CALLER: I\u2019m calling because I\u2019m a police officer for the state of South Carolina, South Carolina Highway Patrol. I\u2019m formerly a military police officer, also a former Kardashian Kid.<\/p>\n
RUSH: (chuckling)<\/p>\n
CALLER: (chuckling)<\/p>\n
RUSH: What\u2019s a Kardashian Kid?<\/p>\n

CALLER: A Kardashian Kid is a member of the clan who voted for Obama and didn\u2019t know what we were doing.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Ah.<\/p>\n
CALLER: We were on a high and voted for him because he\u2019s black.<\/p>\n
RUSH: All right. A Celebrity of the United States kind of guy. Right. Okay.<\/p>\n
CALLER: It would seem that way.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Yeah.<\/p>\n
CALLER: But I wanted to speak to you because I was given a challenge by another policeman, a friend of mine on the force, to listen to you for six weeks and give you that chance to see if you couldn\u2019t change my mind. And before I was a police officer, I was a substitute teacher. That\u2019s what I did before I got my full-time position. And you have no idea how much you influence even young children in high school. I\u2019d be waiting for classes to come in, and I\u2019d have you on. And you\u2019d be amazed at how 15- and 16-year-olds know Rush Limbaugh and want me to keep Rush Limbaugh on instead of giving them their paperwork.<\/p>\n
So I wanted to call and thank you for, first of all, changing my mind. I had no idea that Obama had voted for some of the same things that Bush put before the Senate. I had no idea how much of a hypocrite this man was until I listened to you. Some of the children that have graduated now are voting Republican now. And their eyes are open because they\u2019ve had the chance to talk to me in the classroom and listen to some of your shows, to listen to you on the radio. They have a chance to go out and vote now because they know the difference. Their eyes are opened now.<\/p>\n
RUSH: That\u2019s amazing.<\/p>\n
CALLER: You just have no idea of the influence you have.<\/p>\n
RUSH: I appreciate your calling and telling me that. I didn\u2019t know that you would encounter that among 15- or 16-year-olds.<\/p>\n
CALLER: Yes, sir.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Marcus, how did this guy convince you to do the six-week trial?<\/p>\n
CALLER: Well, we were sitting there at a gas station one day getting ready to go on patrol. We worked third shift, and he had his iPhone plugged up to the speakers in his car before he turned his radio on. I said, “Who\u2019s this guy?” He goes, “Rush Limbaugh.” And I said, “I don\u2019t listen to Rush. I\u2019m an Obama fan.” He said, “I\u2019ll tell you what. Give me six weeks. Listen to him. Listen to him with me every single day. If he doesn\u2019t change your mind — if you cannot see the light, if you\u2019re still a Kardashian Kid — I\u2019ll give you 500 bucks.”<\/p>\n
RUSH: Oh-ho! (chuckling) No kidding? So you had a financial incentive?<\/p>\n
CALLER: Yes, I did. And I passed up 500 bucks because you were the only man in the history of this world to ever change my mind on anything.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Do you have a…? Look, I\u2019m gonna send one from Verizon because with Verizon there\u2019s this new LTE, which is 4G instead of 3G. And Verizon is in, like, 300 markets now. It\u2019s everywhere. AT&T, their rollout is a little slower. They\u2019re at 38. So I\u2019m gonna send you a Verizon, and I think we\u2019ve only got one in there left. It\u2019s white but it\u2019s beautiful so we\u2019ll send that one. So you hang on here, Marcus. Don\u2019t hang up so Mr. Snerdley can get your shipping address. We\u2019ll FedEx it to you; you\u2019ll have it tomorrow.<\/p>\n
CALLER: I appreciate it, Rush.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Oh, Marcus, you made our day here. You made our day here. You risked 500 bucks, and you stuck with it for the six weeks. Which is exactly the time period. Your friend was right on the money \u2019cause that\u2019s what we say it takes here. You need six weeks of constant study and devotion to the program to be able to put it all in context day to day. Way to go! I really appreciate it, Marcus. I\u2019m happy to have you in the audience.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Did you hear what Marcus said? The only man in the history of the world who changed his mind, was me, El Rushbo. Yeah. It does make me feel good. Has anybody changed my mind? Has anybody ever changed my mind? Uh, gosh, I\u2019m sure they have. I just can\u2019t remember the last time it happened. But I\u2019m sure people have changed my mind.
