You know, I have an affinity for, shall we say, think comments. Comments that make you stop and think. And this is one of them. Rand Paul Wednesday in Washington, during a health, education, labor, and pensions subcommittee hearing, Rand Paul said this about the question of the right to health care.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/live-rush-limbaugh.pantheonsite.io\/wp-content\/uploads\/01125114.Par.89380.ImageFile.jpg\" width=\"300\" height=\"251\" class=\"alignright\"\/>PAUL: With regard to the idea of whether or not you have a right to health care, you have to realize what that implies. It\u2019s not an abstraction. I\u2019m a physician. That means you have a right to come to my house and conscript me. It means you believe in slavery. It means that you\u2019re going to enslave not only me but the janitor at my hospital, the person who cleans my office, the assistants who work in my office, the nurses.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: You get his point. You get his point? You don\u2019t look like you understand his point. He\u2019s saying if you tell people that health care is a right, that means when they show up at his office, he has to provide it, and everybody in his office has to stop what they\u2019re doing and provide it, if it is a right. Of course it\u2019s not a right, because a right is not something that can be granted and taken away. But it\u2019s an interesting way to look at it. He\u2019s gonna lose people comparing it to slavery. But conscription, I kinda know what he\u2019s saying, I understand what he\u2019s saying. Doctors in Cuba claim that they\u2019re slaves. That\u2019s why some of them are leaving. Well, that and a number of other reasons. They say that they are escaping slavery. They have no choice.
