CALLER: Hi, Rush. It\u2019s an honor and a privilege to speak with you.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Thank you.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Been a longtime listener, thanks to my mom. I was listening earlier, you had a woman on there who didn\u2019t care for Romney<\/a> but she would vote for him; and I\u2019m a small business owner for 23 years now, and that would be the only one why I would vote for Romney<\/a> also, if he was our Republican nominee.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Because of his business experience?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Absolutely.<\/p>\n

RUSH: I got a poll here. I wasn\u2019t gonna mention this but now I\u2019m going to. It\u2019s a Rasmussen poll, and 48% — I don\u2019t know what the universe is here. I\u2019m not sure if it\u2019s voters or Republicans. It says… No, a plurality of all voters think that Romney<\/a> would do a better job with the economy than Obama by 48 to 39%. So in, the Rasmussen poll, Romney has a nine-point lead on Obama on the question of who would do better with the economy.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Absolutely. I mean, sometimes you gotta know when to fold \u2019em, you know, and start over, and it\u2019s what makes you successful. You can\u2019t hold on to things that fail and that don\u2019t work.<\/line><\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah, Clint Eastwood, Dirty Harry, once said after murdering a bad guy, “A man\u2019s got to know his limitations.”<\/p>\n

CALLER: That\u2019s it. That\u2019s it.<\/p>\n

RUSH: The guy was lousy with a gun or something.<\/p>\n

CALLER: That\u2019s what\u2019s worked for me so, you know —<\/p>\n

RUSH: See, that conflicts with everything that we know. Like Winston Churchill, on the other hand, says, “Never, ever, never, never give up.” Dirty Harry says a man\u2019s got to know when to give up.<\/p>\n

CALLER: You know, you gotta know what\u2019s evil in front of you.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, what you\u2019re saying is, “Okay, we gotta figure out here, at some point, if Romney\u2019s the nominee, there\u2019s nothing we can do about that. What\u2019s the objective?” Beating Obama, right?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Absolutely.<\/p>\n

RUSH: And so there\u2019s no alternative to that, if the only alternative to that ends up being Romney, it\u2019s a no-brainer. That\u2019s what you\u2019re saying?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Absolutely.<\/p>\n

RUSH: And you do it with maybe a… You know, you\u2019ll hold your nose but you\u2019ll still do it?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Absolutely. You know, I can\u2019t afford four more years of him. So, you know, anybody that we would have would be far better than Obama.<\/p>\n

RUSH: I just have to ask, is your business owned by Bain Capital?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Oh, no. Mmm-mmn. (giggling).<\/p>\n

RUSH: All right, I just had to ask.<\/p>\n

CALLER: No. No, it\u2019s not.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Has it ever been owned by Bain? Has a member of the Bain board ever bought anything at your business?<\/p>\n

CALLER: No, I\u2019ve never been contacted by them, either.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Has Mitt Romney ever given you $55 or $60?<\/p>\n

CALLER: No, he hasn\u2019t.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Okay. All right, folks, the way I look at it — and by the way, Nancy, I appreciate the call. (humming) I don\u2019t know. I gotta think about it I was gonna say something but I gotta think about it. I\u2019m thinking about the concept of “the lesser of two evils” here and throwing Obama into that mix, and I just need to think about it a little.<\/line><\/p>\n

BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/p>\n

RUSH: Here\u2019s Norah in Ft. Lauderdale, great to have you on the Rush Limbaugh program, hi.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Oh, gosh, Rush, I\u2019m so happy to be able to speak with you. You\u2019re the bestest of the best.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Thank you very much.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I have a point I\u2019d like to make. I think that Newt Gingrich is the only one that can smash the Obama regime. I think he\u2019ll throw everything at him and I think he knows all the dirty little secrets in Washington that he could handle. Not only that, but when I hear my friends talk about Romney, “Oh, he looks so presidential,” but who cares about what he looks like?<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well…<\/p>\n

CALLER: Not only that, Rush, but he got the endorsement from McCain. I think that\u2019s the kiss of death because McCain is the reason we have this problem today.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah, it kind of puzzled me, too, up there in New Hampshire.<\/p>\n

CALLER: He gave the presidency to Obama. And I\u2019m so mad at him and then I also blame Huckabee for endorsing McCain. He ran such a half campaign, and Sarah Palin was the only spark in his campaign and then all she got, she and her family, is criticism. And so I am so angry at McCain, and I just think Newt is fantastic, and I\u2019m glad that he\u2019s going after Romney. And I think that\u2019s the only thing he could do because Mr. Nice Guy finishes last.<\/p>\n
