Solomont lecture celebrating ten years of Tisch College at Tufts. She said a number of things, but this, to me, is the highlight.<\/p>\n<paragraph\/><paragraph xmlns:tmp=\"http:\/\/ez.no\/namespaces\/ezpublish3\/temporary\/\"><embed align=\"right\"\/><\/p>\n<paragraph\/><paragraph xmlns:tmp=\"http:\/\/ez.no\/namespaces\/ezpublish3\/temporary\/\">PELOSI: To my Republican friends: take back your party. So that it doesn&amp;rsquo;t matter so much who wins the election, because we have shared values about the education of our children, the growth of our economy, how we defend our country, our security and civil liberties, how we respect our seniors. &#8230; But the fact is that elections shouldn\u2019t matter as much as they do &#8230; But when it comes to a place where there doesn\u2019t seem to be shared values then that can be problematic for the country, as I think you can see right now.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: All right, it sounded like she was speaking in a barrel, but what she said: &#8220;To my Republican friends: take back your party.&#8221; Meaning the Tea Party, those kooks. &#8220;So that it doesn\u2019t matter so much who wins the election.&#8221; She\u2019s telling us, folks, if you get the conservatives out of the Republican Party, it really won\u2019t matter who wins. We\u2019re pretty much alike up here. Republicans and Democrats are really pretty much alike, get rid of your Tea Party. Elections, it shouldn\u2019t really matter as much who wins them. The fact that it matters so much, she thinks, is why there\u2019s so much conflict and confrontation split throughout our society and our culture. They got all kinds of things in common here: education for our children, the growth of our economy. You don\u2019t believe in the growth of our economy, Ms. Pelosi. She might think she does, but her recipe for economic growth kills the economy, grows government. &#8220;How we defend our country.&#8221; You care about that? &#8220;Rush, that\u2019s a really hard thing to say.&#8221; Well, all I know is these guys were hoping for defeat in Iraq. Pelosi, Reid, they\u2019re calling General Petraeus a liar. They were suggesting the war was lost before the surge even began. <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Security, civil liberties.&#8221; You don\u2019t care about security? The border? You guys are suing states in this country who are just trying to basically enforce federal law. &#8220;How we respect our seniors.&#8221; You\u2019re the guys with the death panels in your health care bill, Ms. Pelosi. See how convoluted this is? But, this is actually quite fascinating. If the moderates would simply win control of the Republican Party elections wouldn\u2019t matter that much, and we wouldn\u2019t be such a divided country, and we wouldn\u2019t be at odds with each other so much. If you just get rid of the conservatives and get rid of the Tea Party, that\u2019s what has to happen. And if that happens, why, we\u2019ve got kumbaya, according to Pelosi. Pelosi was basically saying that the ruling class should not be fazed by elections. They shouldn\u2019t have to spend so much money on \u2019em, it shouldn\u2019t matter who wins because at the end of the day whoever wins is going to be a member of the ruling class. She was saying the ruling class have their shared values.
