Moment of truth comes, Tony bags it. Is he there or is he not there? He\u2019s not there. I don\u2019t know what I took out of context. Would you explain to me again, Mr. Snerdley, what he said that I took out of context about Hoffa and the S.O.B. comment? He claims I edited the sound bite to leave out the part about jobs, jobs, jobs. All right, let\u2019s see here. Let me go back and grab the transcript of the sound bite as we have it. (audio dropout) Tony, you back in Seattle?<\/p>\n
CALLER: I am, yes. Thanks, Rush.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Yeah, okay, what did I take out of context here?<\/p>\n
RUSH: So the jobs are the sons-of-bitches he was talking about?<\/p>\n
CALLER: No, he was talking about the army is ready to go to battle for jobs.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Okay, the army is the union people.<\/p>\n
CALLER: Right.<\/p>\n
RUSH: And they\u2019re gonna go to battle for jobs.<\/p>\n
CALLER: Right, and they\u2019re gonna take the sons-of-bitches out.<\/p>\n
CALLER: Right.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Okay. I don\u2019t know what changes. I\u2019m still the son-of-a-bitch. The Tea Party is still the son-of-a-bitch whether it\u2019s jobs he\u2019s talking about or whatever.<\/p>\n
CALLER: Right, but I guess —<\/p>\n
RUSH: Where are you getting this? Are you getting this from Media Matters or something? Are you getting this from some left wing website that\u2019s destined to prove that Hoffa didn\u2019t say what he said?<\/p>\n
CALLER: No, that wasn\u2019t the point at all, as far as I heard. Basically, it was on a local news program here. I won\u2019t name the call letters because it\u2019s a different station than I listen to you, but they just played it during their newscast, and I guess, quite frankly, I thought, okay, Larry O\u2019Donnell, Sergeant Schultz, Chris Matthews, they do that kind of thing. The point is still the same even in the full context, but I just thought, oh, come on, I trust you of all people.<\/p>\n
RUSH: What\u2019s the point, if it\u2019s still the same? We have a time frame element here. I\u2019ve given Cookie a time element of 60 seconds on sound bites so as to not lose the audience\u2019s attention. People are not tuning into this show to listen to Jimmy Hoffa. So we cut this thing down to 33 seconds, she cuts it down. She takes nothing out of context. She leaves it in context on purpose. All that was edited out was “everybody here\u2019s gotta vote,” and “jobs, jobs, jobs.” But the fact is that Jimmy Hoffa said that we have got to take the S.O.B.s out. Now, he\u2019s not talking about jobs, he\u2019s talking about Republicans, he\u2019s talking about the Tea Party. There\u2019s nothing out of context here. We don\u2019t have to take these people out of context anyway. It\u2019s not our intention.<\/p>\n
All right, look, I appreciate it. It turns out here Tony is concerned about our credibility. He\u2019s not a Jimmy Hoffa supporter. But, you know, there was nothing edited about “jobs, jobs, jobs.” Anyway, you can see, by evidence of this that there is nervousness out there about this. Now, you might be interested in knowing the Detroit Free Press did not even mention Hoffa\u2019s comments in its coverage of the event. I\u2019m told so, anyway. The Detroit Free Press didn\u2019t even mention Hoffa\u2019s comments. John King, CNN, didn\u2019t even ask Hoffa about his comments. When Debbie “Blabbermouth” Schultz on Fox was asked about the comment, the White House has been asked about the comments, and they refuse to comment. Nobody is saying Hoffa was taken out of context with this.<\/p>\n
When James Hoffa talks about taking the S.O.B.s out, everybody knows what he means, pure and simple. TheHill.com didn\u2019t even mention Biden\u2019s barbarian at the gates comments in their report on his speech. I still say, ladies and gentlemen, that the irony of all of this is that here\u2019s Obama praising Hoffa after Hoffa\u2019s remarks, Labor Day ceremony in Detroit, a city that epitomizes the disaster brought about by the alliance of labor unions and a Democrat-led government, a city that\u2019s being bulldozed, a city that\u2019s got something like 16% unemployment, they\u2019re tearing the city down, leaving it for farmland, and of all the places Obama could go on Labor Day, he goes to Detroit to celebrate the triumph of organized labor.<\/p>\n
There is no place you can go to celebrate the triumph of organized labor. In fact, organized labor today, to increase its membership, has to cheat. It has to schedule elections that nobody knows are happening. It has to perform these elections in ways that are intimidating to potential union members. Look, all of this is quite disturbing to people on the left, make no mistake about it, and that\u2019s why all these attempts are being made that claim that Hoffa didn\u2019t say what he said or that people are taking it out of context.<\/p>\n

Yeah, you know, what they\u2019re claiming here is that Hoffa was talking about taking out officeholders, you know, take \u2019em out, vote, vote, vote, beat \u2019em at the ballot box and that sort of thing. The only problem with that is he was talking about the Tea Party, and the Tea Party doesn\u2019t really have any officeholders.<\/p>\n
CALLER: No, we have nothing to lose, Rush, we have nothing to lose. The Tea Party is strong and growing. We\u2019re not afraid because we have nothing to lose. Socialism is coming down our throats and we are ready to battle.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Well, you know, you have a point when you say you\u2019ve got nothing to lose. I kind of like that way of looking at it. If somebody said, “Oh, yeah, you do have something to lose,” what would it be?<\/p>\n
CALLER: Well, I mean what can they do, kill us? You know, I mean that\u2019s what Obama wants to do through Saul Alinsky\u2019s book Rules for Radicals, is to put fear, create this idea that the unions are gonna be this civil police force, and they\u2019re trying to put fear out there through words.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Well, I\u2019ll just tell you this. If you want to put the S.O.B. comment in context, let me do it for you. Exactly the way the left tried to do it to Sarah Palin and me. Gabby Giffords was an officeholder, and somebody took her out. And here you\u2019ve got Jimmy Hoffa talking about taking the sons-of-bitches out. Now, I don\u2019t care whether you people on the left want to start talking about what he meant by voting at the ballot box or whatever. He\u2019s a union honcho, and we know what they mean when they say what they say. You can try this context stuff all you want, but it ain\u2019t gonna fly with us.<\/p>\n

And you must understand that Cookie, who does the audio sound bites here, lives in daily fear of me \u2019cause I have put upon her a 60-second limit for all of these sound bites. And that\u2019s simply a professional judgment made by me. So she tries to edit this stuff down to the essence, you know, brevity being the soul of wit and everything. Here\u2019s the whole bite which takes 58 seconds, and you see if there\u2019s any difference.<\/p>\n
HOFFA: We gotta keep an eye on the battle that we face: The war on workers. And you see it everywhere, it is the Tea Party. And, you know, there\u2019s only one way to beat and win that war. The one thing about working people is we like a good fight. And you know what? They got a war. They got a war with us, and there\u2019s only gonna be one winner. It\u2019s gonna be the workers of Michigan and America. We\u2019re gonna win that war. President Obama, this is your army. We are ready to march. And, President Obama, we want one thing: jobs, jobs, jobs, jobs, jobs, jobs, jobs. That\u2019s what we\u2019re going to tell him. He gonna be — and when he sees what we\u2019re doing here, he will be inspired. But he needs help, and, you know what? Everybody here\u2019s gotta vote. If we go back and we keep the eye on the prize, let\u2019s take these son-of-a-bitches out.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Okay, so what\u2019s different? What\u2019s different? I submit there\u2019s nothing different at all. Let me put it to you this way. Do you suppose the mobsters who took his dad out misunderstood and they were just supposed to vote him out? Do you think the mobsters that took James Hoffa\u2019s father, Jimmy Hoffa out, misunderstood the orders “You take him out.”? All they were supposed to do was vote him out, instead they took him to Giants Stadium? Or wherever. Hell, I don\u2019t know. (laughing) Anyway, there\u2019s the whole sound bite. I don\u2019t care how you define it, the language is the same and the intention is the same. Jimmy Hoffa, James Hoffa wants jobs, jobs, jobs, jobs. You\u2019re talking to the wrong guy, Mr. Hoffa. This guy wouldn\u2019t know how to create a job, well, not a private sector union job, this guy won\u2019t know how to create a private sector union job if his life depended on it. It\u2019s not what he\u2019s interested in anyway.<\/p>\n

CALLER: But yet we continuously allow the Democrat Party to go out and call Americans names.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Excellent point.<\/p>\n
CALLER: Disgustful, and uncalled for. My point is as a former Democrat and a former UAW person, I will never, ever for the rest of my life vote for another Democrat in this country.<\/p>\n
RUSH: You know, it\u2019s an excellent point that you\u2019re making, the point of hypocrisy.<\/p>\n

RUSH: These are the people that are authoring all the anti-bully legislation. These are the people that are responsible for all the anti-bullying stuff in school, and who are they?
