Now, it\u2019s risky whenever you start reacting to other people\u2019s expression of their religious beliefs. It\u2019s dangerous territory to wade into, but this still strikes me as strange phraseology. Well, I\u2019ve never heard people discuss the Resurrection the way Obama did. This was yesterday in Washington, the White House. There was an Easter prayer breakfast, and here\u2019s just a portion of what Obama said.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/live-rush-limbaugh.pantheonsite.io\/wp-content\/uploads\/01125107.Par.89380.ImageFile.jpg\" width=\"300\" height=\"256\" class=\"alignright\"\/>OBAMA: I wanted to host this breakfast for a simple reason. Because, as busy as we are &#8212;<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: Yeah?<\/p>\n<p>OBAMA: &#8212; as many tasks as pile up during this season &#8212;<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: Yeah?<\/p>\n<p>OBAMA: We are reminded that there\u2019s something about the Resurrection, something about the Resurrection of our savior, Jesus Christ, that puts everything else in perspective.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: There\u2019s just something about the Resurrection that puts everything in perspective. I don\u2019t know what that would be. I mean usually that\u2019s how they title movies, you know, There\u2019s Something About Mary. There\u2019s something about Snerdley. But you just don\u2019t hear there\u2019s something about the Resurrection. What about the Resurrection? What is it, sir, about the Resurrection that puts everything else in perspective? There\u2019s just something about the Resurrection. &#8220;Mr. Limbaugh, are you leveling a disguised allegation?&#8221; No, no, Mr. New Castrati. I\u2019ve just never heard it discussed this way. When he discusses the call to prayer in the Muslim world as being one of the sweetest sounds in the world, I mean that\u2019s an eloquent way to describe the Muslim call to prayer. Here we\u2019re talking the Resurrection. There\u2019s something about that. You know what? Michelle and I were talking about it, something there\u2019s about that that just puts everything in perspective.<\/p>\n<p>BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: Now, I checked the e-mail during the break and some people write,&#8221; Rush, why? Why you have to jump on Obama\u2019s case here about what he said about Easter?&#8221; Folks, look&#8230; (sigh) Without the Resurrection of Jesus Christ, there is no Christianity. Without that, Christianity isn\u2019t true, and when Obama says, &#8220;There\u2019s something about the Resurrection that puts everything else in perspective&#8221; here? He\u2019s talking about Easter. You know, after hearing him describe it that way, I\u2019m actually surprised that Obama doesn\u2019t think of Easter as the day a big rabbit comes out of his hole and, depending on whether he sees his shadow or not, tells us if we\u2019re in for a long winter. <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;That\u2019s the groundhog, Mr. Limbaugh!&#8221; <\/p>\n<p>RUSH: I know it\u2019s the groundhog. I\u2019m trying to tell you what you think Obama probably thinks. Easter is the most sacred, most important Christian holiday, and this is just a strange thing to say about it: &#8220;As busy as we are, as many tasks that pile up during this season, we\u2019re reminded there\u2019s something about the Resurrection, something about the Resurrection of our savior that puts everything else in perspective&#8221;? What is it about the Resurrection that does that?<\/p>\n<p>BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: Here\u2019s Obama. This is from yesterday in Annandale, Virginia. And here\u2019s Obama yesterday at the annual Easter prayer breakfast.<\/p>\n<p>OBAMA: I wanted to host this breakfast for a simple reason. Because, as busy as we are, as many tasks as pile up, during this season we are reminded that there\u2019s something about the Resurrection, something about the Resurrection of our savior, Jesus Christ, that puts everything else in perspective.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: Yeah, &#8220;when we take time out from all the tasks that pile up during this season, we\u2019re reminded that there\u2019s something about the Resurrection that puts everything else in perspective.&#8221; I\u2019m speechless, really am speechless. It is the seminal moment of Christianity. &#8220;There\u2019s something about the Resurrection puts everything else in perspective.&#8221; What is he talking about? What about the Resurrection? Okay, so there\u2019s something about the Resurrection that puts everything else in perspective, and then sound bite five again. He says this about the way we\u2019re handling our finances.<\/p>\n<p>OBAMA: If we keep on spending more than we take in, it\u2019s gonna cause serious damage to our economy.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: Whew. And yet we keep hearing from the David Brookses of the world what an eloquent, elegant president we have. That\u2019s mind-boggling.<\/p>\n<p>BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: Let\u2019s do it, let\u2019s grab audio sound bite number 21. This is one of these sound bites that could remain forever in our rotation. This is President Obama yesterday in Washington, hosting the annual Easter prayer breakfast. It really needs no commentary.
