RUSH: Dean, you\u2019re up first on the phones of the EIB Network. Hello, sir.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Oh. Hey, Rush. Dittos. This is awesome.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Thank you.<\/p>\n

CALLER: My dad listened to you for years, and he tried and tried to get through and could never get through — and he\u2019d be so excited if he was alive today and know I was talking to you. (chokes up) Excuse me. So this is great.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Thank you, sir, very much.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, my point was, as you were talking about the media saying that Newt couldn\u2019t win and that there was this fear. But I think there\u2019s a concerted effort by media and the RINOs to make us not want to pick a candidate like Newt<\/a>, to pick somebody like Bob Dole or John McCain so that they\u2019re guaranteed to win.<\/p>\n

RUSH: So that who\u2019s guaranteed to win?<\/line><\/p>\n

CALLER: The liberals, so we get another Obama presidency.<\/p>\n

RUSH: So the… Wait a minute, now. You think the Republicans also want the liberals to win?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, I think the RINOs do, and they\u2019re not conservatives. Because this way they\u2019ve got somebody to complain about. You know, it wasn\u2019t their fault, their guy didn\u2019t get in — and, you know, they still stay in power.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Tell me, how is a RINO, a Republican in name only…? At the end of the day he still calls himself a Republican. How is he helped, how is he helped by liberals winning every election?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, I think it goes back to what you say, is that the Republicans, a lot of them don\u2019t know what it\u2019s like to be winners, and they\u2019re confident being in that loser segment because there\u2019s always gonna be some RINOs or Republicans in —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Okay.<\/p>\n

CALLER: — so they stay in power.<\/p>\n

RUSH: All right. That\u2019s not exactly what I\u2019ve said. What I\u2019ve said is that when you\u2019ve been a loser for 40 years and then you win, it\u2019s often difficult to make the mental transition —<\/p>\n

CALLER: Right.<\/p>\n

RUSH: — to have the attitude of a winner, just like the fat guy who loses a lot of weight still thinks fat.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Right. I think they\u2019re not comfortable with being winners, and it\u2019s a lot easier being in the minority and a loser party, and they stay in power.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, if you\u2019re right, there\u2019s only one reason why. If Dean is right here, if the RINOs don\u2019t care that liberals win — if the RINOs\u2019 only objective is to make sure a conservative Republican doesn\u2019t win — it\u2019s because the RINOs want big government, too. It\u2019s because the RINOs don\u2019t want government cut. It\u2019s because the RINOs don\u2019t want to lose power as government is shrunk. That would be the only reason. Now, they\u2019re Republican-in-name-only, but they are still “Republicans,” and they are still losers at the ballot box if old Dean here is right. So what old Dean here is saying here is we\u2019ve got a bunch of RINOs who would just as soon nominate somebody who is gonna lose to Obama because they want government to stay big, because they somehow profit from big government, a lot of government spending.<\/p>\n

Who was the last person to actually cut government? Who was the last person who actually led a movement that balanced the federal budget? Who was the person that did that? (humming “Jeopardy!” theme) You\u2019re not gonna take a guess? (interruption) That\u2019s right, it was Mr. Newt<\/a>! He was the last guy who gave us a balanced budget. Now, there are a lot of other Republicans involved — Kasich was key and a lot of others — but Gingrich was Speaker. The last time this budget was balanced, the last time there was true welfare reform, the last time government was cut, Gingrich did it. Who is number one enemy of everybody today?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Thank you! It\u2019s an honor to be here.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Thank you very much.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I was calling earlier in response to one of the callers who was talking about his idea that maybe the RINOs and the liberal media were conspiring, sort of, to help eliminate the conservative candidates and end up with either a very liberal candidate or just a bad candidate who would lose.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Right.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I guess I had an epiphany the other night when Herman Cain was announcing that he was suspending his campaign. I was very sad to hear that. I was a Herman Cain backer, and, around that same time frame, I was at a gathering where there were some Illinois GOP folks, and I had heard that they were kind of — maybe the word is “crowing.” They were happily commenting on how the conservatives were dropping out and it was gonna end up being Romney. And my thought was, “Well, I\u2019ve learned to not listen to what they say but watch what they do,” and sometimes it really does seem like the party is the same as the Democrat Party, and I\u2019ve heard other people say that.<\/p>\n

RUSH: A-ha! So you are wondering if the left might have actually infiltrated our party, if there are actual liberals acting as Republican political consultants, liberals in the GOP hierarchy? I can\u2019t say for sure that that\u2019s not the case. We know that they infiltrate anything else. College campi?
