RUSH: Ted Nugent, Saturday in St. Louis, at the annual NRA convention. He was interviewed by the NRANews.com host Cam Edwards: “We have been talking about how important it is that NRA members are active, that we vote, that we care about this election because of really, what is at stake?”<\/p>\n

NUGENT: If Barack Obama becomes the president in November, again, I will either be dead or in jail by this time next year. If you can\u2019t go home and get everybody in your lives to clean house in this vile, evil America-hating administration, I don\u2019t even know what you\u2019re made out of. And if you\u2019re taking offense at that, tough. Our president and attorney general, our vice president, Hillary Clinton, they\u2019re criminals. They\u2019re criminals.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

RUSH: And Nugent also said, “We need to ride into that battlefield and chop their heads off in November.” So the Secret Service said, you know, we\u2019re recalling the gang there out of Colombia<\/a>. We want to talk to Nugent. Well, Nugent has now agreed to talk to \u2019em. By the way, has the Secret Service said that they want to talk to Reverend Farrakhan? Reverend Farrakhan said that the leaders were gonna start dying pretty soon here if they didn\u2019t shape up, right? Something like that. And how about Jimmy Hoffa Jr.? “Let\u2019s take those SOBs out.” Except he said the words SOBs instead of the initials. <\/p>\n

Now, we don\u2019t know. The Secret Service might have called Farrakhan<\/a>. Snerdley\u2019s frowning in there. Why wouldn\u2019t they call Farrakhan? His threats are just like anybody else\u2019s. In fact, his threat is probably a more genuine threat than Nugent\u2019s. You don\u2019t think the Secret Service would try get hold of Calypso Louie? Are you telling me that you think the Secret Service would give people a pass on threats against our leaders because of their race? Is that what you\u2019re telling me? No? The Justice Department said, Eric Holder said, this according to J. Christian Adams who was in there, that they\u2019re not gonna pursue black defendants. But the Secret Service is the Treasury department, I believe, not DOJ. I stand to be corrected on that. They all work for the Obama regime. <\/p>\n

But you think that the Secret Service would ignore Farrakhan? Farrakhan warned that people are gonna kill their leaders for selling them out. (imitating Farrakhan) “You want to be leaders, right? You\u2019re sure, you\u2019re sure? You better check yourself because leadership\u2019s nothing to play with because people tomorrow, maybe in a few days, are gonna kill their leaders who have been selling them out. That\u2019s why we\u2019re in the shape we\u2019re in right now, because we have corrupt people or people that started off good and got corrupted.” Now, I know he\u2019s not talking about Mitt Romney. Okay, so Snerdley says, “Secret Service will totally ignore Minister Farrakhan.” <\/p>\n

All right. Well, Nugent said today that “he is scheduled to talk with the Secret Service following controversial remarks he made about President Obama and his administration. … The Secret Service said Wednesday the agency is aware of the comments, but would not say whether Nugent will be interviewed about them. Nugent, who said his comments were not a call to violence, said on Glenn Beck\u2019s radio show that he will meet with agents Thursday.”<\/p>\n

The Democrats are calling on Mitt Romney to denounce what Nugent said. Debbie “Blabbermouth” Schultz said, “We have more than 200 days to go in this election. If the GOP and Romney are willing to accept this kind of rhetoric at this stage of the campaign, I can\u00c2\u2019t imagine what they\u00c2\u2019ll accept in September and October.” Debbie “Blabbermouth” Schultz. Wait a sec, wait a sec, wait a sec. I just got a note here. I haven\u2019t heard that. They\u2019re telling me that they\u2019re calling on me to denounce Nugent? Who\u2019s calling on me to denounce Nugent? I haven\u2019t heard anybody call on me to denounce Nugent. This is the first time I\u2019ve been asked to denounce anybody. This is a red letter day. Somebody has asked me to denounce somebody. It has never happened. I don\u2019t know who did it. (interruption) Frank Rich, I\u2019m told. Frank Rich. Frank Rich? He\u2019s not at the New York Times anymore, is he? He left the New York Times, he\u2019s at New York Magazine or New Yorker magazine, or Haute Living or… I don\u2019t know what happened. I don\u2019t know. <\/p>\n

Oh, it was a tweet? “If Romney can\u2019t stand up to Nugent or Limbaugh, who can he stand up to?” (laughing) If Romney can\u2019t stand up to Nugent or Limbaugh, who can he stand up to? Well, I\u2019m not gonna denounce The Nuge. He called on Romney to denounce Nugent and me. Okay, so I\u2019m wrong. He did not ask me to denounce anybody. He asked Romney to denounce me again, along with The Nuge. The last time I saw The Nuge he was singing the national anthem at Cowboy stadium before a Cowboys-Giants game, I think last year in Dallas. <\/p>\n

You know, The Nuge got his start in politics on this show. The Nuge got his start in politics calling this show. The audience loved him. He called here, it was during the Clinton years, and he was loaded for bear. He was saying things like, “I eat everything I kill. I believe in hunting. If I go out and shoot a deer, my family\u2019s eating it. If I shoot a chicken or whatever, that\u2019s what we have for dinner. If it was good enough for the Founding Fathers, it\u2019s good enough for me.”<\/p>\n
