<\/a>CALLER: Well, it may be ultra-cynical on my part, but I did not hear the president interjecting himself into the argument or the controversy by saying that if he had a son, you know… That is that the ten people that were murdered on the south side of Chicago, that they would all look like his son as well.<\/p>\nRUSH: I know. We talked about this earlier. This is one of those things I can\u2019t relate to. I don\u2019t look at people and see a race or a sexual orientation or whatever. I mean, I\u2019m a red-blooded American guy. When I see a woman, I notice she\u2019s a woman, but I don\u2019t see the political context. I don\u2019t see feminist or a female victim of some oppressive society. I don\u2019t see black-versus-white or anything. The left is the ones who do this. For Obama to come out and say, “If I had a son, he would look like Trayvon,” okay, fine. What? What then? What does that mean? What are we supposed to infer from that? I don\u2019t even want to answer that question. It\u2019s a disconnect to me. I don\u2019t get it. The last thing I would ever think, if I were president or anybody else, when somebody gets shot is, “Whoa, that looks like my son!” I don\u2019t have a son. Neither does he. I don\u2019t understand it. But certainly, yeah, he\u2019s not saying it about any other murder victim. And he didn\u2019t call their parents, or the kids\u2019 patients, I don\u2019t think. It\u2019s a mystery to me. I just have no… Well, it\u2019s not a mystery. I mean, I know these people like the back of my hand, but I just can\u2019t relate to this way of looking at people and events, look at everything through a political lens.<\/p>\n
We have dead 17-year-old, and this being looked at through a political prism by people is just something that escapes me, just really does. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
