CALLER: Hey, Rush, it\u2019s great to talk to you again.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Thank you very much, sir.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Listen, yesterday we lost a technology visionary and a success story, but maybe even more important, we lost a role model. In a world where we have role models like Steve Jobs<\/a> who contribute positively to society they\u2019re not in short supply; they\u2019re just not put in the spotlight. We have these pandemonium protestors down at Wall Street and all over, and they don\u2019t look at realistic role models but instead to whiners and complainers. How do you get through to them, Rush?<\/p>\n

RUSH: You know, I used to be, back in the early days of this program mildly obsessed with that premise. How to get through to the mind-numbed left?<\/p>\n

CALLER: I steer as many people to your program as I can. I have your Limbaugh Letter, and I use your Limbaugh Letter<\/a> and your program to educate.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Wow. That\u2019s as good as anybody can do right there. I couldn\u2019t come up with anything better than that myself.<\/p>\n

CALLER: (laughing.)<\/p>\n

RUSH: But seriously, I\u2019ve thought about it over the course of the years, how do you get through to the robot left? I mean these people have literally been brainwashed. And so the question I\u2019ve always had, “Okay, what\u2019s called for here? Engage \u2019em on their level and try to persuade them in their own context or to give \u2019em tough love?” Here\u2019s what Herman Cain said. This would be an example of tough love. The Wall Street Journal\u2019s website, The Big Interview<\/a>, the deputy managing editor, Alan Murray, and Murray said, “Occupy Wall Street, Mr. Cain, what do you do make of that?”<\/line><\/p>\n

CAIN: I happen to believe that these demonstrations are planned and orchestrated to distract from the failed policies of the Obama administration. Don\u2019t blame Wall Street. Don\u2019t blame the big banks. If you don\u2019t have a job and you\u2019re not rich, blame yourself. It is not a person\u2019s fault because they succeeded. It is a person\u2019s fault if they failed.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Right. So he\u2019s saying, hey, success is not a failure.<\/p>\n

CALLER: You know, I was thinking, maybe these protestors will get a brainstorm idea and develop and market a new industrial strength deodorant. They\u2019ve been down there for a week.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, that\u2019s part of the allure. The psychology of these people is what I finally determined makes it almost impossible to get through to \u2019em as a group. If I were to walk down there and commandeer a microphone or podium, I don\u2019t know that that\u2019s the way to get through to \u2019em. We\u2019re dealing genuinely here with mind-numbed robots. These people have been indoctrinated and programmed. You couple it with the fact that the main problem that they have is that they are bored and they feel worthless. They feel like their lives don\u2019t mean anything and they are desperately seeking relevance. They want to be noticed. I could lie to \u2019em. I could maybe get their attention by standing up and saying, “Folks, I\u2019m with you on one thing, let\u2019s just cancel all debt.” Now, I\u2019d own \u2019em for a while. I\u2019d have \u2019em right in the palm of my hand for a while, but I think rather than get through to \u2019em, the people that represent them have to be defeated.
