very much for the call. I appreciate it.<\/p>\n
