Carol Costello at CNN. In fact, I think that’s sound bite one. I’m trying to find it. Yeah. Cookie, I need you to do something for me. I started pronouncing this woman’s name “Bye-a-lick,” because that’s how Gloria Allred told people to pronounce it. I have people out there who told me that that was how Gloria Allred suggested that her name is pronounced. There ought to be a clip where Allred tells the press how to pronounce her name, just as I was told. So if “Bye-a-lick” is not how you pronounce the name, then need to go after Allred, not me. Here’s Carol. Grab sound bite number one. This is Carol Costello this morning on CNN’s American “Harassment” talking to Sharon Bialek.

COSTELLO: You said yesterday that you were ready for this media onslaught, and it has already begun. Rush Limbaugh on his program yesterday said some not-so-nice things about you. He mispronounced your name and he made this, ummm, not-very-attractive sound with his mouth and I won’t explain it to you because it’s not really worth it, but how is that sort of thing feeling to you now?

BIALEK: I expected it, and I still knew I had to come forward. My biggest concern and my biggest fan is my son, and actually the night before that I was about to do this, I called him. He was with his dad —</line>

RUSH: To do what?

BIALEK: — and I said, “Nick, what do you think I should do?” He knew about this. He had heard me speaking to Gloria. And he said… What do you think I should do? He’s 13, and he said, “Mom, you have to do the right thing. I think you need to tell on him.” So that confirmed it for me.

RUSH: You think Obama doesn’t love hearing this, a 13-year-old tattletale? I mean, this a brown-shirt preview here, exactly what big government types like: A 13 year old saying, “You tell on him, mom! You go tell on him.” So that is Carol Costello who’s my own stalker, by the way. I think CNN has assigned here to me. In a media sense, she stalks me, and so that’s that. Now, let’s go back to sound bite eight. This is Chuck Goudie I think is how he pronounces had the name at WLS-TV Eyeball News 7 in Chicago, Actually, ABC 7 News at 6, not at 5:30, but at 6. This is a portion of his report about Sharon Bialek.

GOUDIE: Changing jobs has been a regular occurrence for the Chicagoan. She has worked for at least nine different employers the past 17 years and appears to have struggled financially. The public record on Bialek begins in 1991 when she filed personal bankruptcy for the first time while —

RUSH: Wait a minute! Stop that! Take it back to the top! Did you hear how he pronounced it? Bye-a-lick! That’s how Gloria Allred said to pronounce it yesterday. And yet here’s Carol Costello getting all over me. I’m used to it, folks. I can handle it. Everybody’s always all over me. Play this thing from the top. Now we know that’s how he was pronouncing it, okay. Next thing you know we’re gonna know she was at Penn State at some point. Go.

GOUDIE: Changing jobs has been a regular occurrence for the Chicagoan. She has worked for at least nine different employers the past 17 years and appears to have struggled financially. The public record on Bialek begins in 1991, when she filed personal bankruptcy for the first time while living in Des Plaines. Between ’93 and ’96 she worked for four different companies in promotion and marketing positions. In ’96 and part of ’97, she was at the National Restaurant Association. In 1999, her son Nicholas was born and a paternity lawsuit was filed by the father, a media executive. In 2001 came her second personal bankruptcy filing after sizable legal bills.

RUSH: Now, does any of this matter to anybody? I’m still… Folks, again: Gallup, the polling bunch, says, “The Cain allegations have attracted a level of attention that is lower than the average attention all Americans have paid to news stories Gallup has tracked over the last several decades.” In other words, nobody paying attention to all this — and Cain, by the way, is gonna do a press conference this afternoon at five o’clock Eastern time in Phoenix, which shows he’s becoming a little bit more media savvy. Doing it so late guarantees it will get covered on the evening news, but it doesn’t give the media enough time to chop it up and find a whole bunch of ways to tear it apart.

BREAK TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: Terry in Elkhart, Indiana. Terry, welcome, great to have you on the EIB Network. Hello.

CALLER: Hey, Rush, thanks for letting me on here. I appreciate your passion for the insanity of this country. Here’s the insanity of Bialek’s sound bite this morning talking to her 13-year-old son. What parent in their right mind sits down with their 13-year-old and fills their head with this stuff and then says, “Oh, yeah, you’re my counselor and my guide. I guess I’d better tell on this bad man.” That’s insane. That’s insane, Rush.

RUSH: That is an excellent question, and it further makes my point about the overall decline in this case. He’s a 13-year-old kid, and the woman gives the 13-year-old kid the details of what happened, and then seeks the advice of the 13-year-old kid, and the 13 year old says, “I think you should tell on him, Mommy,” which should make Obama’s ears perk up, the leftist brown-shirts would love that, tattletales galore.

CALLER: That 13 year old wasn’t even born yet when this incident supposedly happened and now all of a sudden she’s going to the 13 year old for the heart-to-heart decision of her life.</line>

RUSH: Well, don’t forget —

CALLER: That’s crazy.

RUSH: Don’t forget the fiance, too. The fiance is all for this, even the fiance didn’t know about it before, what, last week, fiance is all for it, everybody’s all for it. Axelrod’s all for it, people at the gym are all for it, everybody’s all for it.

CALLER: It’s crazy. It’s crazy. Thanks for your passion, Rush. Appreciate it.

RUSH: You bet. That’s actually an excellent point. The13-year-old kid is the arbiter here. Can you imagine, the mother sits down, “Okay. Well, here’s what that man,” pointing to Herman Cain on TV, “here’s what he did to me.” (interruption) And yeah, what if the kid said, “Mom, I don’t know if you should get involved in this. Mom, I don’t know.” Well, but that didn’t happen, we could play “if” all day. As Roger Whittaker once sang, I don’t believe in “if” anymore. Is it the end of it for Cain? From the New York Times Magazine, are you listening? “On the Ropes With Herman Cain”

“The end of the Cain campaign has been at hand for months. And yet the end doesnÂ’t arrive. … The end isnÂ’t about to arrive now either.” Author T. A. Frank, New York Times Magazine. Snerdley, I know you’re up there busy screening calls, you’re not listening. Gallup is saying that the level of interest in this story is lower than anything they’ve seen in a long time. And now with five women — I’m gonna tell you, rather than being the end of Cain I think what most people are saying is this is getting absurd now. This is becoming absolutely laughable. Cain’s sought a lot of public positions over his life, and in the last two weeks five women pop up. I don’t know what’s going to happen. I haven’t the slightest idea what’s going to happen or whether it means the end of things for Herman Cain or not.

Snerdley, I can tell you that it did not mean the end of Bill Clinton. And it almost didn’t mean the end for John Edwards. If it hadn’t been for the National Enquirer, there would still be — and it didn’t mean the end for Ted Kennedy. And it didn’t really mean the end of Clarence Thomas, although that’s a fine point that I need to be more specific about, but he got to the court and he’s still there, and he’s still laughing at ’em, and we’ll be back.

BREAK TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: Okay, folks, the media is taking me to task the way I’m pronouncing the name of this poor victim of Herman Cain’s lechery, Sharon Bialek. For example, Carol Costello, my official CNN stalker, this morning on CNN’s American Morning.

He was with his dad and I said, “Nick, what do you think I should do?” He knew about this. He had heard me speaking to Gloria. And he said… What do you think I should do? He’s 13, and he said, “Mom, you have to do the right thing. I think you need to tell on him.” So that confirmed it for me.

RUSH: So there you have it. We’ve got a 13-year-old kid, got all of these juicy details, and by the way, I didn’t say anything bad about Bialek. I didn’t know anything about her. All I did was pronounce her name the way Allred did, and I was right. Allred pronounced her name two different ways. Here’s sound bite number one.

ALLRED: I’m attorney Gloria Allred, and I’m here today with my client, Sharon Bialek.

RUSH: Sharon, pause, Bialek. That’s how I pronounced it first. Then later on, ladies and gentlemen, at about close to seven minutes into the presser, Allred pronounced it a different way.

ALLRED: And now it is my honor to present Sharon Bialek.

RUSH: Well, there you have it. So she said it Sharon Bialek, exactly as I was told she said it. Why didn’t Bialek correct Costello when Costello said that I mispronounced her name? I pronounced her name the way she does, and yet Costello was allowed to besmirch me. And why is Bialek not correcting the interviewers who are mispronouncing her name now, right in front of her? Allred actually pronounced it that way again at the end of the presser. So she pronounced it Bialek twice.

It’s a minor point but when people start ripping me for getting things wrong… I am in the communication business. I am a highly trained broadcast specialist. Pronouncing things right is what I do. That’s why when I don’t know how something is pronounced I go two or three different options because I sometimes haven’t heard the way it is pronounced. But Allred, a third time, actually hits it very hard, Bi-a-lek. What sound did I make with my mouth? I don’t know. We’ll have to go back. I might have made a lick sound. But that’s just a holdover from the Barney Frank theme song.

RUSH: Who’s giving me static? Carol Costello at CNN.
