CALLER: Yes, good afternoon, Mr. Limbaugh. Had a question for you, sir.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Yes, sir, fire away.<\/p>\n
CALLER: Do you think a school has any place telling our kids what secondary language to learn? <\/p>\n
RUSH: I know what you\u2019re talking about. This is about Arabic being taught, right?<\/p>\n
CALLER: Yes, in New York, in the upper part of the city.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Yeah. Well, Arabic may be new, but aren\u2019t there plenty of school districts that require a second language to be taught?<\/p>\n
CALLER: But by second, to fifth graders?<\/p>\n
RUSH: Well, yeah, don\u2019t misunderstand, I\u2019m not defending it.<\/p>\n
CALLER: I know, sir.<\/p>\n

RUSH: You asked me if I\u2019ve ever heard of a school requiring a secondary language. Some schools in America require English as a secondary language.<\/p>\n
CALLER: Understood, sir. I lost my way to say this. Rush, I understand learning a second language in high school. You know, I was asked to learn Spanish, it was part of our curriculum. But telling a bunch of second through fifth grade elementary school children that twice a week for 45 minutes they have to sit in a classroom and learn a language that they, pardon me, no matter what the teachers and the principal seem to think, may have no use for?<\/p>\n
RUSH: Well, that\u2019s where they\u2019re probably wrong. They have no use for it. Somebody clearly intends \u2019em to have a use for it.<\/p>\n
CALLER: Yes, sir, obviously, but —<\/p>\n
RUSH: You know what I would do if I\u2019m upset about this, I\u2019d call the NAGs. I would call the National Organization for Women, because, you know, what is the plight of women in Arab countries? Saudi Arabia? They can\u2019t drive cars. They can\u2019t go out in public without a burqa. They can\u2019t go out in public without permission of their husbands, need chaperones and stuff. All of that\u2019s gonna be part and parcel of learning the language.<\/p>\n
CALLER: Yes, sir.<\/p>\n
RUSH: To be able to understand those commands. “You cannot go outside without my permission.” The NAGs could probably stop this.<\/p>\n
CALLER: But would they, sir?<\/p>\n
RUSH: No. Probably not.<\/p>\n
CALLER: Yeah, my wife and I were married recently. We\u2019re getting ready to start a family.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Let me ask you this.<\/p>\n
CALLER: What kind of world would we be bringing them into?<\/p>\n
RUSH: Yeah, I hear you. Is this school district in Bayside, is it allowed to require English to be taught?<\/p>\n
CALLER: Well, it\u2019s in Hamilton Heights specifically, sir, and I\u2019m not sure. <\/p>\n
RUSH: Oh, it\u2019s technically Hamilton Heights, yeah.<\/p>\n
CALLER: Yeah, they\u2019re just saying it\u2019s — apparently that it\u2019s a critical need language, they\u2019re saying about Arabic.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Well, maybe the Department of Homeland Security needs some new employees. Maybe they\u2019re running short. The TSA might need some people.<\/p>\n
CALLER: (laughing) Pardon me, sir.<\/p>\n
RUSH: You can laugh. You can laugh.<\/p>\n
CALLER: You\u2019re probably absolutely right, which is what I found so funny.<\/p>\n
RUSH: I saw the story. Look, I\u2019m like you. Somebody\u2019s gotta interpret Sharia law. I guarantee you that that\u2019s what\u2019s the foundation for this is. Nobody\u2019s gonna tell you that. Nobody\u2019s gonna say that\u2019s the reason, but somebody\u2019s gotta interpret Sharia law down the road.<\/p>\n
CALLER: Certainly. They want someone —<\/p>\n
