RUSH: This is one of Andrew Breitbart\u2019s pieces. And it\u2019s actually an interesting question, and it was also raised by Byron York at the DC Examiner a couple of days ago, might have been yesterday or the night before last. Remember the book “Game Change”? Mark Halperin and John Heilemann, two reporters, followed both presidential campaigns in 2008. They learned a whole bunch of stuff during the campaign, but they didn\u2019t report a lot of it. <\/p>\n

CBS Tampa: “Florida Drivers Shelling Out Nearly $6 A Gallon At Some Gas Stations — According to GasBuddy.com, motorists are shelling out $5.89 for a gallon of regular gas at a Shell station in Lake Buena Vista.” Five eighty-nine. Five ninety-nine a gallon for premium. Five ninety-nine. So we\u2019ve crossed the five-dollar-a-gallon threshold and we\u2019re on the way to six<\/a>. <\/p>\n

Anyway, this book, remember, the criticism at the time was all this stuff that they held during the campaign. They obviously held it for their book. These are two reporters, I understand they\u2019re out there writing a book, but they\u2019re also both covering the campaign at the same time. And they kept — (interruption) What, you want to pronounce his name “Hellaman”? (laughing) At any rate, they\u2019re making a movie out of this book now, “Game Change.” It\u2019s an HBO movie. I was invited to the screening. It\u2019s in New York so I won\u2019t be going. (interruption) No, but that would technically be work. See, if it involves work I don\u2019t want to go to New York, plain and simple. <\/p>\n

So here\u2019s the thing about this. The book was about both campaigns, the McCain campaign and the Obama campaign. And it involved the primaries. It involved Hillary versus Obama. It involved Romney<\/a> versus McCain and Huckabee and all that, and then the presidential campaign. This movie is all about Sarah Palin. The movie is primarily about Sarah Palin. And so Ben Shapiro says, “Why are the producers of HBO –” stick with me on this \u2019cause there\u2019s a reason I\u2019m mentioning this — “Why are the producers of HBO\u00c2\u2019s ‘Game Change\u2019 focusing so heavily on Sarah Palin when the book of the same name concerned the entire 2008 campaign? There are two answers. The first is simple: Palin\u00c2\u2019s a draw. Hollywood knows it, and so does everyone else. Tina Fey made her career far more by imitating Palin than by writing a show nobody watches called \u201930 Rock.\u2019 Hollywood\u00c2\u2019s Palin obsession is just beginning.”<\/line><\/p>\n

You know, two years ago — heck, time goes, it might have been three. The last time I made Barbara Walters “Top Ten Most Fascinating People,” Tina Fey was on the list. And do you know why Tina Fey was on the list? For impersonating Palin. Palin was not on the list, Tina Fey was. I always found that odd. Anyway, there\u2019s another reason, however, Ben Shapiro points out. “Hollywood, as we know, is deathly afraid of the Tea Party. They believe that if they can persuade the Republican Party to abandon its conservative principles, they\u00c2\u2019ll be doing good for a benighted American public. That\u00c2\u2019s why during ‘Game Change,\u2019 you\u00c2\u2019ll see Sen. John McCain (Ed Harris) say to Sarah Palin,” who is played by Julianne Moore, who is a redhead.<\/p>\n

Tina Fey didn\u2019t get the gig, Julianne Moore did. John McCain says to Sarah Palin in the book, “You are one of the leaders of the party now. Don\u00c2\u2019t let yourself get co-opted by Limbaugh and the other extremists. They\u00c2\u2019ll destroy the party if you let them.” I didn\u2019t even know I\u2019d made the book. But I\u2019ve made the movie. This is kind of like what Obama told John Boehner. “Don\u2019t listen to Limbaugh anymore; that\u2019s not how things get done in Washington. Don\u2019t listen to Limbaugh.” And Byron York said it\u2019s a great example of media bias, really, not that anybody needs one anymore, but it\u2019s a great example of it. The movie is about Palin. And, oh, by the way, they claim to have found examples heretofore unknown of her stupidity. There are four or five of them, and I don\u2019t have \u2019em right in front of me. <\/p>\n

I remember one. They claim they\u2019ve got confirmation backup for this. They said that Sarah Palin was shocked to find out at the beginning of the Iraq war that it was not the queen who made decisions about what the British government would do. So that scene is in the book. Apparently Palin thought the queen made all the decisions, that\u2019s the point they\u2019re gonna make. There are three others. The New York Post had a story on this a couple days ago. I don\u2019t remember what the other examples are. But Hollywood and the Democrat Party are still trying to kill off Sarah Palin, and that\u2019s the purpose of the book.<\/p>\n

BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/p>\n

RUSH: Before we get to the phones, here are the other Palin things that are gonna be in this movie that are not in the book “Game Change.” They claim they have discovered these items and they are independently confirmed as being true. While being prepped for an interview, Palin tells McCain staffers that the reason we\u2019re at war in the Middle East is because Saddam Hussein attacked us on 9\/11. That\u2019s why. <\/p>\n

Another one I mentioned is that she\u2019s shocked that Queen Elizabeth doesn\u2019t make the final decision for the British government, that she supposedly said, “Look, if she\u2019s not the head of state, who is?” Does anybody believe Palin doesn\u2019t know that there is a prime minister? She\u2019s never heard of Tony Blair? She assumes that the Fed meant the federal government, not the Federal Reserve. They claim that Palin didn\u2019t know why North and South Korea were separate countries. Those are the new discoveries about Palin that are in the HBO movie that are not in the “Game Change” book. And also in the movie is the McCain character telling the Palin character, “You gotta stop listening to Limbaugh and the extremists. They\u2019re gonna destroy the party if you let \u2019em.” <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
