CALLER: Hello! Hey, yesterday I was channel surfing, and I caught Chris Matthews\u2019 show, and he had on [Kirsten] Gillibrand. And I cannot believe with all the problems we\u2019ve got going on in this country, that they\u2019re worried what you happened to say about that girl they brought up before Congress. Now, Gillibrand\u2019s claiming that they sent a letter to Boehner wanting the Republicans to repudiate you as a person.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Yeah. Well, in fact, Boehner did. I think I heard this on TV today. I\u2019ve not seen it, but I think Boehner did respond. He said something like, the words I used were “inappropriate,” as is the whole discussion about the government paying for people\u2019s contraceptives.<\/p>\n
CALLER: Boehner responded to that?<\/p>\n
RUSH: Yeah, he did.<\/p>\n
CALLER: Oh, I didn\u2019t catch that.<\/p>\n
CALLER: All right. Let\u2019s turn this around. How come the Republicans never ask the Democrats to respond and “repudiate” what the left says?<\/p>\n
RUSH: Because the media will not join them in the demand, and it just will not have any weight.<\/p>\n
CALLER: Yeah, \u2019cause, like I just happened to catch Chris Matthews. Personally, I think he\u2019s a buffoon because the guy, he rambles. He almost looks like he\u2019s the last call at a bar all the time. <\/p>\n
RUSH: (laughing)<\/p>\n
CALLER: You know? Like this guy can\u2019t wait for the last call.<\/p>\n
RUSH: No, no, let me explain.<\/p>\n
CALLER: He looks like he\u2019s in there all the time!<\/p>\n
RUSH: Let me explain what\u2019s going on here. You caught this midstream, and you\u2019re just saying, “What the heck is this?” Now, I don\u2019t want to go through the entire chronology because that would take too much time. I actually did some of that in the first half hour of the program. One of the best ways to illustrate what\u2019s happening here is we\u2019ve got a news story about a woman, a law school student at Georgetown. She has it reported about her that she\u2019s having so much sex, she can\u2019t afford her birth control pills anymore. Out of nowhere, this woman surfaces! Actually, not out of nowhere. She surfaced after Obama mandated that the Catholic Church and its schools give away contraception free of charge. <\/p>\n
The Church objected. Obama supposedly relented and said, “Okay, okay. You don\u2019t want to do it? I\u2019ll make the insurance companies do it.” He can\u2019t make anybody do it! It\u2019s a violation of the First Amendment. The Democrats, desperately in search of an issue to tar-and-feather and impugn the character of Republicans with because Obama\u2019s trailing in the bills badly with women, decide to dig up from their grooveyard the meme that Republicans hate women. They\u2019ve actually got a chapter in their playbook: “The War on Women” and how to blame Republicans for it and how to manufacture it.<\/p>\n
It\u2019s a war that doesn\u2019t exist. Republicans don\u2019t hate women, are not at war with women, and never have been. It\u2019s absolutely absurd. So Congressman Issa wants to have hearings over the unconstitutionality of Obama\u2019s mandate that churches and religious schools pass out abortion pills, contraception pills and so forth. The Democrats turn this into a hearing about Obamacare and “health care” and an attempt to create a new welfare program, and that is birth control pills for women, and they do it on the basis that the Republicans want to deny contraception to women, which isn\u2019t true. It\u2019s never been stated. There isn\u2019t one Republican that\u2019s interested in this. It\u2019s all manufactured. <\/p>\n
They tried to get Fluke to testify. She is not allowed to testify because it was not about women at Georgetown who have so much sex they can\u2019t afford birth control! It was about Obama. The Democrat women on the committee say, “Well, this is outrageous! This is misogynistic and this is discriminatory right here! They won\u2019t let a woman witness come testify.” And it was never about that. So Pelosi arranges her own press conference for the woman, and the woman makes it clear (her name is Sandra Fluke) that she\u2019s having so much sex, she can\u2019t pay for it — and we should. She\u2019s having so much sex, she can\u2019t afford it.<\/p>\n
She gives the numbers: $3,000 worth of birth control pills worth of sex. She\u2019s paying anywhere from $35,000 to $50,000 a year to go to Georgetown, $20,000 room and board, and can\u2019t afford the $1,800 to $3,000 a year for birth control pills and wants us to pay for it. I said, “What does that make her?” She wants taxpayers, the Democrats want taxpayers, to pay for it. They want to create a welfare entitlement program where we provide birth control pills, because pregnancy\u2019s an illness. Pregnancy is a “women\u2019s health issue.” So the woman comes forth with this, frankly hilarious claim that she\u2019s having so much sex (and her buddies with her) that she can\u2019t afford it.<\/p>\n

Do I have the power to raise their taxes? I do not. <\/p>\n
Do I have the power to regulate their behavior? I do not. <\/p>\n
Do I have the power to make health care decisions for them? I do not. <\/p>\n
Do I have the power to withhold birth control pills from them? I do not. <\/p>\n
Do I have the power to audit their tax returns? I do not. <\/p>\n
Do I have the power to take their little four-year-old kindergarten student\u2019s lunch and throw it away and make \u2019em eat something else? I do not. <\/p>\n
Do I have the power to look into their personal life and leak the information to the media? I do not. <\/p>\n
Is there one bit of freedom that I can deny them? Can I raise their taxes? <\/p>\n
They want to blame me as being the person they should fear, when in fact the people doing all these things I just said I have no power to do, the Democrat Party is doing. That\u2019s who everybody\u2019s afraid of in this country. You know that story about the four-year-old girl who had her lunch taken by the federal agent? When those stories happen, have you noticed the people involved don\u2019t want their names known? Who are they afraid of? They\u2019re afraid of Democrat Party. They\u2019re afraid of the Obama administration. The Obama administration will take away your birth control, and if you let \u2019em do that, they\u2019ll tell you when you can and can\u2019t take it. And then they\u2019ll tell you when you can and can\u2019t have sex, and then they will tell you when you can or cannot have an abortion! <\/p>\n
You give them this power, that\u2019s what they want. <\/p>\n
