RUSH: Ladies and gentlemen, I\u2019ve got something somewhat curious and important I want to tell you. Over the years I\u2019ve said I don\u2019t tweet, don\u2019t Twitter, and so forth and so on. But I have an account. It\u2019s there. I wanted to establish the account in my name. There are a bunch of fake Rush Limbaugh Twitter accounts. But I\u2019ve decided to actually activate it now and use it for strategic purposes since it has become such an effective means of informing people outside the bounds of this program. Now, I don\u2019t know… Those of you who already tweet, to “follow” me, you would simply find me at @RushLimbaugh. Just follow me @RushLimbaugh<\/a>. It\u2019s that simple.<\/p>\n

<\/a>If you don\u2019t have a Twitter account, it\u2019s simple and it\u2019s free. You can just go sign up, just go to Twitter, sign up, get an account, and then say you want to follow @RushLimbaugh. And the reason for this is I\u2019ve got a couple of things — well, one now, but it\u2019s one really important thing — I want to put up that I want everybody to be able to see. I don\u2019t want to take up a lot of broadcast time with this. This is one of the actual advantages of being able to tweet it out there is that I don\u2019t have to waste a bunch of valuable broadcast time with this. But it\u2019s stuff… Plus, I don\u2019t have to read the whole thing to you. This is a way you can actually see it.<\/p>\n

And then the great thing about it is that you can “retweet” it, meaning just hit the retweet button and it goes to every other person that you follow. And it will, in geometric proportions, end up saturating the “Twitterverse.” So I\u2019m not gonna put it up now. I will later today after some of you have had time to go join up. If you want to. It\u2019s totally up to you. (interruption) Yeah, this is real. I\u2019m not gonna be a daily tweeter. (interruption) I don\u2019t know what\u2019s gotten into me. There are just some things I want people to see, some things I want to share with people — both items in the news and things going on with this asinine circumstance\/situation with me — that are important for people to see. I\u2019m not gonna waste time on the radio reading word-for-word some of these things but they\u2019re really worth people seeing, and being informed about.<\/p>\n

We\u2019re already up on Facebook, so we may as well close the loop and join Twitter. Like I say, I\u2019ve had a Twitter account just to lock it up. I\u2019ve had a genuine Rush Limbaugh Twitter account (not a fake, phony one) just to keep it under my domain control. So we will be tweeting some stuff now and then, primarily items of interest to you. I\u2019m not gonna be hanging on Twitter 15 hours a day and tweeting, “I just had breakfast! I hope you have a wonderful day! Bye! Here\u2019s a picture of me eating some corn flakes!” None of that stuff. You don\u2019t need to be worrying about that. No, it\u2019s just things I want people to see. And there\u2019s a really good one today that I want people to see and I\u2019m gonna tweet it out so give you a chance here to sign up, you just go to Twitter and set up an account. It\u2019s easy and it\u2019s free, and then just follow @RushLimbaugh<\/a>.<\/p>\n

And we\u2019ll get it up sometime later this afternoon. It won\u2019t be long.<\/p>\n

<\/a>RUSH: Folks, you ought to be here in the EIB broadcast facility. Dawn and Mr. Snerdley cannot believe that I have ventured out into the Twitterverse. I didn\u2019t tell you. We were there with my name just to occupy it. Here\u2019s the bottom line. Everybody has been asking me what they can do to help in all of this, and I\u2019ve been saying, “Just do what you\u2019ve been doing. If you listen, keep listening, that\u2019s fine.” There\u2019s an army out there that wants to be mobilized. And so I figure, use Twitter for it. I\u2019m just gonna put some things on Twitter that you can help us circulate. It\u2019s that simple. You just retweet them. We\u2019ll put \u2019em up there. You retweet it. We\u2019ll take care of everything else.<\/p>\n

All you have to do is sign up. There\u2019s no cost. You\u2019re not gonna be attacked by a bunch of hooligans and hobgoblins. You follow who you want. You don\u2019t have to follow anybody at all but me. Just go to Twitter.com and sign up, get an account and follow Rush Limbaugh. And then you have to do nothing more than push one button on Twitter to retweet what we put there for you to read, and you will be helping. It\u2019s that simple. It\u2019s gonna be fun as well. As I say, it\u2019s a way of circulating things above and beyond the program without having to use valuable programming time. So there\u2019s a couple things that I\u2019m gonna put on Twitter, you just follow Rush Limbaugh, you will find \u2019em and you retweet those out and we\u2019ll wait to put them up there to give enough of you time to sign up or decide if you want a Twitter account.
