RUSH: I went out to dinner with some friends last night. We went to my buddy Stan Shuster\u2019s Grand Havana Room<\/a>. The place was packed. I was happy to see it. People in there were smoking cigars, sometimes two at a time. They were just jamming it down the health Nazis\u2019s throats. <\/a>(interruption) Yeah. It\u2019s the Grand Havana Room club over in Beverly Hills on “Canon Drive” (or “Cannon,” however it\u2019s pronounced), and I\u2019m telling you: It\u2019s a gorgeous place.<\/p>\n

Big TVs all over the place for watching sports. We weren\u2019t doing that, but I was there with Joel Surnow and Howard Gordon and Jeff Benson, who\u2019s Surnow\u2019s agent. Howard did Homeland, and I\u2019m trying to get out of him what the next season\u2019s plot line is. But it was just great. The place was jam-packed, some people smoking two cigars at once, just jamming it right down the throats of the Health Nazis. And I asked Stan, “How\u2019s it doing?” “It\u2019s never been better! Business has never been better.” He said same thing about the Grand Havana Room club in New York City. He said, “I can\u2019t keep Rudy Giuliani out of the place in New York, not that I want to,” but he said he loves it.<\/p>\n

Anyway, it got to be nine o\u2019clock and these guys asked, “What are you gonna do about show prep?” I said, “Well, I really need to get to it. I spent 4-1\/2 hours at the ear doctor yesterday afternoon, and I haven\u2019t had a chance to do any show prep. So I really need to go.” So I left about 9:30 or 10 o\u2019clock. And it turns out all the work I did last night, I haven\u2019t even gotten to 90% of it because of Obama\u2019s stupid announcement this morning that I found out two hours, an hour and a half, before the program started, and I was gonna say: I intended today to have a lighthearted, laid back, last-day-in-LA Open Line Friday with lots of phone calls.<\/p>\n

Then the guy starts the day by robbing us of more of our liberty and freedom<\/a> while people on our side think that he\u2019s caving away. So I had to deal with that.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
