CALLER: Hello, sir. Dittos from Tucson. I\u2019m calling because I have a request of you, and I believe the time is now, sir, I believe it\u2019s your duty to back one of these conservative candidates. I believe that you have an obligation to this country and to the people to back one of these candidates. <\/p>\n
RUSH: Yeah.<\/p>\n
CALLER: You\u2019re in a unique position, sir, where you understand the manipulation of the process, of the establishment and everybody else out there.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Yeah.<\/p>\n
CALLER: I can\u2019t thwart that, but you can and I believe that\u2019s your duty.<\/p>\n
RUSH: You think I can thwart the establishment?<\/p>\n
CALLER: I think if there\u2019s any way you can influence or assist one of the conservative candidates who\u2019s going up against the world like Herman Cain, who has, you know, poor fundraising and organization, things like that with the media going after him, Republicans going after him, and I think if there\u2019s any way that you can influence or assist him in that process, then you need to because this election, everyone in America right now is watching the country destroyed before their very eyes, and this election is important, and I\u2019m asking you, along with many other Americans like me, asking you to step up and stand up for these guys.<\/p>\n
CALLER: I understand that, sir. And once again, that\u2019s why the burden of responsibility is on you, not me, and I can\u2019t make that decision for you, but I know that in the past a couple people swore an oath and they pledged their lives, their fortunes and their sacred honor for this country.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Right.<\/p>\n
CALLER: You might have to put yourself out there, it\u2019s a risk, and that\u2019s the decision that you must make, sir, but make no mistake about it, you have an influence on this country. I talk to people one person at a time, I convince people one person at a time. You talk to 20 million people at a time.<\/p>\n
RUSH: That\u2019s right. Twenty-three.<\/p>\n
CALLER: You have an influence that I can\u2019t match.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Right.<\/p>\n
CALLER: And that\u2019s what people like me are asking you to do, sir.<\/p>\n
RUSH: I understand.<\/p>\n
CALLER: And no, you can\u2019t control what they say. It\u2019s a risk.<\/p>\n
RUSH: That is a significant thing. <\/p>\n
CALLER: It\u2019s a risk, but the risk of not —<\/p>\n
RUSH: Let\u2019s say I end up supporting candidate X and it\u2019s learned in three months that candidate X has a semen-stained dress in some woman\u2019s closet.<\/p>\n
CALLER: Yes, but, sir, you\u2019re not going anywhere. You\u2019ve been attacked so many times, you\u2019ve taken it and you\u2019ve risen above it and you\u2019ve gotten stronger every time. You\u2019re not going anywhere, sir.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Now, that happens to be true, I have to admit, you\u2019re right about that. <\/p>\n
CALLER: And you put yourself out there for Operation Chaos. What did it do? It didn\u2019t necessarily succeed because we got Obama, but your influence, your influence was shown in that capacity. If someone like a Herman Cain just gets a little bump, he can go from being the guy that doesn\u2019t have the money but people like him to being the serious contender that many people believe he is.<\/p>\n
RUSH: I just told you, Business Insider just said he\u2019s finished because he would support —<\/p>\n
CALLER: He\u2019s not finished. I\u2019m not listening to what any of those dingleberries have to say about Herman Cain or any of those people. They have no clue. They have no clue of what the people of America feel or think. They\u2019re like aliens on another planet in a little bubble typing things up.<\/p>\n
RUSH: You have an answer to everything I throw at you.<\/p>\n
CALLER: I\u2019ve been listening to you for ten years, sir. I\u2019ve made up my own mind on things. I\u2019m not a mind-numbed robot asking you to do it for me.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Yeah.<\/p>\n
CALLER: I\u2019m asking you as a leader to step up and take that burden of responsibility.<\/p>\n
RUSH: And you want me to pledge my life, my honor, and my sacred fortune in the process?<\/p>\n
CALLER: Yes, sir.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Not sacred fortune, sacred honor.<\/p>\n
CALLER: Yes, sir. You might have to put yourself out there a little bit, but you have a lot of people who don\u2019t feel like they\u2019re being heard, they\u2019re watching the news, they\u2019re watching Karl Rove, they\u2019re watching Krauthammer, and they\u2019re saying, “Where is the person that\u2019s speaking for me,” and you\u2019re one of the only conduits that has that.<\/p>\n
RUSH: By the way, I have profound respect for Charles Krauthammer, but I guess on the Fox All-Star Panel show the Special Report with Bret Baier, Mr. Krauthammer said it\u2019s really unfortunate here what\u2019s happening with the Arab Spring, that Christians are being wiped out and it\u2019s looking really bad for democracy over there. I\u2019m saying to myself, where is the apology to all the people who said that from the beginning? I\u2019m not thinking about me. I don\u2019t think about me. You had the whole inside-the-Beltway intelligentsia thinking that that Arab Spring was democracy on parade, that were democratizing the Middle East, had to get rid of Mubarak, had to get rid of Khadafy and all that, and now, “Okay, forget I said that, don\u2019t remember I said that, looks like it\u2019s bad for democracy now.” There never is any accountability here and it\u2019s just a side note.<\/p>\n
It\u2019s just one of these things that I continually am surprised by is that the genuinely really smart people don\u2019t see it clearly from the get-go. And when they finally do see it, there\u2019s no mention of how they got it wrong. But at the outset when there were those who said, “No, no, no, you\u2019re encouraging the Muslim Brotherhood. This is not democracy on parade in the Middle East. This is the very opposite.” “Ah, you don\u2019t know what you\u2019re talking about, you\u2019re reactionary, just don\u2019t understand the issues and principles involved,” and so forth and so on. When in fact we do. Yet why is the attack on the Christians in Egypt, why is that not as important as the attack on the Muslims in Bosnia was? <\/p>\n
I\u2019ll tell you why it\u2019s not. It\u2019s because the very people who missed this can\u2019t now very loudly come around and contradict themselves. There no longer is a Christian church anywhere in Afghanistan now. And Coptic Christians in Egypt, they\u2019re being summarily wiped out. And we were all told this is a wonderful thing that we should support and get on the bandwagon, this is democracy on parade. Anyway, look, Charles, I appreciate the call.
