Hi, Cole.  It\u2019s great to have you on the program.<\/p>\n<p>CALLER:  Thanks for taking my call.  I\u2019ve just been told, actually, that a tornado has touched in the area. So at the risk of losing my life for the sake of conservatism, I have something to share with you.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: (chuckling)<\/p>\n<p>CALLER: I am a student a Murray State University as a biology major, and I was in biochemistry this morning, and there was an emphasis on discussing the regulation by the government of sugar, and particularly fructose. So he had us read an article, and I\u2019ll read you a quote from the article.  It said, &#8220;If international bodies are truly concerned about public health, they must consider limiting fructose &#8230; to individuals and to society as a whole.&#8221; They had five suggestions how to do this.  They said we need to reduce the hours retailers are open, control the location of retail markets, tighten the licensing requirements on vending machines in schools and workplaces, designate an age limit on who can buy the fructose (they suggest age of 17), and then their last suggestion is the doubling of the price through taxation.  And, you know, I just sat there in class thinking: &#8220;My goodness, you know, how brainwashed do people have to get to push this?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>RUSH:  Well, brainwashed&#8230; This is a biochemistry class?<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"575\" height=\"315\" src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/8TTfCE1QfYg\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>CALLER:  Yes.<\/p>\n<p><img id=\"eZObject_60020\" class=\"alignleft\" align=\"left\" src=\"https:\/\/live-rush-limbaugh.pantheonsite.io\/wp-content\/uploads\/4769815900_5f70b2ee25_medium.jpg\"\/><BR\/>RUSH:  This is a biochemistry class? It\u2019s not a public policy class or a political science or sociology class? This is biochemistry?<\/line><\/p>\n<p>CALLER:  Right.  We\u2019ve been discussing sugar so he wanted to talk about possibly of government being able to regulate sugars and thought that that might be a good idea.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH:  Particularly fructose?<\/p>\n<p>CALLER:  Yes.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH:  And your professor made you read or cited some things that would limit the availability of fructose, even going so far as to limit the hours that stores that sell fructose products could be open?<\/p>\n<p>CALLER:  Correct.  And, you know, wanting to restrict the locations. Putting them as far away from schools as possible and such. You know, tying this into the contraceptives as well, I thought this was interesting.  We had also talked previously that oral contraceptives have been considered by the International Agency for Research on Cancer as Class 1 carcinogen.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH:  Right.<\/p>\n<p>CALLER:  But I haven\u2019t heard FLOTUS going out there and saying that we should restrict the use of oral contraceptives.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH:  No.  Well, there\u2019s also a relationship of abortion to breast cancer that has been established, too.<\/p>\n<p>CALLER:  Right.  Right.<\/p>\n<p><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.twoifbytea.com\/\"><img id=\"eZObject_60019\" class=\"alignright\" align=\"right\" src=\"https:\/\/live-rush-limbaugh.pantheonsite.io\/wp-content\/uploads\/NewTeaFlavors.jpg\"\/><\/a>RUSH:  That, of course, will be suppressed as well. But this is exactly the kind of thing I mean. So I\u2019m actually not surprised by this.  I\u2019m not surprised that you\u2019ve got a brainwashed professor who openly, willingly, thinks this would be a great thing for the government to do. Because now fructose is an enemy.  Fructose is an enemy. And, therefore, the people who make it, distribute, sell it, are enemies. And they will be targeted. And we\u2019re going to limit where it can be sold, how it can be sold, all of these things. I shudder to think what the reaction to the other students in your class to it was.  They probably nodding their heads, thinking this is a great.<\/p>\n<p>CALLER:  Right.  You know, that\u2019s the thing.  You feel like the lone conservative on campus sometimes. You look around class and think, &#8220;You know what? These students are also buying into this and don\u2019t realize,&#8221; just as you mentioned earlier, &#8220;if they can regulate these things, then what can they not regulate?  If they can tell you what food you can eat, what can they not tell you to do with your body or with your life?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>RUSH:  Well, let me tell you something, Cole, about how long this has been going on.  Was this the first time that fructose had been hit in your class this way?<\/p>\n<p>CALLER:  Yes.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH:  Okay.  Back in 2007, before he was vice president, Joe Biden was on Bill Maher\u2019s show on HBO.  And Bill Maher asked Biden this question. Five years ago. &#8220;Senator Biden, forgetting about the upcoming Iowa caucus for just a moment, which would you honestly say is more likely to contribute to the death of your average American: a terrorist strike or high fructose corn syrup and air that has too much coal in it?&#8221; and Biden said, &#8220;Air that has too much coal in it, corn syrup next, then a terrorist attack.&#8221;  So Joe Biden said fructose would be the second greatest threat to contribute to the death of the average American over a terror attack and after &#8220;air that has too much coal in it.&#8221;  So this attack on fructose sugar &#8212; and, by the way, that\u2019s political.  The sugar barons are Republicans in many places. <\/p>\n<p>CALLER:  Right.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH:  So this is pure politics.  You\u2019ve had, in a biochem class, pure politics &#8212; raw politics &#8212; thrown right in the middle of your chemistry class.<\/p>\n<p>CALLER:  Right.  Again, it\u2019s not surprising.  This is the type of thing I deal with every single day. You know, you just have to&#8230; That\u2019s why we have people like you who are out there reaching millions of people and we need people like you to fight for conservatism. Because those who are supposed to be the most intelligent in our society tend to be liberals, and it\u2019s also the most-intelligent people that come up with stupidity like this.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH:  Well&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>CALLER:  So I appreciate you being out there.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH:  Thank you, Cole, very much.  The &#8220;most intelligent&#8221; (probably the &#8220;most educated&#8221; is what you mean) tend to be liberal, and also tend to be wrong. They now want to make fructose a controlled substance.  It\u2019s just sugar made from corn syrup.  Fructose!  It\u2019s the sugar that\u2019s in soft drinks.  They don\u2019t use granulated sugar in there.  I remember when I was a child and my mother would bring home some chocolate milk from the grocery store, I\u2019d say, &#8220;How come there aren\u2019t any chocolate granules in the bottom of the glass?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Well, I don\u2019t know.&#8221; <\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Cause whenever I got some Nestl\u00c3\u00a9\u2019s Quik and put it in the milk, it never all dissolved. There were always remnants in there. And by the same token: How come when I would put sugar in iced tea, even after stirring it up, I could see the sugar in there and some of it would end up on the bottom of the glass? I asked, &#8220;How come there\u2019s no sugar at the bottom of the Coke, Mom?&#8221;  Well, it was fructose. It\u2019s liquid corn syrup.  And Joe Biden actually placed it second on a list of things that threaten death to the average American, ahead of a terror attack! <\/p>\n<p>BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/p>\n<p>RUSH:  No.  Ladies and gentlemen, answer the many questions.  <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.twoifbytea.com\/\">We do not use fructose in Two If By Tea<\/a>.  It\u2019s not in there! Two If By Tea has no fructose or corn syrup. You won\u2019t see any granules in there and you won\u2019t find any fructose.
