Remember Labor Day 2011. What would that be, six, seven, eight months ago? James Hoffa Jr. at an event with Obama on the Tea Party, James Hoffa Jr. told the union to, quote, “Take these sons-of-bitches out,” unquote. Mr. Civility didn\u2019t say a word about it, Mr. Obama said not a word about it, laughed about it, in fact, didn\u2019t he? Chuckled a bit? Well, those, quote, sons-of-bitches, unquote, are somebody\u2019s sons and daughters, these Tea Party SOBs are somebody\u2019s sons and daughters. They are participating in public discourse, and they\u2019re not public citizens; they\u2019re private citizens. They\u2019re anonymous. But it just goes to show the rules don\u2019t apply to Democrats. This is what we were talking about yesterday, the double standard. The double standard is alive and well. <\/p>\n

BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/p>\n

RUSH: Okay, Snerdley, I don\u2019t want you blowing up in there. We have audio sound bites from the president\u2019s press conference. (interruption) Yeah, I think I want people to hear it. They\u2019re gonna hear it anyway. It was at 1:41 this afternoon. The question came from a Huffing and Puffington Post reporter: “Do you believe Rush Limbaugh\u2019s apology was sufficient and heartfelt, and do you agree with the number of sponsors that have stopped supporting his show, and has there been a double standard? Liberal commentators have made distasteful statements and there\u2019s not been such an outrage.”<\/line><\/p>\n

OBAMA: Y\u2019know, I\u2019m not gonna comment on what sponsors decide to do. I\u2019m not gonna comment on, uhh, uhhh, either the economics or the politics of it. Uh, I don\u2019t know what\u2019s in Rush Limbaugh\u2019s heart so I\u2019m not gonna comment, uhhh, uh, on the sincerity of his apology. Uh, what I can comment on is the fact that all decent folks can agree, uhh, that the remarks that were made, uhh, don\u2019t have any place in the public discourse. And, you know, the reason I called Ms. Fluke is because, uh, I thought about Malia and Sasha. And one of the things I want them to do, uh, as they get older is to engage in issues they care about. Even ones I may not agree with them on, I want them to be able t\u2019speak their mind in a civil and thoughtful way, and I don\u2019t want them attacked or called horrible names because, uh, they\u2019re being good citizens. And I wanted, uhh, Sandra to know that — that I thought her parents should be proud of her. Uh, and that we want t\u2019send a message to all our young people that bein\u2019 part of a democracy involves argument and disagreements and, uh, debate. And we want you to be engaged, and there\u2019s a way to do it, uh, that doesn\u2019t, uhh, involve you being, uhh, demeaned and insulted, particularly when you\u2019re a private citizen.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, I don\u2019t know if she\u2019s a “private citizen” testifying before a congressional subcommittee, but, nevertheless, he doesn\u2019t know what\u2019s in my heart. But you do, and that is the key. This is the guy who stands next to Jimmy Hoffa and chuckles when Hoffa talks about the “sons-of-bitches,” quote, unquote, in the Tea Party being “taken out.” He laughs when they\u2019re demeaned and insulted. And he doesn\u2019t answer the question about other people who have been really, really ripped and criticized and so forth by people on the left, liberal commentators and so forth. The next question was from Jessica Yellin of CNN. She said, “Top Democrats said that Republicans in a similar issue were engaged in a war on women<\/a>. Some top Republicans say it\u2019s more like Democrats are engaged in a war for the women\u2019s vote. Now, as you talk about loose talk of war in another arena and women, this could raise concerns among women. Do you agree with the chair of the DNC that there\u2019s a ‘war on women\u2019?”<\/p>\n

OBAMA: One of the things I\u2019ve learned being married to Michelle: I don\u2019t need t\u2019tell her what it is that she thinks is important. There are millions of strong women around the country, uh, who are gonna make their own determination about a whole range of issues. It\u2019s not gonna be narrowly focused just on contraception. Uhh, it\u2019s not gonna be driven by one statement by one radio announcer. It is gonna be driven by their view of what\u2019s most likely to make sure they can help support their families, make their mortgage payments, who\u2019s gotta plan to ensure that middle-class families are secure over the long-term, what\u2019s most likely to result in their kids being able to get the education they need to compete.<\/p>\n

RUSH: So that\u2019s a long, drifting, incoherent answer on the so-called war on women. But that is a page in the Democrat Party playbook<\/a>, and that\u2019s what this contraception issue is all about. As I said yesterday, the whole purpose of the appearance by Ms. Fluke before the Democrat subcommittee was to take away and distract from the real issue that Darrell Issa\u2019s committee was looking into, which is: Does the president have the constitutional authority to demand and mandate that Catholic universities (or churches or schools) provide not just contraception, but other medication that facilitates abortions taking place or that causes them to happen? Does he have the right to mandate that?<\/line><\/p>\n

That was the original purpose of Issa\u2019s hearing, and they had a witness lined up for this hearing: Barry Lynn. And at 4:30 in the afternoon, they canceled. The Democrats pulled Barry Lynn out and said that they wanted Sandra Fluke to show up instead. And Issa said, “Who\u2019s this? We don\u2019t know who she is? She doesn\u2019t have any expertise.” There\u2019s a 72-hour vet rule. They have 72 hours to figure out who the witnesses are, to see if they\u2019re qualified. Democrats didn\u2019t want that to happen. I don\u2019t know why. I don\u2019t know what they didn\u2019t want the Republicans to learn about Sandra Fluke, but they didn\u2019t want them to learn something.<\/p>\n

Or maybe it was just that they wanted to spring this on \u2019em and try to twist what he means in tails. And Issa stood firm and said, “Sorry.” So the Democrats staged a press conference made to look like a congressional hearing. And the whole purpose was to change the subject from Obama\u2019s mandating (anti-constitutionally) that insurance companies or churches provide, free of charge, contraception and abortifacients. They had to desperately change the subject. They changed the subject to contraception and how supposedly the Republicans were opposed to it, and thus the war on women. I\u2019ve always thought in circumstances like this, “Where\u2019s the logic?”<\/p>\n

At what point does the logic occur to people: Okay, here\u2019s the Republican Party, and they have as their objective winning elections — and they don\u2019t want just men. They need votes from as many people as they can get. What is the point in having a war on half (or over half) of the voters. What\u2019s the point in telling them you don\u2019t want their votes? In fact, folks, if I could be honest with you, it\u2019s the Obama administration which is telling groups of Americans they\u2019re not interested in their votes, and one group is white working families. They used to be called Reagan Democrats. Thomas Edsall, who used to write in the Washington Post, wrote a piece in the New York Times months ago now laying out Obama\u2019s reelection strategery and one of the things that he made the point was that we\u2019ve lost white working-class voters. That\u2019s not an area we\u2019re gonna focus on.<\/p>\n

The Republican Party doesn\u2019t write off anybody. The Republican Party, my gosh, does everything it can — it doesn\u2019t know how, but it tries every way it can — to get women vote, Hispanic vote, black vote, minority vote. It\u2019s doing everything it can. They just don\u2019t know how to do it. But they\u2019re out there trying all the time. It\u2019s the Democrats who alienate voting groups. But the way ends up being reported is all that has to happen is Obama and the Democrats assert that there is a war on women, and the press is right there with its New York-Washington bubble to pick up the theme. “Ooh, Republicans, war on women! Against contraception! Republicans want women living in the Stone Age.” That makes a lot of sense, doesn\u2019t it, when you want their votes?<\/p>\n

No, it makes no sense whatsoever.<\/p>\n

But that\u2019s all Obama\u2019s got.<\/p>\n

He cannot tout his record because it\u2019s shameful.<\/p>\n

It is abysmal his record, what he has done to this country.<\/p>\n

He cannot run on it. <\/p>\n

BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/p>\n

RUSH: One more audio sound bite from the president\u2019s press conference. It was a follow-up from Jessica Yellin. In fact, let\u2019s do these two, let\u2019s grab 27. Let\u2019s play \u2019em within proximity to each other. Jessica Yellin asked Obama, “Do you agree with the chairman of the Democrat National Committee that there is a ‘war on women\u2019?”<\/p>\n

RUSH: Okay. And then she continued with this, and you\u2019ll hear him in the answer here as well.<\/p>\n

YELLIN: Would you prefer this language be changed?<\/p>\n

OBAMA: You know, Jessica, as you know, if I start being in the business of arbitrating the —<\/p>\n

YELLIN: You talk about civility.<\/p>\n

OBAMA: Right. And what I do is I practice it. And so I\u2019m gonna try to lead by example —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Now, listen to this.<\/p>\n

OBAMA: — in this situation, as opposed to commenting on every single comment that\u2019s made by either politicians or pundits.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.<\/p>\n

OBAMA: I would be very busy, I would not have time to do my job. That\u2019s your job to comment on what\u2019s said by politicians and pundits.<\/p>\n

RUSH: He just did! Five minutes earlier, three minutes earlier he just did. Jessica Yellin, “Is there a war on women?” “I don\u2019t know, Jessica, I\u2019m not going to…” “Well, do you agree with the language?” “Well, it\u2019s not my job to comment on what pundits say.” You just did. You just commented on me. He says he leads by example? He called Tea Party supporters tea baggers, knowing full well what an insult it is. It\u2019s Barack Obama who said, (paraphrasing) “And it\u2019s not surprising then they get bitter, and they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren\u2019t like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment, as way to explain their frustrations.” <\/p>\n

<\/a>He doesn\u2019t know what\u2019s in my heart. I\u2019ll bet he knows what\u2019s in Jeremiah Wright\u2019s heart. He was in Jeremiah Wright\u2019s church for 20 years. Everybody knows what\u2019s in my heart. Everybody who listens to this program — and every one of these critics who\u2019s jumping on this for the political advantage they think it gives them — knows what\u2019s in my heart. Everybody knows what I do here. Everybody knows how I do it. And everybody knows what kind of person I am. All of this is trumped up for politics purposes, pure and simple. But here\u2019s a guy, “Well, do you agree with the language of the ‘war on women\u2019?” (imitating Obama) “Ah, Jessica, I can\u2019t start talking about that. I lead by example, as opposed to commenting on every comment made by politicians or pundits.” He just got through commenting on me. “You\u2019re job is to comment on what\u2019s said by politicians and pundits.” But he just did comment on me. And he will not be called on this. He will not be called on it. No member of the media will point it out. <\/p>\n

This is not even hypocrisy. This is just forgetting you said one thing and going out and saying the exact opposite. This is doing something and then deny you do it. This is robbing the bank and saying, “No, I didn\u2019t,” when everybody saw it on videotape. Here\u2019s a guy commenting on pundits saying, “I don\u2019t comment on pundits. I lead by example. I\u2019m the guy that leads by example in civility.” Sarah Palin tweeted a good point on Obama. She said: President Obama says he called Sandra Fluke because of his daughters. For the sake of everyone\u2019s daughter, why doesn\u2019t his super PAC return the $1 million he got from a rabid misogynist? That would be Bill Maher. He took a million dollars from somebody who\u2019s called Sarah Palin the T-word, the C-word, and everything in between. And they\u2019re not gonna give that money back, I guarantee you. It\u2019s Obama\u2019s super PAC. <\/p>\n

He\u2019s a guy who doesn\u2019t comment on pundits. The first two weeks he\u2019s in office he brings the congressional leadership up, says, “Don\u2019t listen to Rush Limbaugh, that\u2019s not how things get done in Washington.” He comments on me all the time, while saying he doesn\u2019t comment on pundits. He comments on me frequently, while claiming he doesn\u2019t comment on pundits.<\/p>\n

BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/p>\n

RUSH: Christian, Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, welcome to the EIB Network. Great to have you here.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Nice to be here. First-time caller, longtime listener. I just had so much, and I started telling Snerdley, and he let me on to finish it. First of all, I listened to the press conference. I turned you down, listened to the president. We have a lot in common. I\u2019m a black, and I\u2019m a Harvard Law graduate. But, as far as morality, there\u2019s so many dissimilarities that they\u2019re more dissimilar than similar. First of all, Obama is a big liar, as you keep pointing out, and people who can see through him can see. He called you indecent. ‘Cause he said, there\u2019s no place in the public discourse, all decent folks agree for that type of comment in the public forum. Well, that\u2019s just his opinion trying to force it on others. What he\u2019s doing by that is he\u2019s just cutting out the First Amendment altogether. We have a right to express our opinions, and when he doesn\u2019t agree with it, he tries to belittle you just like you said by saying he\u2019s not, but he is.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Isn\u2019t it amazing, Christian, here\u2019s a guy who\u2019s — I\u2019ve never seen a guy so afraid of words. He\u2019s not alone on the left, but I\u2019ve never seen a man so afraid of words as Barack Obama.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Very thin-skinned. He\u2019s very egotistical. He asked women reporters, about eight out of ten reporters questioned were women, right after he said he was not a Democrat going for the women vote. He has an audience full of news reporters who are male and women, he calls on about 80% of them are women. It\u2019s just when you listen to Rush and when you see what\u2019s going on then you can put so many more pieces of the puzzle together. He becomes transparent. He talked about John Bolton right afterwards, Iran and how a woman reporter asked him, “Three years ago you said Iran\u2019s time for talk is running out. Now when Israel comes in, the next day you come out, we\u2019re ready to talk to Iran again.” Again, he\u2019s tying Israel\u2019s hands by that position, and as John Bolton said, it\u2019s like sleep walking past the seminary. You know, this is a bad dream that keeps recurring, and Israel is running out of time, and what I\u2019m afraid is going to happen is Israel\u2019s gonna have to go it alone against Iran and they\u2019re gonna take the blame and Obama is just gonna sit back and say, “Well, you shoulda waited a little longer.” <\/p>\n

There are just so many things in this press conference that set me off. There\u2019s also, you know, I know you don\u2019t talk about this much, but what you\u2019re dealing with and so effectively, Rush, is you\u2019re countering every day, not just Democrats, but you\u2019re countering the spirit of anti-Christ, how the Catholic Church is being forced to pay for health care, for morning-after pills. And you talk about indecent, President Obama\u2019s indecent, infanticide is indecent. Being the abortion president who forces people against their conscience to pay for other people\u2019s abortions is indecent. It\u2019s beyond the pale that people can\u2019t — I\u2019m afraid for America that we\u2019re not seeing this. This election coming up is so crucial. Just stay on guard and be the watchman on the wall, Rush, and you\u2019re fighting the spirit of anti-Christ. This redistribution of wealth, infanticide, government controlling everything, clamoring against Christianity and everybody else has rights and Muslims, but not Christians, all this is the spirit of anti-Christ. You\u2019re doing a great job, and you\u2019re right, you are a gift from God.<\/p>\n

RUSH: You know, Obama is really standing in quicksand. He wants to attach virtue to himself. He\u2019s the leader in this new wave of civility. He\u2019s going to lead by example. He\u2019s the guy that\u2019s gonna sit around and police all this incivility, like when he sat there and laughed at the White House Correspondents Dinner when the comedian Wanda Sykes said she hoped my kidneys failed and I died. The president of the United States sat there and laughed, the guy who wants now to attach himself to the virtue of civility. And, of course, you remember all of the offended audience members at the White House Correspondents Dinner who walked out on Wanda Sykes.
