RUSH: From the Examiner.com: “Democrats Fighting Hard for Illegal Alien Vote — In December 2011, Eric Holder announced that the Department of Justice will begin investigating Texas and South Carolina over their recently enacted laws requiring voters to present a photo ID before casting their ballots. The laws were designed to reduce voter fraud … a problem in every election.” I\u2019ll read that to you again: “In December 2011, [Attorney General] Eric Holder announced that the Department of Justice will begin investigating Texas and South Carolina over their recently enacted laws requiring voters to present a photo ID before casting their ballots.<\/p>\n

\"\"“During a speech at the LBJ presidential library, Holder said: ‘In jurisdictions across the country — both overt and subtle forms of discrimination remain all too common.'” The old photo ID business. Can you think of anything you do in your life where you do not need a photo ID? You need a photo ID to cash a check. You need a photo ID to get on an airplane. You need a photo ID for everything. For the most mundane things in life, you need a photo ID. But yet, Eric Holder and his gang tell us that to require a photo ID when one votes is intimidation, and it is discrimination.<\/p>\n

And it will cause people to hole up in their homes and not vote. When people say, “No, no, no. We\u2019ll be glad to provide them a photo ID free if they just come down to city hall,” that\u2019s a trick also to get people out of their homes. It\u2019s the state using its awesome fist to discriminate and intimidate people who don\u2019t have photo ID. Okay, all well and good. Let\u2019s take it at face value. The Democrat Party is standing tall, standing strong for people who want to be able to vote but who can\u2019t prove who they are. Now, by the same token, are these people who do not have photo IDs thus also not able to get on an airplane?<\/p>\n

Are they not able to get a credit card? Are they not able to cash check? I mean, look at all the things you can\u2019t do if you don\u2019t have a photo ID. Look at all of the areas in our society, in our economy where you are shut out if you don\u2019t have a photo ID. Just think about it. The Democrat Party, which claims to “stand for the little guy,” wants to maintain that status for certain of its constituents. No photo ID! Because it\u2019s just too scary and intimidating to have to have one of those to vote. But at the same time, those people are shut out of the US economy. You would think the Democrat Party would care about that.<\/p>\n

I mean, here are people — their voters — who can\u2019t on the airplane, can\u2019t cash a check, can\u2019t do anything. Whatever you need a photo ID for, they can\u2019t do it! They can\u2019t get married, what have you. And the Democrat Party seems content for them to be shut out of such a large part of the US economy. Now, why don\u2019t we ever hear anything about that? Why don\u2019t we ever hear that the Democrat Party doesn\u2019t care a whit about their voters being shut out and excluded from so much of the economy because they don\u2019t have an ID, a photo ID? All the Democrats care about is that they don\u2019t have a photo ID so that they can vote.<\/p>\n

Ask yourself this: What is discriminatory about producing a photo ID to vote and not discriminatory about producing a photo ID to get on an airplane or to get married? Why is one discriminatory and the other is not? Well, we all know the answer to this. The answer is vote fraud. The answer is the Democrats want to cheat, and a photo ID goes a long way towards stopping voter fraud. People can vote numerous times pretending to be different people, but you can\u2019t pretend to be somebody else if you have to produce a photo ID. And like this story says: Illegal aliens by definition will not have a photo.<\/p>\n

The Democrat Party wants them to vote. It\u2019s voter fraud. But maybe the way to go about this is to point out all of the other aspects of the economy these Democrat voters are shut out of, or from. They cannot participate in the economy, and the Democrat Party seems to be totally fine with that. It\u2019s just more evidence that the Democrat Party really doesn\u2019t care about the little guy. The Democrat Party uses the little guy. The Democrat Party\u2019s policies end up harming the little guy. And this is a classic example. If you are a Democrat voter and you are a minority, the Democrats do not want you having a photo ID.<\/p>\n

\"\"They certainly don\u2019t want you having to show it at a polling place. Now, there\u2019s not a person on earth with common sense who understands the charge that a photo ID is discriminatory. There\u2019s not a single person with a shred of common sense who understands that argument. You can have the civil rights coalition leaders all stand up with their megaphones and start shouting, threatening, caterwauling, complaining about having a photo ID. “It\u2019s discriminatory! It will take us back to Jim Crow days!” How does that possibly compute? What are they afraid of? Are there people who are already living lives that are a lie?<\/p>\n

Are they afraid that so many of their voters are gonna be found to be not who they are? Are they gonna find that Jack Smith is actually Jack somebody else? The idea that having to have a photo ID is discriminatory and intimidating should mean that it\u2019s discriminatory and intimidating everywhere you have to display one. They never say that. It\u2019s only when you vote. There\u2019s not a person in this country with a shred of common sense who doesn\u2019t understand what this is all about, plain and simple. This is about making sure that the Democrats can continue to cheat and have people vote more than one time. That\u2019s what they\u2019re trying to protect.<\/p>\n

They\u2019re also trying to ensure that it is never established that that, in fact, is happening.<\/p>\n

And the requirement of photo IDs would lead to all kinds of discoveries like that.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Thank you, Rush. I\u2019ll get right to it. I just wanted to remind the audience that this is the same attorney general that has refused to investigate the Black Panther Party in Philadelphia when they obstructed people\u2019s right to vote there.<\/p>\n

\"\"RUSH: He shut the investigation down, is what he did, in the face of the evidence.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Mmm-hmm.<\/p>\n

RUSH: He just shut it down.<\/p>\n

CALLER: We love you out here, Rush.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Thanks very much. J. Christian Adams, I think, is the lawyer who quit and said that throughout the Justice Department the Holder regime says, “We\u2019re just not gonna investigate minorities in this department. We\u2019re just not gonna do that.” So, yeah, it\u2019s the same guy. By the way, Holder is suing states and harassing states who want to try to implement the voter ID laws that have been passed in those states.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Hey, dittos, Rush. It\u2019s great to talk to you. I had an interesting comment about the voting from yesterday here in Chicago. My aunt, who\u2019s 85 years old, went to the polling place yesterday. She is a registered Republican, and asked for a Republican ballot at the beginning, and the lady behind the desk handed her a ballot and says, “Here you go, young lady,” and she grabbed the ballot and put her glasses on and read it and it turned out to be a Democratic ballot. So she went back and said, “Excuse me, ma\u2019am, but you gave me a Democratic ballot,” and she goes, “I\u2019m actually a Republican, and that\u2019s the way in which I\u2019m voting.” The lady handed her another ballot and it turned out to be another Democratic ballot. She went back inside, and said, “Ma\u2019am, I am a registered Republican. So the lady went back and handed her what she thought was one Republican ballot, and it turned out to be two Republican ballots, and she goes, “Ma\u2019am, you gave me two.” She says, “It\u2019s okay, honey. You can vote twice today.”<\/p>\n

RUSH: You gotta be kidding me?<\/p>\n

CALLER: I kid you not. I talked to my aunt last night because I wanted to make sure she got out and voted, and she shared that story with me. I says, “You\u2019re not kidding with me?” She goes, “Nope, that\u2019s exactly what happened.”<\/p>\n

RUSH: Why?<\/p>\n

CALLER: That\u2019s sad.<\/p>\n

\"\"RUSH: What was the point? Trying to get her to vote illegally on purpose?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Absolutely. If you vote illegally on purpose your vote would be disqualified as a Republican, Rush.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, but did this woman — did this poll worker — have any idea who your aunt was gonna vote for?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, obviously if she\u2019s from the Republican Party, you\u2019re gonna vote for somebody on the Republican side. So if you were going to allow her to vote on the Democratic side with the two ballots that she mistakenly handed to her twice, what do you do? You hand her two Republican ballots so at that point your Republican vote would not be counted at all.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah, but the reason that this doesn\u2019t make any sense is that there\u2019s no opposition. It doesn\u2019t make any difference who you aunt votes for, and it really doesn\u2019t make any difference if her vote\u2019s disqualified when you get down to it. I mean, other than legally. I guess we\u2019re assuming they\u2019re that the poll worker is a Democrat trying to mess with the system here, but this is not a general election. This is a election between Republicans. I mean, other than just general mischief… I know it\u2019s an open primary, but it shouldn\u2019t be that open. Well, I don\u2019t know. We hear stories, folks, like this — anecdotal stories like this — all the time, every election. Your aunt\u2019s very sharp. Very sharp.
