RUSH: Are you there?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Hello?<\/p>\n

RUSH: This is not Sarah. Let\u2019s move on to somebody —<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes, I\u2019m here.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Oh, you are Sarah?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes.<\/p>\n

RUSH: What were you doing?<\/p>\n

CALLER: I\u2019m sorry, I was on the phone — on my cell phone with my son. But okay I\u2019m off the phone with him, and, um, I\u2019m with you.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, how do you know I was trying to get to you if you\u2019re on the phone with your son?<\/p>\n

<\/a>CALLER: Well, because I had the other phone up to my ear, too, but it was a little bit further away from my ear.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Oh, so you\u2019re using two phones at the same time.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well… (laughing) Yeah, pretty nifty.<\/p>\n

RUSH: That\u2019s how important your son is to you. Okay, I appreciate that.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yeah, he is. And he\u2019s a Rush Baby<\/a>, 25.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, I totally understand that, too.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I gotta tell you, we disagree with you on a lot of things.<\/p>\n

RUSH: You and your son?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Pardon me?<\/p>\n

RUSH: You and your son disagree with me?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Okay.<\/p>\n

CALLER: And, you know, Rush, I want to bring this to your attention right off the bat.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Okay.<\/p>\n

CALLER: You know, he was with some friends, uh, this weekend watching a game, and um, they — one of the guys asked him about — started to ask him about what he thought of Ron Paul.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah?<\/p>\n

CALLER: And my son goes, “Oh, no, not this again,” and then what it turned out was all of them are supporting him. Some have left the Democrat Party —<\/p>\n

RUSH: (sigh)<\/p>\n

CALLER: — and they\u2019re in the Republican Party now, and I\u2019m just… I\u2019m bringing this to the attention of you and whoever else wants to pay attention to it, because this is serious. You know, we believe and seriously believe that he is the only one who\u2019s proposing real cuts.<\/p>\n

RUSH: (sigh)<\/p>\n

CALLER: And not wanting to start another war does not make him an isolationist. He\u2019s the one who — who believes in free trade, and, you know, all the other candidates, I\u2019m sorry to say, whether it\u2019s Newt or Mitt —<\/p>\n

RUSH: (sigh)<\/p>\n

CALLER: — and I know you\u2019re right about Mitt, they want him to go up against Obama, \u2019cause they know he won\u2019t win. But neither will any of those other guys.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Including Ron Paul.<\/p>\n

CALLER: — and if one of them does win —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Jeez. I mean, of all the people on our side —<\/p>\n

CALLER: Mmm-hmm?<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

RUSH: — who have the least chance.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, that\u2019s where you\u2019re wrong.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Uh, no.<\/p>\n

CALLER: There are Democrats who like him, there are independents who like him, and there are Republicans. You can\u2019t say that about any other candidate.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Uh, he doesn\u2019t have enough Republicans to secure victory.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, that\u2019s because people like you keep saying ridiculous things about him that aren\u2019t true!<\/p>\n

RUSH: Like?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Oh, like calling him an isolationist.<\/p>\n

RUSH: I don\u2019t think I ever have called him an isolationist. I think you\u2019re reading from a script. I\u2019ve never called him an isolation — let me ask you a question.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes, you have!<\/p>\n

RUSH: No, I haven\u2019t.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes, you have.<\/p>\n

RUSH: I don\u2019t say that. The word is not at the forefront of my lexicon.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Okay.<\/p>\n

RUSH: I don\u2019t use it because it doesn\u2019t say enough.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, you say other things about him that aren\u2019t true.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Like what?<\/p>\n

CALLER: (silence)<\/p>\n

RUSH: Do you think 9\/11 was America\u2019s fault? Ron Paul does.<\/p>\n

CALLER: No, he\u2019s not saying that!<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yes, he does. You know what? I understand what he\u2019s talking about. When I first heard that, I felt the same way you did. I got that knee-jerk reaction.<\/p>\n

RUSH: It\u2019s not knee-jerk.<\/p>\n

CALLER: We are so mixed up with the Middle East everywhere over there —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Right?<\/p>\n

CALLER: — and that is what he\u2019s talking about. People — how would you like — (crosstalk)<\/line><\/p>\n

RUSH: Do you think the Iranians…?<\/p>\n

CALLER: How would you like it if —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Do you think the Iranians should get a nuclear weapon to protect themselves against us?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Why…? How would you like it if they were some other country was invading us all the time?<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, you know —<\/p>\n

CALLER: You wouldn\u2019t like it. We would not like it!<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, a country isn\u2019t, but an idea is — and Ron Paul doesn\u2019t think it\u2019s a problem.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Doesn\u2019t think what\u2019s a problem?<\/p>\n

RUSH: The idea that is trying to wipe us out.<\/p>\n

CALLER: That\u2019s not true at all.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Militant Islam. He\u2019s content for them to get nuclear weapons!<\/p>\n

CALLER: No. See, there you go.<\/p>\n

RUSH: I\u2019m just telling you what he\u2019s says!<\/p>\n

CALLER: You\u2019re saying things that are not true. All this is on his website.<\/p>\n

RUSH: I\u2019m just telling you what he says!<\/p>\n

CALLER: Do you know what my friend from Cuba says? That when that Patriot Act was passed —<\/p>\n

RUSH: All right.<\/p>\n

CALLER: — I was for that, and he said, “No, that is not good,” and he from Cuba —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Now you\u2019re gonna quote “a friend” —<\/p>\n

CALLER: — and I think he understands what\u2019s going on here.<\/p>\n

RUSH: — in Cuba.<\/p>\n

CALLER: We\u2019re losing our civil liberties, and nobody seems to understand that except Ron Paul.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Come on. You\u2019re not a listener.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Ron Paul!<\/p>\n

RUSH: Your son\u2019s not a Rush Baby. You\u2019re a liberal Democrat. You want Paul. You\u2019re trying to sabotage us.<\/p>\n

RUSH: By the way, who is attacking Iran, anyway? The caller said, “Hey, if you\u2019re Iran and you were being attacked, wouldn\u2019t you want a nuclear weapon?” In fact, Ron Paul has said — it was a quote — Ron Paul has said, “If I were an Iranian, I\u00c2\u2019d like to have a nuclear weapon, too, because you gain respect from them. (Israel)” I don\u2019t know who\u2019s attacking Iran. But I do know that Ron Paul has suggested that we deserved it on 9\/11, that we brought it on ourselves by supporting Israel and meddling in those people\u2019s lives over there. We brought it on. We gotta understand it. We\u2019re responsible for this stuff. <\/line><\/p>\n

Anyway, how you doing, folks? Great to have you here as we kick off brand-new week of broadcast excellence. <\/p>\n

Snerdley is apologizing for that call. It\u2019s a ten-dollar fine. I\u2019m gonna start instituting financial fines on you. You\u2019ve been doing this 23 years, you ought to be able to spot these people from a larger, longer distance now, farther distance. What did she say? (talking) hm-hm. Okay. Snerdley says the way he got snookered here was that she said to him that she wanted to ask me who I thought the best candidate to beat Obama was. And Snerdley, of course, is oriented toward all callers making the host look good so he, using that rubric said, “Well, you know, Rush might grand slam with this,” okay, hang on, and puts her on hold. And then she immediately gets on the phone with her supposed Rush Baby son and, “Okay, I\u2019m in, I\u2019m in, I\u2019m in, now what do I do?” That\u2019s what was going on out there while she was on hold. <\/p>\n

But, anyway, I think Ron Paul ought to run for president of Iran. I think he ought to just enter the fray over there, make his case to the mullahs and say, “Look, I can do a better job than Ahmadinejad\u2019s doing for you.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
