RUSH: Charlie Gasparino has a piece in the New York Post. He went down, actually talked to some of these protesters<\/a> down there, and like everybody else that has gone down there and done that, he came away with quite a stark reaction. And his advice is tell the president, you don\u2019t want to be anywhere near this. These people are, whether they know it or not, a bunch of Marxists. This is not just about redistributing wealth. This is about total revolution. That\u2019s what the people doing this thing think it\u2019s about. And he made an interesting observation. <\/p>\n

“Also absent was any notice of how the much-hated banks benefited not from free-market capitalism, which would have let them fail in 2008, but from crony capitalism that bailed them out.” These people are down there hating the banks, hating capitalism, where if capitalism had been allowed to run its course, these banks would have failed, they would not have been bailed out, and these people would be poor and penniless and maybe in jail if the market had been allowed to rule. And yet what happened? Capitalism was superseded by the notion that they were too big to fail and big government stepped in and bailed them out. It was exactly the kind of government these people claim they want that led to the circumstances that tick them off. <\/line><\/p>\n

Folks, I just have to tell you, it\u2019s getting harder and harder for me each day to suffer fools. My patience for stupidity is waning. I gotta be honest with you. I haven\u2019t laughed about anything in a long time. I wish I could. None of this is funny to me. That, too, is bumming me out. All this rotgut, and now Cantor yesterday saying, (paraphrasing) “The Republicans, yeah, you know what? We also have a problem with this income inequality stuff.” Was on Fox News Sunday. What is it about our guys? Stare success right in the face and kick it in the face. Yeah, there is a problem with income disparity, yeah, there is too wide a gap. Yeah, yeah. Who we trying to relate to here? Who\u2019s votes are we trying to get to with this? Our phrase is now, the Republican leadership phrase is: We are for income mobility.<\/p>\n

So we\u2019re allowing the premise to be set by these people and now we\u2019re jumping in on it and trying to prove it. In other words, tinker around the margins when what\u2019s called for is truly radical reform if we\u2019re gonna fix all this. I don\u2019t find it funny. Gallup\u2019s about ready to report that unemployment is 8.3%. They send out e-mails to their subscribers, and they\u2019ve made note here that employment is really rising. At the end of the note they wouldn\u2019t be surprised if the federal government soon reports an unemployment rate of below 9%. Oh, this is all part of the reelect Obama plan that\u2019s heading down the pike. I find some of it funny, and I laugh at it, Mr. Snerdley, but not very much. Not very long.<\/line>BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/line><\/p>\n

RUSH: Rasmussen is out with a new poll. Herman Cain 43%, Barack Obama 41%. Cain at 43% is not that big a deal. I mean it is, but we\u2019re a year away. What\u2019s really grabbing about this is that Obama\u2019s at 41% and dropping. Incumbents, the theory goes, have to be at 50% or better to have a chance of reelection in any preelection poll. I know this is early, and a lot is going to happen between now and election time. This just illustrates the opportunity that we have. They\u2019re flailing away. This regime is flailing away, and they are in big trouble. This Occupy Wall Street thing is designed to shift attention away from Obama and his agenda, his failed agenda in Washington, to focus it on the enemy of the day as announced by the Democrats, which happens to be Wall Street and the banks. But, again, it\u2019s an interesting point that Charlie Gasparino makes in the New York Post column, and that is ifcapitalism had really been allowed to work as it\u2019s designed, all these institutions bailed out by government would have failed, and the people in charge of them would be hurt, would have been harmed, which is what these lunatics claim that they want.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
