CALLER: Hey, Rush, it\u2019s an honor to talk to you.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Thank you very much.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I just wanted to testify that that college graduate last week<\/a> that you talked to might not have heard anything you had to say about the 1%, but I definitely did — and it was so inspiring. Because, you know, as a student who wants to work hard and make her way in the world, I don\u2019t know what\u2019s gonna happen, but everything you said about how no one can decide who\u2019s going to succeed and who\u2019s not and only we can decide that; it was so inspiring and I just can\u2019t thank you enough for that.<\/p>\n

<\/a>RUSH: Well, that is great. I appreciate that. I really do. I remember this guy. I forget his name, but he was being provocative — contentious — with no reason.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yeah.<\/p>\n

RUSH: But he wasn\u2019t listening. I could tell talking, he was not hearing a single thing. It\u2019s not why he called. But he provided a great opportunity because I was hoping that there would be people like you that would hear what I was saying and that it would make sense.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yeah.<\/p>\n

RUSH: So you\u2019ve made my day here. You really have.<\/p>\n

CALLER: (giggles)<\/p>\n

RUSH: And I\u2019ll tell you — I\u2019ll tell you something else, Karina.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Mmm-hmm?<\/p>\n

RUSH: As more and more people, I don\u2019t know about your age, your generation a little bit, but that guy is in his late twenties, more and more people like him and Occupy Wall Street who decide to just tune out, there\u2019s more opportunity for you. Less competition. The only problem is they\u2019re gonna be expecting to feed off of you as you succeed.<\/p>\n

CALLER: (giggles) Yes.<\/p>\n

RUSH: What are you interested in studying? What are you interested in doing with your life? Do you know yet? You have a passion?<\/p>\n

CALLER: I\u2019ve always loved the arts, but I\u2019m thinking that I might major in business.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Hmm.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Especially marketing. That\u2019s really… I\u2019m attracted to that. So, yeah, that\u2019s what I\u2019m hoping for. I skipped a grade when I was younger. I\u2019m homeschooled, so I skipped a grade when I was younger. So I\u2019m probably gonna take some classes at a community college first for a year and then when I\u2019m 18 go for my four-year degree after that.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Wait a minute. You “skipped” a grade or were you “promoted” through a grade?<\/p>\n

CALLER: (giggles) You could say “promoted.”<\/p>\n

RUSH: I was gonna say, you didn\u2019t quit for a year and then go back.<\/p>\n

CALLER: No, I didn\u2019t quit.<\/p>\n

RUSH: No, no. Okay. You got promoted. I can tell you.<\/p>\n

CALLER: (giggles)<\/p>\n

RUSH: Some people just sound intelligent. If you hadn\u2019t said that you were 16, I\u2019d have a tough time believing it just the way you articulate.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Oh, thank you.<\/p>\n

RUSH: You\u2019re more than welcome, just the way you speak. Well, good. I\u2019m honored that you\u2019re in the audience, Karina, I\u2019m glad you called. Thank you very much, I appreciate it.<\/p>\n

Again, Herman Cain\u2019s press conference, folks, this afternoon at five o\u2019clock. Joshua was that guy\u2019s name last week<\/a>! Joshua. He\u2019s the guy that was just mouthing all of this stuff straight out of Occupy Wall Street, the 1%-ers. His point was that it made no sense for him to get a job because there wasn\u2019t any money, that the top 1% had it all, and they weren\u2019t spending it (or “giving” it, is what he meant, to anybody) and weren\u2019t letting anybody else have it, so there wasn\u2019t any money; they have it all — and he was in his twenties. So he\u2019s been taught this stuff, and believes it. Either that or he was just calling, as I say, to be contentious with basically no reason. But, see? For every one of those Joshuas out there, there\u2019s a whole lot more Karinas who just called us from Slidell, Louisiana. (interruption) Well, we may have gotten through to Joshua. I don\u2019t know. Even if I did, the kid was so obstinate he would never admit it. That\u2019s why I have evolved the theories I have on persuasion. Even when you persuade people most people have so much pride they\u2019re never gonna admit that you did it. They\u2019re always gonna want to claim they came to a conclusion themselves, which is fine. However it happens.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
