RUSH: We must return to the audio sound bites. Amateur hour: The regime is all over the map on Libya. Here are various members of the regime explaining why we are there.<\/p>\n

SECRETARY OF DEFENSE ROBERT GATES: We expected in a matter of days to be able to turn over the primary responsibility to others.<\/p>\n

HILLARY: If you don\u2019t try to take him out — if you don\u2019t support the opposition and he stays in power — we cannot predict what he will do.<\/p>\n

ADMIRAL MIKE MULLEN: The goals of this campaign, ah, right now, again, uh, are limited, and it isn\u2019t about seeing him go.<\/p>\n

GEN. CARTER HAM: Our mission is to protect civilians from attack by the regime ground forces. Our mission is not to support any opposition forces.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Okay, so, we\u2019re not forcing him out but we are forcing him out. We\u2019re in there to protect civilians from attack by regime ground forces but we\u2019re not to support any opposition forces. We\u2019re gonna be gone there in a long… They\u2019re all saying different stuff. It\u2019s all gonna be over in days. We\u2019re gonna remove Khadafy; we\u2019re not gonna remove Khadafy. We\u2019re supporting the rebels; we\u2019re not supporting the rebels. It\u2019s amateur hour. It even took Wolf Blitzer to cover for it: “It\u2019s not gonna be over in days,” and he started talking about the bad advice that poor Obama was getting. <\/p>\n

David Gergen, David “Rodham” Gergen from Harvard (I shared this with you in the first hour) has a piece up CNN. He\u2019s very, very upset. He said all the people at Harvard can\u2019t figure out what\u2019s going on here. Harvard trains people to run the country. Harvard trains people to be smart and to do the right thing, and these Harvard people can\u2019t figure out, “What…? What are we doing in Libya? What\u2019s the reason for it?” and then David Gergen said (summarized), “You know, a lot of us at Harvard believed that if women ran the world, it would be a lot more peaceful place, but look! It was three women that ganged up on our president and suggested he do something in Libya!” They\u2019re really confused at Harvard. David Gergen is leading the pack.<\/p>\n

GERGEN: The military mission is humanitarian to stop Khadafy, but the overall, long-term policy of the United States is to get him out and they see that as coming through sanctions and other kinds of squeezes. Do we want the rebels to win? It\u2019s not clear whether we would be satisfied if things just ended in a stalemate. Where is this going to go if we have a stalemate and the country becomes divided? I think that\u2019s an unacceptable solution for the United States and for most other countries on the outside, and I don\u2019t know what our policy is under those circumstances.<\/p>\n

RUSH: I\u2019m sure he doesn\u2019t. He doesn\u2019t know what the policy is, and it\u2019s clear a whole lot of people in the regime actually care. Brit Hume has a story in the stack that said, “We\u2019ve gotta factor in the possibility that failure is an option here,” that failure is an option. You know when Bush went into Iraq, “Well, what\u2019s the mission? How are we gonna define victory? What is the exit strategy? What\u2019s the exit policy? How are we gonna get out?” None of that was demanded of Obama. Some of it\u2019s being demanded now by people on the left, but there isn\u2019t a whole lot of concern. There\u2019s just mass confusion, mass confusion from the smart people of the left \u2019cause they don\u2019t understand this. Here\u2019s Dennis Kucinich yesterday on America\u2019s Newsroom on Fox. Bill Hemmer said to Dennis Kucinich, “What\u2019s the problem going after Khadafy?”<\/p>\n

KUCINICH: Here it is, and I\u2019m gonna read this and then I\u2019ll tell you who said it. “The president does not have power under the Constitution to unilaterally authorize a military attack in a situation that does not involve stopping an actual or imminent threat to the nation.” Now, that was Barack Obama who said that on December the 20th, 2007. We\u2019ve got to be very sure here that we follow the Constitution, and President Obama didn\u2019t do that.<\/p>\n

RUSH: And Ralph Nader last Friday on a syndicated TV program, “Democracy Now.” He had a co-host there, Juan Gonzales, ask, “You\u2019re participating in a protest on the 8th anniversary of the Iraq invasion. What\u2019s the importance of this protest, Mr. Nader?”<\/p>\n

NADER: Why don\u2019t we say what\u2019s on the minds of many legal experts, that the Obama administration is committing war crimes — and if Bush should have been impeached, Obama should be impeached.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Ralph Nader, ladies and gentlemen! (clapping) Ralph Nader! Ralph Nader: “[I]f Bush should have been impeached, Obama should be impeached.” We\u2019re gonna skip number 12. We\u2019re gonna move on to sound bite number 13. This is Ed Markey. He was on MSNBC with Andrea Mitchell yesterday afternoon, and she said, “Do you have any reservations about the military operation in Libya?”<\/p>\n

MARKEY: We\u2019re in Libya because of oil, and I think both Japan and the nuclear technology and Libya and this dependence that we have upon imported oil have, uh, both, once again, highlighted the need for the United States to have a renewable energy agenda going forward. This is the time for a great debate: Japan and Libya, oil and nuclear. What is our future?<\/p>\n

RUSH: According to you guys, we don\u2019t have to one. Nuclear is dead, we don\u2019t like oil, so we\u2019re back to windmills. Windmills and solar. Am I right? They hate oil. I wish we were going for oil, frankly, folks. Where\u2019s our oil from Iraq? If anybody should have dibs on that, we should — at below market prices! Contracts are going to everybody but us. Well, we got some, but we\u2019re paying market prices for it. We had dibs on that oil and we gave it away to prove we\u2019re nice guys. (Part of the guilt of being a superpower.) So we\u2019re going into Libya “for the oil” says Ed Markey. I wish we were. Calypso Louie, March 10th in Chicago on the Cliff Kelley show on the radio there. Kelley said, “You told the president, you said, ‘Be prepared because it\u2019s gonna be coming to your door,\u2019 and your advice to Obama was to remember the words that you\u2019re making to other nations.”<\/p>\n

FARRAKHAN: I warn my brother! Don\u2019t you let these wicked demons MOVE you in a direction that will absolutely RUIN your future with your PEOPLE in Africa and throughout the world. Why don\u2019t you organize a group of RESPECTED Americans and ask for a meeting with Khadafy? You can\u2019t order him to step down and get out. Who d\u2019hell do you think you are?<\/p>\n

RUSH: And there you have it, Calypso Louie Farrakhan asking Obama: “Who the hell do you think you are?” You can\u2019t tell him to leave!<\/p>\n

Calypso Louie wasn\u2019t finished. He continued…<\/p>\n

FARRAKHAN: That you can talk to a man that built a country over 42 years and ask him, “Step down and get out”? Can anybody ask you? Well, well, there\u2019s a lot now gonna ask you to step out of the White House \u2019cause they don\u2019t want no black face in the White House. Be CAREFUL, brother, how you HANDLE this situation because it IS coming to America. It has already started. Look in Wisconsin!<\/p>\n

RUSH: Oh, Wisconsin. “It has already started.” So there\u2019s Calypso Louie warning President Obama. If you can tell Khadafy to go, you\u2019re gonna have a lot of people telling you to go. There\u2019s not a lot of peace and love going on out there. So… (interruption) Well, what would be an interesting question to ask Farrakhan, how he feels about Khadafy warning the Europeans to keep the “blacks” out of there ( which is what he did) or they\u2019d lose their countries. (sigh) Let it be known I didn\u2019t say any of this. I\u2019m just playing the sound bites.<\/p>\n
