Damn <img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/live-rush-limbaugh.pantheonsite.io\/wp-content\/uploads\/01125112.Par.89380.ImageFile.jpg\" width=\"350\" height=\"197\" class=\"alignright\"\/>straight. Last night CNN\u2019s Piers Morgan, Simon Cowell was a guest, and they had this little discussion about Elton John.<\/p>\n<p>MORGAN: Elton John gave you a bit of a wipe the other day.<\/p>\n<p>COWELL: What did he say?<\/p>\n<p>MORGAN: Saying that it was very hard for anything outside of mainstream music to get a hit record now.<\/p>\n<p>COWELL: Well, look, this is somebody who charges, what, a million dollars a private gig, $2 million? You know, I don\u2019t know whether he\u2019s concerned about himself. Maybe it is. But they always bleat on that we\u2019re not giving other people a chance and I always want to say of them, &#8220;I\u2019ll tell you what, you just made a million dollars off your last private gig. Go and give it to a bunch of young musicians you care about, put them in the studio, go and nurture them, go and spend some time looking after them, then I\u2019ll buy your argument.&#8221; They\u2019re only worried about themselves.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: Whoa. Now, when was Elton John\u2019s last known private gig? Which, by the way, led him to a Saturday Night Live host gig, first time he\u2019s ever gotten that gig. I mean he\u2019s performed on Saturday Night Live as the musical guest, but never before as the host. (interruption) I know Simon Cowell is a right-winger. I\u2019m not being critical of Simon Cowell. I\u2019m just playing the sound bite. They\u2019re ripping into my buddy Elton John out there. The music business is tough.
