RUSH: Josephine in Vernon, New Jersey. Hi, great to have you on the EIB Network. Hello.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Thank you, Rush, for taking my call. It\u2019s such a pleasure. I\u2019ve listened to you for 20 years plus, our whole family and our grandchildren, and because of you we homeschool our children.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Wow.<\/p>\n

CALLER: But that\u2019s not what I\u2019m calling about. But anyway, I called you last month on my anniversary, our 43rd anniversary and you just made my day. I\u2019m the lady that we have no cable and we have no Internet but we read a lot and you\u2019re our schoolroom. But, anyway, I heard the other day you and Snerdley talking about you going back and forth and he said, “What, what?” You said, “What, what?” And he said, “What would the country be like without Rush on the radio?” Well, you know, I got up 2:30 last night in the morning in a cold sweat thinking about Rush not being on the radio. I almost had a heart attack. I came downstairs and I wrote a note, and I said, “I gotta call Rush today. I can\u2019t let the year go without speaking with Rush on this.” But anyway, I was thinking it would be boring, we\u2019ll be uninformed. It would be like a Third World country. We lose the best member of our family. <\/p>\n

<\/a>And I gotta tell you, you\u2019re like a Paul Revere<\/a>. You\u2019re a voice crying in the wilderness. You\u2019re thorough, articulate, you have the brass to say what everybody else is thinking, but they\u2019re afraid to say it. You have a great, easy speaking voice. You challenge us to think about current events. We, therefore, go out and we challenge others. I\u2019m always telling everybody about you and your thoughts. You love our country, Rush. And you keep us informed. And you\u2019re just a harmless and lovable little fuzzball. And we want you to stay on the radio. That other guy that called the other day and said he wanted you on TV, think about it. Don\u2019t think about it. Stay on the radio. You can reach so many more people that way.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah, I can\u2019t thank you enough. You put some thought into this before making your call, and I don\u2019t know what there is to argue with here, folks, I really don\u2019t. You know what I\u2019m thinking as you go through this, my not being on the radio, picture the mourning in North Korea and multiply that times 20.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Oh. I can\u2019t imagine.<\/p>\n

RUSH: You got people crying in the street, pounding the pavement in North Korea because Kim Jong-dead is dead. Imagine what it would be like if I were no longer on the radio here.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I can\u2019t. I can\u2019t. So we just want to thank you. Stay on the radio.<\/p>\n

RUSH: You\u2019re very sweet. I thank you from the bottom of my heart, seriously, I really do.<\/p>\n

CALLER: And we\u2019re so happy that you\u2019re married to Kathryn because we worried about you for a while. We said, “He needs a nice mate,” so we\u2019re so happy about that.<\/p>\n

RUSH: So am I, by the way. (laughing) So am I. And some days so is she. <\/p>\n

CALLER: You\u2019re a harmless, lovable little fuzzball. I love you when you say it.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Harmless, lovable little fuzzball. Well, I appreciate that. Thank you, Josephine, very much, and Merry Christmas, Happy New Year to you as well.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes, thank you.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Josephine!<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes.<\/p>\n

RUSH: You still there?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Is the TV still off?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yeah, we have a physical old TV. We never, you know, converted over to it. But because we\u2019re listening to you so much we\u2019re saving up to get a — \u2019cause we\u2019re retired now, we\u2019re saving up to get an Internet connection —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah.<\/p>\n

CALLER: — and to get Internet. We just don\u2019t know which one to get so we\u2019re a little confused. So we want to do our homework and we have a little envelope we\u2019re putting money in it to save for a —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, I\u2019ll tell you what I\u2019m gonna do. I\u2019m gonna send you a computer so that when you are ready to connect to the Internet you have a computer to use for it.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Oh, my goodness.<\/p>\n

RUSH: What good is being connected to the Internet if you don\u2019t have a computer?<\/line><\/p>\n

CALLER: (laughing) That\u2019s true.<\/p>\n

RUSH: And of course the computer could cost you a little bit more than your Internet connection, depending on what outfit you decide to go with. So, look, you stay on hold, I\u2019m gonna send you a 17-inch MacBook Pro.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Oh, no.<\/p>\n

RUSH: And it\u2019s got Wi-Fi, so if you get a wireless —<\/p>\n

CALLER: Oh, God bless you.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, I know.<\/p>\n

CALLER: You\u2019re just such a wonderful, caring and giving person.<\/p>\n

RUSH: I love sharing my passions with people, I just do. And I love this stuff, it keeps me invigorated and active and learning things, and I just love sharing the things I love with people so I\u2019m happy to do this, Josephine.
