CALLER: Headquarters of the Democratic National Convention this year. Rush, just an opinion on Bev Perdue. Bev Perdue is the first North Carolina governor to face a Republican legislature in 144 years.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Okay, I thought you were a recording. I thought we caught you in the middle of a recording.<\/p>\n
CALLER: No.<\/p>\n
RUSH: It\u2019s not your problem. It\u2019s my hearing. Start again with what you said.<\/p>\n
CALLER: She\u2019s the first governor to have to deal with a Republican legislature in 144 years.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Oh. Dumplin\u2019 is the first governor that had to deal with a Republican legislature in 144 years.<\/p>\n
CALLER: Correct.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Okay.<\/p>\n
CALLER: And secondly, the voter ID law did her in. Seventy-eight percent of voters wanted that law passed. And even though the Speaker of our House —<\/p>\n
CALLER: Because 78% of the people wanted it and she vetoed it in spite of legislature\u2019s willingness to work with her.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Oh, gotcha, okay.<\/p>\n
CALLER: She said no, I won\u2019t pass it no matter what you do with it.<\/p>\n
RUSH: I see.<\/p>\n
CALLER: Yeah.<\/p>\n
RUSH: So it was a double whammy. She vetoed it — (crosstalk)<\/p>\n
CALLER: Yeah. She wanted to raise taxes and the legislature won\u2019t let her do it, but if you\u2019ll just give me one second here, another point, Charlotte has been bombarded with Democratic operatives. We had Sebelius here this weekend.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Hm-hm.<\/p>\n
CALLER: Jarrett is coming through.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Uh-huh.<\/p>\n
CALLER: Arnie is coming through.<\/p>\n
RUSH: I told you, because they\u2019re scared to death of losing the state.<\/p>\n
CALLER: They are losing \u2019em. Mayor Foxx was in Beverly Hills last weekend drinking pink champagne with Obama trying to raise money to pay for the convention here because they\u2019re not raising the money they want.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Let me ask you a question about Perdue.<\/p>\n
CALLER: Yeah.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Her nickname is Dumpling.<\/p>\n
CALLER: Yes.<\/p>\n
RUSH: When I hear that as a nickname for somebody, I think you don\u2019t call somebody who\u2019s really bright and intelligent Dumplin\u2019. I don\u2019t know of a graceful way to ask the question. Is she smart?<\/p>\n
CALLER: She\u2019s a hack.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Okay. She\u2019s a hack. <\/p>\n
CALLER: She was lieutenant governor before that. She\u2019s been in the government for years and years and years.<\/p>\n
RUSH: What does her husband do?<\/p>\n
CALLER: Convenience stores.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Whatever she wants?<\/p>\n
CALLER: (laughing.)<\/p>\n
RUSH: Convenience stores. Okay.<\/p>\n
CALLER: Yeah. But, as I said, this is a state that\u2019s changing. I was really surprised in 2010 when we went Republican on the legislature, very surprised. Because of the number of Northerners that are coming into this city, it\u2019s really changing the demographics big time.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Well, are you confident that Republicans can win the state back?<\/p>\n
CALLER: I believe so. The fact that they\u2019re having such problems raising money, as I said. Anthony Foxx, he\u2019s a rising star, you know, Obama keeps dragging him to Washington. He has a lot of time at the White House.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Why would this guy be drinking pink champagne instead of the real stuff?<\/p>\n
CALLER: I don\u2019t know. I guess that\u2019s what they were serving in Beverly Hills that day.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Huh.<\/p>\n
CALLER: They\u2019re not gaining the money, and our Duke Energy people, they\u2019re guaranteeing $10 million of it. So Duke Energy stockholders will end up paying ten million if they can\u2019t raise it.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Yeah. Well, I gotta tell you: 2010, those, midterm elections? I\u2019m telling you, folks, you\u2019ve forgotten about it now. The Democrats haven\u2019t. They got a shellacking from the top all the way down to the bottom of the ballot, all the way down to dogcatcher nationwide. Nationwide, 700 Democrat seats went help in the 2010 midterms. That\u2019s how bad it was. Of course this isn\u2019t going to be discussed, and to the extent that it is discussed, “Well, you can\u2019t compare that to now! That was totally different circumstances, a congressional election. There wasn\u2019t a single person or individual on that ballot, blah, blah.” Democrats were on the ballot and they got skunked in 2010, and the Tea Party did it! And the Tea Party is not dead, contrary to the hopes and dreams and the wishes of all these clowns on MSNBC and everywhere else in the Drive-By Media.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Why do you think these Democrat governors are meeting with Obama? They remember 2010. They are scared to death what\u2019s coming in November. These Democrat governors meeting with Obama to figure out how they can get things done without using Congress, they are scared to death. It\u2019s an election year for these people. They see what happened to Dumplin\u2019. They see what happened to Democrats, 700 of them all over the country on the ballot in 2010.
