I\u2019m from Branson, Missouri, and I commute up there. I teach global awareness and I hear you talk about academia quite a bit. I believe in academia &#8212;<\/p>\n<paragraph xmlns:tmp=\"http:\/\/ez.no\/namespaces\/ezpublish3\/temporary\/\">RUSH: Wait, whoa, whoa. I need you to slow down &#8212;<\/p>\n<paragraph xmlns:tmp=\"http:\/\/ez.no\/namespaces\/ezpublish3\/temporary\/\">CALLER: Yes, sir.<\/p>\n<paragraph xmlns:tmp=\"http:\/\/ez.no\/namespaces\/ezpublish3\/temporary\/\">RUSH: &#8212; so I can understand. Did you say you teach global awareness?<\/p>\n<paragraph xmlns:tmp=\"http:\/\/ez.no\/namespaces\/ezpublish3\/temporary\/\">CALLER: Yes, sir, at Drury University in Springfield, Missouri.<\/p>\n<paragraph xmlns:tmp=\"http:\/\/ez.no\/namespaces\/ezpublish3\/temporary\/\">RUSH: Drury, D-r-u-r-y?<\/p>\n<paragraph xmlns:tmp=\"http:\/\/ez.no\/namespaces\/ezpublish3\/temporary\/\">CALLER: Yes, sir. Where Bob Barker went. The Price is Right guy.<\/p>\n<paragraph xmlns:tmp=\"http:\/\/ez.no\/namespaces\/ezpublish3\/temporary\/\">RUSH: I know who he is. Big animal rights nut. What is global awareness?<\/p>\n<paragraph xmlns:tmp=\"http:\/\/ez.no\/namespaces\/ezpublish3\/temporary\/\">CALLER: Global awareness is teaching Americans because Americans are pretty much in the lower level of understanding geography and what\u2019s going on around them. Global awareness teaches them about what\u2019s going on in the world, and I teach them current events, this is what\u2019s going on in the world. We talk about topics. We talk about numbers and statistics. What\u2019s going on with war and crime and how we are gonna solve things in humanity, what we can do &#8212;<\/p>\n<paragraph xmlns:tmp=\"http:\/\/ez.no\/namespaces\/ezpublish3\/temporary\/\">RUSH: I got it.<\/p>\n<paragraph xmlns:tmp=\"http:\/\/ez.no\/namespaces\/ezpublish3\/temporary\/\">CALLER: &#8212; realistically to solve things.<\/p>\n<paragraph xmlns:tmp=\"http:\/\/ez.no\/namespaces\/ezpublish3\/temporary\/\">RUSH: Make a difference, right.<\/p>\n<paragraph xmlns:tmp=\"http:\/\/ez.no\/namespaces\/ezpublish3\/temporary\/\">CALLER: Yeah, to make a difference.<\/p>\n<paragraph xmlns:tmp=\"http:\/\/ez.no\/namespaces\/ezpublish3\/temporary\/\">RUSH: Yeah.<\/p>\n<paragraph xmlns:tmp=\"http:\/\/ez.no\/namespaces\/ezpublish3\/temporary\/\">CALLER: I\u2019m calling really to tell you a couple of things; one leads into the other. When I teach my kids something, I say, &#8220;Look, talk about what you\u2019re talking about passionately when you give a report, but base it on facts.&#8221; I believe in academia, if they did listen to you for a three-hour show, the next day they\u2019d start a Facebook page, every single one of them in academia in the United States, a hundred percent of the professors, would agree that you\u2019re basing things, your questions, on statistics, on numbers. You\u2019re unbiased, and this is why academia, I believe a hundred percent, would support you. And maybe they do, you know &#8212;<\/p>\n<paragraph xmlns:tmp=\"http:\/\/ez.no\/namespaces\/ezpublish3\/temporary\/\">RUSH: No, wait a minute. Now, you may have a view of academia in your own perspective, but you get into most of the institutions of higher learning, and it\u2019s not just me. Any conservative is, by definition, ignorant, doesn\u2019t know facts. Makes them up, lies about them. If these professors you\u2019re talking about took the time to listen to this program, I don\u2019t think that my incredible persuasive powers would work at all. I think they\u2019re so indoctrinated and mal-educated themselves that they would consider me a radical.<\/p>\n<paragraph xmlns:tmp=\"http:\/\/ez.no\/namespaces\/ezpublish3\/temporary\/\">CALLER: Yes, but, you know what? They have to listen to you. They should, because we are taught to teach objectively and unbiased, and we tell our students that. So if we\u2019re telling our students that and we are ourselves are objective, you are talking objectively and unbiasedly and with facts. And this is another thing I want to lead into Romney. Romney could beat Obama tomorrow if he stopped doing the speech that he\u2019s doing talking about Obama. Just use facts. He\u2019s not gonna beat Obama, Obama is talking strategy from a Sovietesque way, method, and he\u2019s good at it. The only way Romney\u2019s gonna beat him &#8212; and we\u2019re talking about statistics and numbers and facts &#8212; is to talk about statistics, numbers, and facts, and do that from now until the day he gets elected. That\u2019s the only way he\u2019s gonna defeat him. And I think academia needs to listen to you.<\/p>\n<paragraph xmlns:tmp=\"http:\/\/ez.no\/namespaces\/ezpublish3\/temporary\/\">RUSH: No.<\/p>\n<paragraph xmlns:tmp=\"http:\/\/ez.no\/namespaces\/ezpublish3\/temporary\/\">CALLER: They need to do that because if they do that certainly on Facebook or say they create a Facebook page, they will say, &#8220;Look, this helps us improve what we\u2019re thinking, our insight. It might not change our political convictions but, I\u2019ll tell you what, it would make a difference in academia,&#8221; and I think you need to do a little challenge here.<\/p>\n<paragraph xmlns:tmp=\"http:\/\/ez.no\/namespaces\/ezpublish3\/temporary\/\">RUSH: Well, I wish that were true. I think we need a thousand more Samsons &#8212; professors like you out there &#8212; teaching with your philosophies. I just don\u2019t think they exist in as great a number as you do. What is your challenge?<\/p>\n<paragraph xmlns:tmp=\"http:\/\/ez.no\/namespaces\/ezpublish3\/temporary\/\">CALLER: What is my challenge?<\/p>\n<paragraph xmlns:tmp=\"http:\/\/ez.no\/namespaces\/ezpublish3\/temporary\/\">RUSH: You said you had a challenge for me?<\/p>\n<paragraph xmlns:tmp=\"http:\/\/ez.no\/namespaces\/ezpublish3\/temporary\/\">CALLER: Oh, that we get &#8212; you and all these academics &#8212; to create a Facebook page or whatever social network, or a Web page you want. Have them take a survey and say, &#8220;Listen to a three-hour program of Rush. Is he objective? Is he talking truthfully? Is he talking with genuine concern?&#8221; I guarantee you you\u2019re gonna get a 100% A rating.<\/p>\n<paragraph xmlns:tmp=\"http:\/\/ez.no\/namespaces\/ezpublish3\/temporary\/\">RUSH: Uhhh, that would be a great idea. The thing I would change about that is I think everybody needs to listen, not just the academy. But that\u2019s a good start with academe. Well, you\u2019ve got&#8230; I love you. I love your optimism. You\u2019d think if these professors start listening to me, that would be simple as pie. You can\u2019t disagree with this guy. But I know that they would.
